Kat and Drew were best friends as children. Drew moved away but gave her a necklace with half a heart and he had the other half. Almost twenty years later he’s back but engaged to her best friend. I really enjoyed this book.
Kat and Drew were childhood best friends. Then, at the age of eight Drew’s family moved to Guam. On the day he moved, he gave Kat half of a friendship heart. She has worn it ever since, but they have never spoken again.
Since then, Kat has been busy baking up a storm. One day, her boss tells her to go out and greet a patron who wants to meet the chef. She comes face-to-face with Drew. Except, he’s not the sweet little boy she once knew. He’s a smokin’ hot man who is engaged to her current best friend, Parker. What is worse, her replacement friend Parker wants her to plan the wedding. Can Kat plan the wedding of the boy she once loved to her friend without getting burned?
I loved the sweet romance, the boy next door tension, and the themes of self-esteem and doing what is best.

This book was such a huge disappointment. I thought the first book in this series was SO cute so I was so excited to start the second book but I didn’t like this one. I really liked Kat. She was a kindhearted person who always put others first. She was by far the best part of this book. Her and Muriel. I didn’t like Drew or Parker at all though and it’s hard to enjoy a romance novel where the main male character is so unlikable. Falling in love while you’re engaged? Loving two women? Not romantic. I’m disappointed and I hope that book 3 is more like the first book.

This is a sweet and sexy second chance romance between Kat and Drew who were best friends before he moved away with his family. The author brings drama, humor and tons of emotions and does a great job bringing the story to life with her descriptive writing and detailed scenes. It’s an entertaining story, moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading.

Drew and Kat were best friends 20 years ago until he moved away with his military family. He’s back in her employer’s bakery, looking very handsome and seeming to have a connection again with Kat until she finds out he’s engaged to her friend Parker. Kat was hurt recently by her ex who used her and then ran away and is the reason she racked up debt and lost her dream of having her own bakery. She is not a boyfriend stealer, but Drew keeps throwing up vibes like she’s the one he really wants. What annoyed me was Drew couldn’t just break it off with Parker when he was really only marrying her out of obligation, which she kept throwing in his face. I don’t know why she would want to be with someone she didn’t have a lot in common with and would always look at as second best. Poor Kat is hurt again by a man who can’t make up his mind.
