Oliver Ice, one of Boston University’s notorious hockey players, has been on my radar since I slammed into his rock-hard body during my first week of college, three years ago. He helped me to my feet, muttered an apology, and ran off after his girlfriend, dashing my hopes of a happily ever after. Now, he’s the bartender where I work, and this time, very much single. Night after night I watch the … watch the tall, broad, and sexy right winger mixing drinks and being Mr. Personality, while I remind myself how horribly my last relationship ended.
But when Oliver overhears a private conversation, he offers to be the one thing I need more than anything–my pretend boyfriend at a dreaded family reunion.
One weekend was all it was meant to be.
How do I protect my fragile heart when the lines between fantasy and reality blur with our first kiss?

ICED (Boston Terriers Hockey Book 2) by Jacob Chance
This is yet another excellent read by Jacob Chance. Oliver is a bartender and Ava is a dancer. When he overhears a comment she makes he is determined to help her out. This is a fun story this is, these two have tons of chemistry, witty banter, great story line, and oh did I mention chemistry? This is a 5 star read.
Jacob wrote a page turner! This was such a cute story.
This sexy low angst romance is high on swoon and tenderness. Ava and Oliver will melt your heart! Ava’s had a crush on Oliver Iced for years and he was always occupied with his now-ex girlfriend. When working at a club where Oliver works and being brought together by a friend Ava knows to guard her heart. She suspects Oliver to be as stuck up as his ex but is surprised to find he’s nothing like what she expected. Oliver has been drawn to Ava since she stepped foot on the stage at Score and amazed him with her dancing but she keeps him at arm’s length though he’s determined to break down her walls. A weekend away as a fake couple breaks down some of the walls and when another fake date brings them together will they let their feelings come out and give in to what they feel for one another?
Iced is another hot, sweet read where the big, sexy hockey hunk is nothing that he seems but he’s everything that you need and want!
A very delightful, charming, endearing and enjoyable story. I loved the way the two treated each other. So different then other stories. A splendid book.
Loved It! This Story Is The Tip Of The ICED-berg!
Amazing, funny, warm, romantic, spectacular, are just a few words to describe this story as it is the tip of the ICED-berg. You will fall in love with Oliver Ice the starting right winger for the Boston Terrier Hockey team. Mending a broken heart and determined not to get into another relationship. He decides to help out Ava and pretend they’re dating and he may find that he’s over his head.
Ava Madigan has had a crush on Oliver for years, but she has preconceived ideas about if he’s actually a good guy. What happens when she finds out that he’s actually a sweet guy? This is a fantastic slow burn romance. If you have never tried a sports romance book this is a great place to start. Read this book and you won’t be disappointed.
Just when I think that Jacob Chance can’t possibly create a hero better than those who came before him, he goes and creates this PERFECTION! And that’s saying something, because some of his previous heroes own pieces of my heart. However, I love Love LOVE Oliver and Ava. This was an absolute joy to read. I love Jacob’s words and am always excited to see a new book of his hit my Kindle! Iced is a kick-butt standalone and not only did this book have all my favorite elements it also had the perfect charismatic Hero and a truly loveable Heroine. This is a book that you will get so completely lost in that you won’t even notice the time that has passed while reading it. I can’t even with how much I adored this book! Brilliant. Just brilliant.
I adored Ava and Oliver. ADORED. These two were perfect. From the way the author played them out individually and as a couple. Their chemistry was off the charts and their personalities bounced off of each other in such a flawless way. So many sweet little moments between these two. Jacob puts together characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Oliver was one of those. Just an all around good guy! He was endearingly sweet and had a heart of gold, and he just seems to shine through as an incredible man. He’s swoon worthy, and one I was head over heels for! I loved Ava. Absolutely loved her. I adored her character to the point where I kind of have a bit of a girl crush on her! She’s sweet, feisty and full of sass. Her lack of filter is hilarious! She was pure passion and fire. Its a beautiful thing. She’s probably my favorite female JC character to date. This story and their love are All. The Things! Ava and Oliver are a match made in romance heaven.
This is hands down my favorite Jacob Chance book. I love so many of his, but this one…it really got me, evoking so many emotions. And so many aspects of this story just resonated with me on a deeper level. I did not want to put it down or for it to end!
This was the perfect sports romance! It had everything I wanted and more. It was a feel good, emotional as heck, and purely wonderful romance.
Don’t miss any of Jacob Chance’s novels!!
