Why does this keep happening to me?For the second time, I’ve had to quit my job because my boss can’t keep his hands to himself.I’ve already been blackballed from one career, forcing me to start over, and now I have to do it again.I have no idea how I’m going to do that, but a trip to Maine to visit my best friend is the perfect place to start. Returning though, brings me face-to-face with the … face-to-face with the man who’s been on my mind day and night for months.
Sheriff Ryan Taylor is good-looking, cocky, fills out his uniform perfectly, and is capable of making me forget who I was before him, which scares me more than anything.
That’s why I have to keep my distance.
Until a massive snowstorm hits, and I’m stranded with barely any food, no working phone, and no way to leave.
Ryan comes to me like a white knight, except he has more than a simple rescue in mind. He wants me to stay with him until the storm passes, making it that much harder to keep my distance from the man I want more than anything when he’s going to be right down the hall.
It turns out though, that he has very persuasive ways of getting me to give up the one thing I’ve held onto with a vice-like grip, dissolving it under his touch. My control.
But I’m the girl who doesn’t get attached. So when things get too real, too fast, I do the only thing I can think of. Run.
The good sheriff isn’t one to give up, though.
**Author’s note: This is not a holiday or Christmas themed book, just a steamy winter romance!

This is the 2nd book in the A Pine Cove Novel series and it doesn’t disappoint. It is a well written story as is the one before it that will hold your interest until the very last page. This is Ashley Ames and Sheriff Ryan Taylor’s story. The Characters are believable and show heaps of chemistry.
Great read that had you laughing and sighing nearly at the same time. Can’t wait for the next installment in the series.

The second book in the A Pine Cove Novel series a well written steamy story that held my interest until the end. I enjoyed reading Ashley Ames and Sheriff Ryan Taylor’s story. I want to read the rest of this series.
Loved It. I loved the story and all the characters. Great read funny and sexy. This is a town I would like to live in. I will read the next one in the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A very good read and second book in this small town series. The characters were well developed and relatable. The story was funny, steamy and heartwarming.
Ashley Ames quits her job as a bar tender after her boss tries to molest her at work. Looking for a break she calls her bestie Ally in Maine and rents a cottage. Ryan Taylor is the sheriff of Pine Cove and Ally’s future brother in law. He and Ashley had a hookup at his parents’ barbeque several months ago. As soon as she hits town she runs into Ryan and their attraction is as strong as before. They get a blizzard and he rescues her from the cottage and brings her to his home. They start a steamy no strings relationship. After hearing Ryan tell his brother she doesn’t mean anything to him, she leaves town and gets into a car crash. They eventually work out their differences and get a HEA.

Ashley is having a really bad time, quitting her job, not being able to talk to her mom and needing some space to think. Her friend Ally, from Pine Cove will welcome here there for a while, but that also means she will have to confront the sheriff, Ryan, who she had a passionate interlude with last summer. Off she goes to a rental house in Pine Cove and a snow storm ensues, causing all kinds of grief. The characters keep getting more detailed and more backstories to round them out. The romance is a roller coaster ride as things het heated, then off due to miscommunication. The stress of not knowing which direction her life should take from here, going back to New York or staying in Pine Cove. Twists and surprises galore before things settle in a rhythm that finishes this story off nicely.

YOU CAN’T FIGHT WHAT IS MEANT TO BE
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Ashley Ames is a woman who men think they can touch and love without her permission. She is also a strong, independent woman who can’t see what she really needs since the death of her father. She meets Ryan Taylor when she and her friends have a weekend with their best friend, Ally. Ryan is everything she wants and needs but she is terrified to take the chance. After an encounter with another handsy boss that forces her to quit her job, she returns to Maine and Ally, only to run into Ryan again. The character interaction is worth the read.
I really enjoyed Ryan and Ashley’s story, I loved Pine Cove. This was a really heartwarming amazing story.
The second book in Rebecca Gannon’s Pine Cove series, A Maine Reaction, tells the story of Ashley and Ryan in a sexy, steamy and beautiful small town romance. Ashley has just quit her second job in six months because of a handsy jerk of a boss, and flees to visit her best friend Ally in Pine Cove, Maine, to clear her head. She has barely been in town when she runs into Sheriff Ryan Taylor, the man she had a one-night stand with seven months ago on her last visit to town. Ryan is the perfect book boyfriend (must be a Taylor brother trait 😉 ) – protective, big and sexy, passionate, and positively swoon-worthy. The chemistry between the fiercely independent Ashley and stalwart protector Ryan is scorching, and it burns so explosively that when a winter snow storm hits stranding Ashley without electricity, it could almost power all of the generators in town.
Of course, Ashley is impulsive and has a penchant for running when things get too real or she gets scared; but, fortunately, Ryan has a good set of handcuffs and he knows how to use ’em.
This novel is a beautiful small town romance, with fabulous supporting characters (Alex, Courtney) and some that feel like old friends (Jake, Ally). Rebecca Gannon has spun gold with this series, and Pine Cove is a must-visit destination for anyone that loves small towns and a sexy, steamy, passionate love story.

