“I wasn’t ready for this. Hannah deserved a man who was whole, not a broken shell. But I couldn’t resist her. Couldn’t resist this. It felt too good. And would that be so bad? To have something that felt good for once?”Leo Miles came home broken—wounded and scarred. It’s been five years, and he hasn’t left his family’s land. Not once. It’s not much of a life, but the way he looks now, he prefers … way he looks now, he prefers to stay hidden.
His only reprieve is her voice. He puts on his headset, logs in to his game, and she’s there. They talk while they play, sharing everything but personal details. She’s his best friend—his happy place—even though he doesn’t know her real name.
Until one day, he hears a voice he recognizes.
Meeting Hannah Tate in person rocks the reclusive Leo’s world. And discovering she’s in trouble—serious trouble—changes everything.
Hannah is Leo’s every fantasy come true. And the badass gamer girl is determined to break through his defenses. But between the mess that is his life, and the threats to his family’s safety, he can’t be anyone’s hero. Least of all hers.
But maybe they both need saving.
Author’s note: A wounded hero who’ll squeeze your heart. A girl in trouble. And the family who won’t let either of them down.
The Miles Family is best enjoyed in order.

loved this ending to the miles family and so will you..
This story touched my heart even more than I expected. I’ve read all the Miles stories and knew this one was going to affect me on a deep level. This was a story that was both about the journey and the destination. It checked all the boxes and brought all the feels even some you weren’t expecting. Leo’s life until now has been an enigma. Those of us who love this author’s work have been waiting patiently for Leo’s story. She didn’t disappoint. I don’t know how she comes up with the situations within her story but she is a master at her craft. She is more than one dimensional or one genre. I say this cause each character that has their own story is different from the other character’s story and each posses a unique identity but they all blend. Her stories make you laugh, cry, swoon and are so darn romantic but she also brings intrigue, mystery and drama.
Leo’s evolution will get to your heart but you will also have hope. Like I said this story is about the journey and the destination. The subject matter is so current and yet in a way it’s timeless because there’s always something that happens where you have to decide to either stay where you’re at or face your fear. I want to talk about this so hard but it would not be fair to the author or the reader. You deserve to enjoy the fullness of this story.
You will fall in love with Hannah. I don’t do spoilers so you have to read the book. You just have to.
Lucky us, we get to meet up with characters we’ve come to know and love. Maybe that didn’t bring big smiles to my face!
This is a story that you will want to re-read again. I actually went back and reread one of the former stories.
Do yourself a favor and read this book it will touch parts of your heart you didn’t know existed. To the author I say, “This is so much more than well done.”
Amazing!!!
Holy hotness!! I was expecting Leo’s story to be angsty but the heat was beyond anything I could have imagined. And the drama!!! The suspense had me drawn in and rooting for a happy ending. I can’t wait to read Ben and Shannon’s story and fingers crossed that it’s not the end of the Miles family
HOLY CRAP! I’ve always loved Claire’s writing but this book… OMG! Claire slayed it! It is beautiful, it is perfect, it is amazeballs!!! I highly suggest reading the ENTIRE series!
badger and gigz had me since the first pages from far away they felt something for each other their voices and their chemistry was impeccable. Once they meet in real life Hannah and Leo are able to continue their relationship and its even better than what they expect but can the secrets keep them apart or make them stronger.
I was so looking forward to Leo’s story and was not disappointed. It was great seeing Leo come out of hiding and begin to heal on the inside. Hannah was a very likable heroine who reminded me of a tamer Zoe once she found her freedom and felt accepted. Cooper is still my favorite Miles character but they are all lovable. I cannot wait to read Gaining Miles which we got a sneak peek of at the back of Hidden Miles. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.
