Carol had never thought of life as particularly hard. She just did what she needed to survive. She and her sister, Persephone, were happy and healthy, if a bit poor. They had each other and that’s all that mattered. Then her world threatened to fold in on itself.Logan had been watching Carol for the better part of a year. She treated Persephone like a daughter so he naturally thought the child … the child was Carol’s daughter even though Carol was only currently eighteen. Which meant she’d been impossibly young when Persephone was born. Which made the father of Carol’s daughter a dead man if he’d left the pair alone. Imagine his surprise when he learns the truth.
Wondrous things happen at Christmas time. Even a lord isn’t immune to the magic. Persephone was quick and intelligent and Carol even more so. It was enough to melt even the Grinch’s heart. This is one lord willing to leap in any direction it takes to keep his girls.

The tenth book in the 12 Days of Christmas series a well written short Christmas story. I enjoyed reading Carol, her sister Persephone and Logan’s story. Boy what a Mother those girls had and Miss Marguerite was just as bad. I enjoyed reading this book and I will be looking for more in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this story about a hard-working young woman getting her fairy tale. Logan, the Lord of the Manor takes an interest in his young employee, Carol. When her wayward mother trespasses at The Manor she is swiftly dealt with and Carol resigns herself to seeking new employment. However, destiny is waiting for her in the wings.
“His Christmas Carol” is a short romance between a lord and one of his employees. Carol has been taking care of her little sister since their addict mother was sent to prison years ago. Logan has been aware of her for the 10 months she has worked in his mansion but has not made a move. One day that changes.
I like this story! It’s like a Hallmark Christmas TV movie – but with the good parts they would never show! It is well written with good character development and the right amount of angst from both parties. Will class distinction, insecurity, jealousy, or outsiders get in the way of their HEA? There are Cinderella moments against the backdrop of holiday celebrations. A simmering seduction that leads to satisfaction for all. An entertaining read!

Carol has a tough life, but she works hard to take care of her sister, and they’re (mostly) happy and healthy. Logan is Carol’s employer. He’s had his eye on her, and has a romantic interest in her. Even more so when he finds out the truth of her situation. All he has to do now is convince her that he won’t hurt her or break her heart. I really enjoyed this short book. Carol is just such a good person, putting the care of her sister ahead of her own needs. Logan seems gruff and bossy, but he’s a sweetheart underneath it all, willing to do anything to protect Carol and Persephone. I didn’t realize that this is part of a series, so now I need to go look for the other books. It’s also the first book I’ve read from this author that’s not part of her Bones MC series, and this is a nice change.
