One coastal town full of memories, three boys she used to know.Fleeing her abusive ex, a dead-end job and no prospects for anything better, Mia returns to the coastal town where she used to spend her summers as a kid. She hopes that sorting through the old things in her grandma’s house may give her an idea of what she wants to do with her future. What she didn’t expect was to run into the three … run into the three boys who used to make her heart race.
It starts with Dylan, the brainiac, now a maths teacher at a nearby secondary school. Then Mal, the joker, who plays guitar in a band and composes music. And finally, Tom, the protector, a single dad who works as a carpenter.
But dark shadows hang over them, they all have demons in their past, and secrets. The guys she meets aren’t the same as the boys she used to know eight years ago, but neither is Mia, who may be keeping the biggest secret of them all.
This is the first novella in the six-part long Scarred Cliff serial, a reverse harem #WhyChoose story. This novella may include any of these elements: steamy scenes, ‘I need tissues NOW’ moments, cries of ‘why, oh, why’ and cliffhangers that make you bite your nails (and curse the author). This story includes MF and MM scenes.
Author note: This series deals with topics which can be hard for some people, like abuse by a partner and the fallout of the suicide of a side character (which happened in the past but plays an important part in this story).

A story about lost friendship and dealing with what life brings you.
As a young girl, Mia spent her summers with her grandmother and met Alex, Dylan, Tom and Poppy and became friends and first love. When Mia becomes pregnant, she doesn’t come back in the summers, dilutes their friendship and everyone lives his own life. They have all experienced their own mistakes and experienced sorrow. When Mia returns after 8 years old feelings come back up.
The story ends with an open end where many scenarios where the story can go. If I could choose a follow-up, I hope that the 3 men and Mia choose each other, not that they have to choose 1 because society would expect this. I like to read about the change in Mia after being with old friends for a few days. It sounds as if she is overwhelming her experiences. The men also seem to see the future brighter with her arrival, although they all think that Mia will never choose them, which of the 3 will get a relationship with her. Their uncertainties and demons prevent them from thinking of a happy future.
A short story with many side roads that make you long for a second part

Having not read anything written by these authors I wasn’t sure what to expect. After using a box of tissues from ugly crying, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that HER ESCAPE left me wanting more from Skylar Heart and Layla Heart.
The storyline is so intriguing that I wasn’t sure where it was taking me. It kept me entranced from start to finish. That’s a very good thing. The characters are not only endearing but spellbinding and left me wanting to know more about each and every one of them. I could actually feel the emotions as I read them. The authors are that good.
To sum it up: I was upset that the book ended, but I’m thrilled that there will be a Scarred Cliff 2! Not soon enough for me! This story gets a solid 5 STARS from me…and then some.
This story is filled with secrets and emotion. I love how much this book sets up the serial. It introduces the characters well and give a bit a background and a glimpse of their present life, without giving much away. This is well written and has a great and intriguing story. This packs an emotional punch as you have not one but four people who are hurting and broken.

This was an incredibly good read. I was hooked from the moment that I picked it up and read the blurb. It moves along at the perfect reading speed which makes it an enjoyable read. The characters are so real that you feel as though you know them personally and the story will keep your interest throughout until the very end and then you are wanting more. This is a fantastic read that must be read.
I recieved this book as a ARC.
This is a wonderful start to this series. It is a very heartfelt story with a few triggers. I love the different povs. I can’t wait to see how the story will play out. I really hope mia, Dylan, mal, and Tom have a hea.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review
Short and interesting story, it’s the start of a group of old friends coming back together as they all have personal crisis.
I enjoyed the writing style but the story didn’t get into enough details to make me really invested in it. It was good enough that I’ll read the next in the series to see how it plays out. Definitely worth the quick read.
This is an ARC from the author and I’m leaving a voluntary review.
This is a nice short read. It introduces five characters. Mia, Dylan, Mal, Tom and Elly. It explains their stories very well and gives enough background information to want more.
I hope to find out more about these characters as the series goes on.
A great start, I really need to know what happens next! I want more of the characters backstories which I’m sure will be told in the next novellas.
The characters were well detailed and the interesting storyline captured my attention from the very beginning and wouldn’t let me go until the very last page!