I’m a huge fan of Claire Kingsley’s work. All of it. The Miles family books, however, have captured me like no others. Leo is the last of the Miles siblings to get a book, and he was worth the wait. Leo goes to war as a young, happy guy. He comes back mentally, emotionally and physically damaged. He returned to his family’s home and never left. His agoraphobia is written with a gentle hand, but the anxiety is palpable. Hannah stumbles into his path first as an online friend, then in real life. This book is Kinglsey at her best. Layered characters, hard words to read, funny situations (what’s a Miles book without a few Cooperisms?), a mystery solved. While a novella is promised for two characters that have played key roles since the beginning, this is the end of the Miles siblings books. I will miss them – I’ve genuinely loved being in their world. Ms. Kinglsey is a great “world builder” – as a ready, you are embraced by the people and places she writes about. Read these books from the beginning. They’re stand-alone, but not really. The emotion begins with the first page of the first book and builds from there. Enjoy! (still #teamroland)
Claire’s ability to deliver a poignant story of passion, family, and love can’t be duplicated. She just pulls you in with her prose and pulls your heartstrings to the brink of helplessness. In this latest saga we meet Leo broken acrophobic suffering PSTD and Hannah a scared women trapped in an abusive relationship with a cop. Leo and Hannah know each other only from gaming. This is their story as fate brings them together at a wedding on Leo family’s property and a reservation app at the desk that isn’t working. This is their story of healing, life and love. A five plus star read that you won’t entries put down as you laugh, cry, and feel every emotion. I can’t wait to revisit this story again.
Leo and Hannah are perfection from moment one. So many places in this book tugged on heartstrings until my chest hurt. From the first moment he hears her voice, and knows she’s there, through the bonus epilogue and brothers being brothers, Claire Kingsley brought Leo the story that needed to be told.
A phenomenal story of heartbreak, forgiveness, redemption, and funny Cooperisms! Thank you for giving one of the most realistic glimpses into a life filled with anxiety and ptsd I’ve been blessed enough to read.
This is one of those books that is a bit sad and really heartfelt then BOOM, adrenaline is running and wow its steamy too.
Leo is everything we hoped he’d be. We’ve been waiting for a while to hear his story and i am NOT disappointed at all.
It takes alot for a book to make me cry, and i cried twice in this book. The feelings are real and it’s interesting to hear from the perspective of a person who has suffered severe trauma.
The Miles family books are amazing and Leo and Hannah’s book is not yet the finale. I do believe a Novella is coming to complete the series. Reading them in order will definitely be beneficial for the series to make sense in terms of character development.
I 100% recommend this series.
Leo’s story is definitely the one I’ve been waiting for. I have loved getting to know this family and fallen in love with them a little more in every book. I knew Leo’s story was going to be special. He is such a damaged soul and I knew the woman that pulled him out of his own head was going to be something special. Hannah and Leo’s story evoked all sorts of emotions as this broken man pieces himself together with the help of the love of his life. I loved the involvement of all of the Miles family members in this story. We get to truly see the special relationship they all have. Great read!
Sometimes when you look forward to a character for so long, you end up setting your expectations too high. You build them up in your head in a way that no author could ever actually do them justice. Thankfully, Claire Kingsley not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. I love Leo and Hannah!
This book has a little bit of everything. Wounded soldier, fierce heroine, family, suspense, and so much love. I thought I loved this series before, but this topped it all! Leo is my favorite kind of hero. He’s a little broken, but he pushes through. He may not be Mr. Sunshine, but he loves with all he has, and he is a fierce protector. And Hannah is perfect. She has her own struggles to overcome, but she is passionate and the kind of girl I want to be friends with.
Once I started reading, I couldn’t put this book down. I NEEDED to know what was going to happen. It was fast paced, and the writing kept me engaged. This isn’t the kind of book you read over the course of several days, it is the kind you devour whole and wish for more.
The best part of this series is the overlapping of stories within this family. I love all of these characters, and I love that each book included the whole family. There is a subplot that runs through this whole series and had me hooked the whole way through. My only regret is that we have only one novella left. I’m not ready to be done with the Miles family yet. I know I will revisit them time and time again.
If I thought I wanted Coop’s story, it was nothing compared to how much I wanted to see the quiet, silent, scarred Leo find love.
I really wanted to see how he would be brought out of his shell, but more than that I needed to know WHO could do it.
And now I have the answers to both of those questions.
I am so happy and full of love for this couple. You’ll love them too. Every Miles member deserves an HEA and our broody Leo finally has his.
I have been following Claire Kingsley’s Miles Family Series since the beginning. . . and while I’m absolutely crazy about this family, it was the middle brother, Leo who captured my interest.
