The author had my curiosity peaked from just the title. What in the world did ice have to do with the series???? The main characters are Dmitri, a shifter, and Georgie, a drifter. No one had seen his animal or his sister’s. He didn’t use or talk about his “gift” because he didn’t think it was a gift. Georgie had fled the group after finding out that they weren’t human. She disappeared like she first appeared with a “poof”. Suspense, curiosity, intrigue. This author gave me all of it.
I couldn’t figure out what they had to do with ice. Granted both of the characters kept to themselves, not sharing much, but my curiosity was definitely peaked. I soon found out there was so much more the the characters than I first thought. The author kept dropping little teasers, small hints, just the perfect amount to keep intrigued, completely absorbed in the story. The author kept me enthralled. I not only wanted, but needed to know what the heck was happening.
If my nosiness wasn’t enough to keep me interested, the enforcers are in the middle of an important mission. They are helping kidnapped female dragons escape their prison before they are auctioned off. It is dangerous. It is a thrill for the reader and a risk for Damara, who is working undercover. Let me tell you her “gift” is the bomb!!!!!
Poor Dmitri has so much to deal with in this book. His sister put herself at risk. He isn’t used to being away from her. Telepathic contact just isn’t enough. He let his mate go without taking any action. He can’t stay. He can’t stay away. He is being pulled in too many directions. He is helpless with an animal he can’t share with the world and a “gift” that he hasn’t bothered to explore because he feels defeated. There will come a time he must face his issues, lives will depend upon it. And when he needs help it comes from the most unlikely person.
I can’t remember the last time I totally fell for a secondary character. Skylar has been annoying in the the past books. I wondered how the enforcers put up with him. But in this book –O.M.G.!!!!! I laughed at his jokes. I cheered him on. Who knew that Skylar could be a hero. If he can be a success, then there is hope for characters everywhere. I really, really want to check out my livestock and find a shifter just like Skylar. Bring on more Skylar!!!
This is my special thank you to the author. You give me hours of entertainment at a reasonable price. You give me so many things to think about, to ponder, that I count down to each release. You share your imagination with me, allowing me to dream. You have given me the opportunity to escape the problems of real life. You have had me laughing just when I needed it. Thank you!!! Thank you!! Thank you.
I Love this Series! Dimitri has always been the quiet one. In the previous books he always seemed to be hiding in the shadows of the Blood and Bones MC. Georgie used to be a waitress at the clubhouse, but runs once she learns what the Blood and Bones members are…she really freaks when she learns that they are more than a regular MC. Dimitri knows she’s his mate, but as his Griffen constantly reminds him, he was a coward and let her run. He does keep an eye on her and pulls her back when he realizes that she’s in trouble. What a sweet couple and a great story!! I enjoys the characters and all their quarks and the stories fun to read!!