Another great read by Rebecca Gannon. This is the story and Ashley and Ryan. Ashley has had a rough time on the job front. The 2 bosses she has had both thought it would be ok to be handsy with her when they felt like it – even when she said no. The first boss had her blackballed from the legal industry after her rejection. The second boss, she had had it and took matters into her own hands and kneed him and ran off with all the tips from the bar she worked at. She ends up in Pine Cove where 7 months prior she had sex in the woods with Ryan. Ryan is the sheriff in the small town and hasn’t thought much of any other woman since that night.
Great and realistic storyline. The characters draw you in. The scenes are so well detailed you feel like you are right there. There is passion, sparks, chemistry, and a little drama. Ashley is stubborn, yet strong and Ryan, well he’s a caring, sexy, strong, kinky little thing!
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I am sure it will be just as good as the first 2.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy through Hidden Gems ARCs for an honest review.
I received a copy of this book through Hidden Gems. I voluntarily chose to review this book. Loved the story. This is a well written story and the characters are awesome. This was a longer read but it was a quick easy read for me. I will encourage everyone to get this one it is worth your time. I liked it so much I want to continue with the rest of the series. I can’t wait to see what the other characters are doing.
Baby, it’s cold outside!
Even though much of the story takes place during a snow storm, things sure were hot and steamy in this second book set in small town Maine. The majority of the story took place over a very brief period of time and there was not as much interaction with other characters.
I liked how Ashley was a contradiction of tough yet tender. She was fiercely independent yet deep down loved it when Ryan was protective and caring towards her. As the town sheriff and oldest brother, Ryan was used to be in charge and making the decisions so I thought it was fun when Ashley gave this alpha a run for his money. Ashley had to do a lot of soul searching but I was pleased that she was able to work through the obstacles and ultimately find meaning and belonging.
Whilst I really enjoyed it, I didn’t find it as all encompassing as the first book. I do however look forward to finding out about the next friend to find love in beautiful Pine Cove.

This is an Insta-Love story. I liked this book. My main problem with this book is Ashley’s waffling throughout the whole book. It drove me bonkers to read it. The story is only part believable as we hooked-up once with no talking or anything and now I can’t stop thinking about you. Seven months later we spend a week together and to me little talking but hey I can’t let you go ever. I will say again I did like this book I just don’t think I liked Ashley all that much and that hindered the story overall.
*I received a free copy of this book from Hidden Gems and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion*
Hot and steamy enough to melt snow. Ryan is a smoking hot small town Sheriff with a dominant side. Ashley is a beautiful girl who always seems to attract the wrong men. These two have a sizzling attraction from the time they first meet and no amount of trying to deny it will keep them from giving in to temptation. Their story is also one of friendship and female insecurities that Ashley has to deal with in the workplace. It is a well crafted love story which you will enjoy getting into.
Ashley has had a pretty bad year and to top it all off she loses another job. Each lost job was because some man decided that she wanted them and refused to take no for an answer. Taking time off she goes to visit her friend and runs into the one man she didn’t want to see. Ryan who is the sheriff of the town. They had one intense intimate fling that left her leaving him behind and now the star of all of her nights dreams. Ryan takes one look at Ashley and knows that what they had was not a fluke and has to come up with a way to get her to take a chance on them having a happy life together.

I enjoyed this book more than the first! While I did enjoy Ally and Jake from the first, I liked Ashley’s story even more.
This story is more of a slow burn than the previous one, and I really enjoyed that. It gave more time to build up the tension between Ashley and Ryan and allowed for more of Ashley’s personality to show up.
She’s known as the loud mouth of her friend group, and she can be just as stubborn as the rest of them. I liked that she was the one who typically called her friends out and in this book, her friends were there for her telling her what was going on while she was busy figuring out her own feelings.
Her relationship with her father is probably one of my favorite things about this book. Even though he died before the events of the story, she still lives by the words he told her and that has made her a strong woman.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series!!
Note: this is the second book in the Pine Cove series; reading the first is not necessary to understanding this story. Though, I would recommend reading it before this one since there are minor spoilers for the first in the second.