I’ve always been drawn to the tortured, broken hero-one who carries his scars both inside and out–one who also possesses a beautiful and kind spirit. But no matter what demons he faces, he will fight to protect his family and everyone he cares about with the heart of a lion. So, I guess it goes without saying that I’d been anxiously awaiting to read Leo’s story, and was super excited to get my hands on an ARC of Hidden Miles.
As the title suggests, Leo kept himself in seclusion on the land that held his family’s winery after nearly dying years ago on a classified mission in the Army. This same tragedy where he lost his brethren also left him physically and emotionally scarred. Leo was determined to stay hidden away–that is until he came face-to-face with the woman he’s been enchanted with online for years, his gaming partner, Hannah. Meeting her was just the catalyst he needed to face those demons that kept him in hiding for far too long.
I loved everything about Hannah. She was not only open and honest with Leo, but she was also kind and understanding. Hannah recognized that he had hidden scars beneath the surface but never pushed him. I also loved that she didn’t spend time wallowing in her own mistakes and problems. She owned up to them when she was finally able to see reason, and set about to make things right.
Did I mention that these two also had chemistry in spades?! I mean seriously smokin’ hot! The sexual tension . . . the smallest and briefest of touches . . . the looks . . . Oh, yes! Those smoldering looks across the room that were hot enough to set the place on fire! And that sexy moment when Hannah finally realized that she had to take matters into her own hands, knowing what she has to do to push him over the edge–pure hotness! From there, it was like someone flicked on a hidden switch inside Leo, and holy moly! The scenes between him and Hannah couldn’t have been sexier!
These two have become my favorite couple of the entire series so far! My heart turned over in my chest seeing Leo and Hannah become each other’s anchors. The obstacles they faced and overcame together–loved it!
I also enjoyed seeing the Miles Family doing what they do best–being there for each other, bonding together, and welcoming others who needed refuge and care into their fold with open arms. I did, however, want to see more interactions between Leo and Hannah’s ex. A fierce and protective Leo is also a very sexy, but lethal Leo. I wanted to see him use that on the ex more. Just because! But really, this is my favorite of the series–just as I knew it would be. Thank you for making Leo’s story worth the wait!
This book deserves infinity stars.
Claire Kingsley, expanded her writing by leaps and bounds.
I’ve always had a healthy obsession for the Miles series, but now I think I may have crossed a line.
Leo, is a man who feels as though he is a broken shell.
He came back from serving his country with half of his body burned and disfigured.
He has had a woman in his head for years.
Everytime he slips away into a different world, he becomes the person he wishes he could still be and she is there with him.
Hannah, aka Gigz, is in an abusive relationship with a cop.
She escapes her world by playing games on line with Badger, aka Leo.
They talk about everything, except personal details, to each other through headsets and have become each other’s best friend.
When, Hannah, must go to a wedding at Leo’s winery, he just happened to hear her voice.
It’s her, he knows it.
He’s heard it for over three years.
It’s the voice that came him down when the panic attacks start.
It’s the voice he dreams about.
He knows it’s her. His Gigz.
When Hannah, see Leo, she doesn’t understand why, but she is so intensely drawn to him.
When she goes home, she confesses this to Leo and he knows by the description that it’s him, but how does he tell her, does he want to?
Thank goodness we have the legendary Cooper Miles with his brilliant relationship advice.
What would we all do without him?
His wisdom is astonishingly brilliant.
“Emotional jumper cables…It totally works. Everyone’s battery gets low sometimes. Emotional jumper cables, man. It’s a thing.”
When Hannah’s, relationship takes a turn for the worst, she needs to put some distance between her and her son to be abusive ex.
She finds herself back at the winery, looking for the man she was so drawn to.
Leo, wants to protect her. He sees the bruises, but his PTSD does not allow him to leave the family winery.
For five years, he’s never stepped foot off the property.
When Hannah goes back to get her stuff, to stay at one of the cottages, her boyfriend finds her and puts her in the hospital.
Leo, must fight against everything to get to her and bring her back up him.
This is a story of two broken souls, who have been friends for a long time and help each other to heal wounds that they never thought could ever be healed.
A beautiful, soulful, heartening love story, where they become each other’s rescuers.
The characters are so we’ll developed, that if you ever pull up at Salishan’s, you know the Miles family will be there.
Counting the days to Shannon and Ben’s Epic saga.
Oh, I was so looking forward to Leo’s story and the author did not disappoint!