Oliver will melt the ice around your heart. He is the perfect combination of sweet and alpha. Fake relationships is one of my favorite tropes and in true Jacob fashion, he scores. You’ve just been iced.
This story was great. Without all the drama of a break up or misunderstanding. Don’t get me wrong live those stories too because you just stay hooked but sometimes the anticipation is too much. You just want to see something work without complication. In this case the complications came before they were together. Both having been cheated on by significant others. Threat story. This was my first. Now I’m going back tot eh football series and starting from scratch.
So good, the writing draws you into the characters and makes you feel their emotions. Great read well written. Want to read more of the series
I enjoyed watching the story develop. The characters were very likeable.
Jacob delivers another goal with Iced! Ava and Oliver find a love that I wish I had. Jacob delivers characters – both main and supportive – who I care about and cheer for, who I want to be friends with. Thanks Jacob for a wonderful story!
This book is Oliver and Ava’s story. I am reluctant to read a book with college age characters, because there is often too much angst for my taste. Jacob Chance does a really good job of writing characters that are not immature. Ava and Oliver sworn off relationships, but they are attracted to one another. I liked them as a couple, but at first I wasn’t too sure. Honestly, I wasn’t too keen as regards to Ava. I wasn’t a fan of her attitude towards Oliver. As the story progressed, I understood her motivation. I felt the secondary characters were a great addition to the book. I really liked this story and I am looking forward to reading the next installment of the series.
Once again Jacob Chance brings us back to Boston and we finally get Oliver’s story. He may be the sexiest bartender for the club Score but we see so much more in him right now. Ava, however has always seen him but like an average girl she is always bypassed. Seeing them connect in a way brings them to a point where they are even completing each other’s sentences. Oliver falling in love, real love for the first time was funny to read and Ava denying it is more than love between them. Cannot wait to see the next one in the Boston series and what Jacob Chance will do with the hero and heroine definitely always interesting to see what his clever mind will create.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
This is the first book I had read from this author and I hope to read many more. I love the way he writes. It’s like he’s saying “Turn the page, it’s gonna be even better “. To say I was captivated is not enough.
Ava and Oliver’s story will steal your heart. It’s heartwarming, funny, romantic and sexy.
Must read for sure!
Just loved this book!! Oliver and Ava’s story is so sweet, really enjoying the Terriers Hockey series, can’t wait for the next one!
I’m a huge JC fan, so I start any new book of his on pins and needles ready to get lost in it. I had a feeling I’d love ICED by how much I loved and adored CHECKED and it did not disappoint. Oliver and Ava were so great. I loved everything they brought and so much more. I binged this in a day and fell hard, once again for these characters and the story they were wrapped in. It was a book I didn’t want to see end; making me sad as my percentage of book left to read kept creeping higher and higher. I can’t wait to see who comes to life next from Jacob. But for now, I’m officially a #TerriersPuckBunny
What a great story. Such an awesome and flirty romance. A great quick read with the perfect amount back and forth, with just enough fun hockey times. I really enjoyed reading this book, I have to go back and start at book 1 now! Cannot wait for the next one.
Oliver and Ava what can I say this book was fantastic and had anything and everything you could ask for in a book. Emotions, twist and turns, laughter, ups and downs and so much romance. Amazing read cant wait to read more from this author
Although part of a series, I read Iced, book 2 in its series, without having read Checked. It was easy to get into. Definitely stand alone, but I want to go back and read all the other friends stories because it’s more about the bookiverse.
In Iced we get the story of Oliver Ice. Fifth year senior, hockey player, bartender, and recently heart broken. He sees Ava across the room on her first night dancing at the bar he works at. He is struck dumb by her.
Ava has had a crush on Oliver since he crashed into her on her first day at their college. Unfortunately for her, at the time he was still under the spell of his horrible ex, Stacey. She’s initially a bit antagonistic toward him when they meet again. By chance he steps up to help her out by agreeing to be her fake boyfriend for her family reunion because her sister and her ex-boyfriend would be present, as a couple, and she didn’t want to go alone.
Ava and Oliver become friends and there is definitely chemistry between them from the start. Both of them are initially commited to staying single but find themselves thinking of the other all the time. Their story starts a slow burn that eventually ignites into an inferno of passion and love. Their story is sweet, steamy, and witty.
The additional characters from the bookiverse make you want to read their stories, either those already written or yet to come.
Loved.
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
