One night to be someone else.
Mila Day had plans. When her lover demands she give up her dreams to be a trophy wife, she leaves. Wanting to forget the wasted years, she ends up at a party in the next state, craving one wild night of abandon. It was exactly what she wanted.
No strings.
No names.
But it’s not exactly what she gets. Six years later, she’s a happy high school teacher with a … high school teacher with a beautiful daughter she will always Cherish.
No regrets.
Kyle Blake is a fireman who has been burned. He’s happy alone until he hears joyous laughter next door. He finds it hard to resist Mila, and her little girl, who steal his heart.
When pieces of her past surface, she’ll question everything.

Its a no for me. There was a emotionally abusive reaction and no emotional abuse. She acted like she had zero self esteem. The whole book was her being a fraidy cat with nothing to be afraid of. Her past relationships didn’t justify her behavior. Her relationship with her mother didn’t justify her behavior. Paul’s behavior wasn’t the cause of it because she faced him down no sweat. She has a complete personality change by the end of the book, and there’s nothing to justify it. They have a lot of sex and he says she’s marvelous–there I ruined the book. That’s the entirety of their relationship.
This was a good book, I enjoyed the story and the characters.
Prologue hooked me, went downhill from there. Insipid plot…poor character development…poor dialogue. At about 70% the story picked back up, finally with a bit of depth.
easy read, loved the characters and setting
Loved the characters; couldn’t put it down
Predictable
Very predictable; very boring. Not realistic. Absolutely no character development.
An enjoyable read with some interesting and touching surprises
This book was a sexy fun read and from time to time through out the book it was a page turner. Characters weren’t always predictable which kept it interesting. I enjoyed this book.
This was an entertaining read with enough backstory for Mila but almost nothing for Kyle. It wasn’t very realistic to have a one night stand and end up pregnant with no names. Kyle knew who Barb was the night of the Halloween party. He could have looked her up. He recognized her immediately when he saw her six years later at Mila’s. If they could make the connections years later, it should have been much easier 6 weeks after the party. Mila simply went back to the house and he no longer lived there. We don’t know if he tried to find her. He just told everyone about the little devil.
Mila’s character just wasn’t believable. She could have a steamy one night stand with someone and not know his name, but was so sweet that she wouldn’t stand up for herself. Her daughter couldn’t use “mean” to describe someone who was a real b-tch. She could have over the top sex with Kyle, but was afraid to let him know she had feelings for him. Yes Mila, you are a slut. Own it.
Sure, she was afraid of being hurt again. The part with her ex-husband and him trying to be named father of Cherish was so crazy, it shouldn’t have been a part of the book. It added nothing to the book and bogged it down. It also made me extremely angry with her mother.
Would have given 2 1/2. It was just ok. A little too perfect and sweet. I like syrupy stories but it was a little too much. Some of the dialogue was unrealistic and the characters overshare a lot.
OK Romance. Tried and true plot
Steamy love
Good drama – the heroine had a lot to deal with in this story. Loved how her man stuck by her.
Absolutely amazing read
Great book.
Enjoyed this book and happy to find a new author!
Mila is a single mom and teaches high school science. She moves to a new town close to her aunt. Her next door neighbor is a hunky fireman, Kyle. She has had a couple of bad relationships and is very weary of dating again. But Kyle is persistent and slowly breaks down her walls.Mila never knew who her daughters father was, she had a one night stand and they didn’t exchange names and didn’t take off their masks. Then her ex shows up wanting a paternity test done even though she knows he’s not the father. When secrets are unveiled will it push them apart or make them stronger?
Really good story. A mean, vindictive ex, two people who wasn’t looking for love but found it, and the cutest little girl ever. Mila pushing Kyle away and then pulling him back in was a little annoying. The sex was extremely hot.
For the most part, I was bored as this book followed same theme as the other free books. Get what you pay for….
Great book. Fun characters and not too wordy. I enjoyed reading this book.