“I was in a tunnel of midnight black and she was the light at the end of it.”
Leo Miles hides himself away on his family winery estate never venturing across the boundary lines into the world beyond Salishan. Scarred inside and outside, his main solace is Gigz, his female gamer friend who he has been playing online with for years. He’s never met her face to face nor does he know who she is in real life. Until, one day, he recognises her voice during a wedding at the winery. Seeing her turns his world upside down.
“My body lit up at the sight of him, a rush of heat scorching me from the inside.”
Hannah Tate is stuck in a tense relationship that’s been over for months. However, she doesn’t know how to escape. One blow up results in her coming face to face with the mystery stranger she saw at a recent wedding – only to discover that he’s her online gamer friend.
“When I opened my eyes, Leo stood above me, his gaze hungry. Aggressive. Predatory.”
This was a fantastic story! Leo and Hannah were made for each other. I loved how Leo’s feelings for Hannah pushes him out of his comfort zone and makes him behave in ways that felt beyond him before he knew her. My heart broke for him as he battled against his fears. Hannah was so caring and patient with him, and I admired how she gently forced him into moving their friendship into new territory. Both were broken people but I loved the joy and happiness they found in each other. Their sexual connection was off the charts! I adored Hannah’s trust in him and the way Leo’s confidence grew – indeed, he was pretty fierce and commanding in the bedroom. He was in the dark for so long and Hannah breathed new life into his existence. Loved this book so much!
Just when I thought I couldn’t love the Miles family more, we get Leo’s story and, man, is it a good one. After being injured overseas during his time in the military, Leo has lived on his families land and has not stepped off of their land for any reason since he’s returned home. Because of his trauma, he has to make himself leave his house daily so he won’t hide himself away from the world. He finds his escape playing computer games on line with others he as become friendly with over the years, but there is one gamer he likes to play with more than others and he’s nicknamed her Gigz.
Hannah Tate also finds her escape in computer games, but instead of escaping the world she is trying to forget her boyfriend who is becoming more and more abusive with her. She, too, has a favorite gamer who gives her peace and comfort in the midst of her chaotic life and she’s nicknamed him Badger.
Watching these two come together – each of them having to deal with their own things, but making each other better – was amazing to see. I loved all all the interactions with the rest of the Miles family. Cooper was still his quirky lovable self. And I am so glad that the trouble with their dad is finally put to rest!!
If you have not read any of the Miles’ stories, you should start at the very beginning! It’s totally worth it!!
This book was so worth the wait.
I loved when Roland and Zoe got their second chance romance.
I cheered when Bryncess and Chance got their HEA.
I swooned with each ridiculous, yet charming stunt Cooper pulled to sweep Amelia off her feet.
But Leo? Leo Miles was the one I was waiting for. He was the isolated and lonely hero whose disfigured flesh only hinted at the pain and scarring on the inside. And he was the one who deserved absolution and adoration the most.
Besides his family, the only person who had managed to bring him any solace during those empty years, and a even a spark of occasional joy, was someone he would never meet in real life. But then he heard her voice in a familiar place and his whole world turned upside down.
Some say that heroes aren’t born, they’re made – and if that’s the case, then Leo was the exception to that rule. Even the pain and fear that had gripped him for years wasn’t enough to stop him from protecting the ones he loved. His journey from affliction, to forgiveness, to rehabilitation was almost as difficult and painful to navigate as his initial injuries. But thanks to a scrappy, brave, yet equally as damaged heroine, they both come out stronger because of it. This book had me tied up in knots, (the good and the bad,) but I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome for our Hidden Miles.

Oh my word! I absolutely LOVE EVERYTHING about Leo & Hannah! These two are just the sweetest, some of the most genuine characters that I’ve read about in a while. I have enjoyed the entire Miles Family Series, however this one is hands down my favorite. Leo was so worth the wait!
Whoa. Leo Miles is a veteran who suffers from PTSD. He’s the recluse, he holds everything inside. His family helps him, loves him and supports him.
Hannah is escaping from an ex. It’s not pretty. She’s been isolated and doesn’t know where else to go.
The vulnerability of these characters is a stunning and hauntingly vivid portrayal of things that aren’t spoken about. I think that Claire Kingsley’s delicate and light-hearted secondary characters made this story believable and realistic.
Another great chapter of the Miles.
