New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, is back with a new Kincade sister and a swoon-worthy football player in an all new standalone romance that will make you believe in first crushes and true love. I’ve signed numerous players to my family’s agency—I assumed winning over my next client would be just as easy. The last thing I expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and … expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and broke my heart: only now Drew Bowman is all grown up.
Sexy. Scandal-tainted. Second-string. The crush I never got over.
I tell myself work is the reason I can’t get him out of my head. I tell him his talent far outweighs his position, and I know I can help. I lie and lie, because admitting that I want a second chance at my first love is impossible.
Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago.

I’m supposed to hate her.
I’ve been told so time and again for ten years – her father ruined our family, smeared my name before my career even began.
But that’s not what I’m feeling now.
Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my field.
Driven. Determined. Grown up. The Capulet to my Montague.
Being with her would be an unforgivable sin against my father, but I can’t resist the pull between us. Even if it means hiding what we have. Even if it means confronting the secrets I’ve always feared were lies.
Are you ready to fall for the Kincade sisters and then men who love them in K. Bromberg’s sexy, contemporary, sports romance series? These books can all be read as standalones, but you’ll enjoy reading them as a series!

I honestly don’t even know where to begin but I’m going to start with this-this book was PHENOMENAL and completely unputdownable! Hard to Score is hands down my favorite of the series. Full of emotions, relatable characters, and a love story that is truly unforgettable, Ms. Bromberg KILLED IT with this book.
Brexton and Drew’s chemistry is evident from the very first time they lay eyes on each other as adults. The history they share complicates the attraction they both feel, and they don’t know how to handle it. Neither one can fight it, but how could they ever make it work?
There’s not much more I can say other than this book was incredible! Every time I pick up one of Ms. Bromberg’s books, I’m amazed at the way she is able to weave a tale that is pure magic. And Hard to Score was magical. Highly recommend reading this book!
Hard to Score by K. Bromberg is the third book in The Play Hard Series and can be read as a stand-alone. This is Brexton and Drew’s story.
.
Brexton is a wonderful woman and a romantic at heart. She was always hopeful that something with Drew would happen since her teenage years and it was beautiful to follow along how her love for him grew through the years. She plans ahead and wants to know what’s next and that is something I could totally relate to.
.
Drew is a man with a lot of layers and page after page you discover more about him and get to see is passionate side. He is a NFL player with a lot of talent, but he is only the backup quarterback. After a fallout his family drifted further apart and his relationship with his father is very distant and his sister is a shell of her former self. I really liked how you got to see so much of the family dynamics because that was very crucial to understand him.
.
Their story begins when they are children when their fathers are best friends and both families spend a lot of time together. All is well until a scandal happened with his family. Afterwards they had no contact and were rather enemies. Only years later they meet again when Brexton wants to recruit someone from his team for her sports agency. Thereafter they reconnect on a friendly basis and I loved their honest conversations and they make a great team. The feelings and sparks are also still there and I just enjoyed this story.
.
Overall, Hard to Score is a beautiful second chance sports romance and I fell in love with the protagonist and their gorgeous story. 4,5 stars.
(ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.)
I’m just going to say that this is the best series that Miss Bromberg has written and this couple god I was rooting for them from page 1, I couldn’t put it down! I started it and got so into it that within 2 hours I was halfway done, but that’s the power that this author has with her words.. every book is better than the last! these sisters are everything!
I loved this story of Drew and Brexton! Dreadful Drew and Bratty Brexton are childhood friends and their estrangement is not of their making. Drew is a wonderful character. His determination to live a life of integrity is wrapped up in so many issues and his love of and talent in his sport, is not being fulfilled. Brexton also approaches her life and work with honesty, thoughtfulness and integrity. This is, in theory, a match made in heaven, but nothing comes easy when your principles are strong.
This is a fabulous, warm, wonderful read which I loved. Another smash it out of the park book from K Bromberg
This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Drew and Braxton’s story. Both of their families used to be very close until something happened which ruined the friendship. Braxton is sent by her dad to recruit Drew who is a backup quarterback, and to convince him to sign up with the Kincade Sports Agency which is run by her dad and his 4-daughters. The attraction between then is sizzling, but can they get past the challenges they are facing, and finally get closure. This is a well written story which is emotionally charged, humorous, and entertaining. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Hard to Score is the third book in the Play Hard series by K. Bromberg and OMG each book gets better and better. This is the story of Brexton and Drew, who used to be friends from childhood because their families used to spend a lot of time together, but then something happened and the families were separate ways because they were suffering different situations.
Drew is a football player who wants to make a career but due to his family history he has to be quiet and accept to be the second quarteback for the team, when he could be the first one. For work things Brexton and Drew find each other again, and even he feels like he should no trust Brexton’s family and her, he can denied all the chemistry and feelings that he has for her. And at the same time She is like in a break from men but she can´t denied her feeling for him.
So when they decide to see what happen if they give up to those feelings and chemistry, not everything will be easy, they will have to overcome a lot of situations, and they will have to discover the secret reason as why there families are not friends anymore.
This book is everything i love, is a sport romance and second chance romance, that you will enjoy from the beginning and you won’t be available to put it down until you finish reading the whole story.
I just have to say that i love this series so much and I’m so excited to read the last one and see these amazing sisters have ther HEA.
Hard to Score was a terrific read! I have read the previous two books in the series and am fully invested in the Kincaide sisters. Hard to Score was Brexton’s story. Brexton and Drew (the hero) had past ties. Now years later they are reunited and it was interesting to see how everything would go. It was easy to fall back into their friendship they had when they were younger. There is an underlying attraction between the two but it seems like the past might be an issue. I did enjoy how Brexton and Drew got to know each other again. Their banter and interactions were fun and flirty. I loved seeing their relationship progress from friendship to so much more. Though there are secrets and lies and heartbreak and second chances that play a major part. I was fascinated to see how things would go. Overall Hard to Score was a riveting story. It was full of emotion and heart. I have been enjoying the Play Hard series. I can’t wait for the final book.
Hard To Score is a story that will have you wishing on a star and believing in love. Brexton and Drew’s story is a friends to lovers romance with touches of a second chance romance that will take you on an emotional ride. Their story will enchant you and have you captivated and on the edge of your seat. These two will make you smile, laugh, cry and everything in between. A breathtaking romance that is equally heartbreaking and heartwarming. As these two try to pick the correct play, there will be fumbles, forward progress, interceptions and finally a touchdown for their hearts.
Here we are at book 3 and I’m completely and utterly in love with Drew Bowman and Brexton Kincade. These two made my heart sing and I couldn’t be happier that I got the chance to read their story.
It’s hard to explain what went through my head with the burden that Drew was carrying around for the last 10 years. I’m mentioned a few before but I know how hard it is to open up to people and ask for help. It’s why I loved Brexton. She was this silent force of nature that kept him grounded and a shoulder to lean on. I loved that when things got thought they didn’t shut down but just needed a few days to sort through it all.
This story had me smiling, crying and just being blissfully happy when I read the words THE END.
If there ever was a book that I would recommend by K. Bromberg –
THIS IS THE ONE!!!

You know those family friends that do everything together? That was the bond the Bowmans and Kincades had. Until they didn’t. Why? Depends on who you ask. All those years ago Brexton Kincade pined after Drew Bowman. And all these years later can she fall for the backup QB? Drew Bowman is a man on a mission. He is desperate to clear the Bowman name off any leftover negativity from his father’s alleged crimes. But how can he fall for the girl whose father was blamed for it all?
This story was full of heart, from the pain of their past to the hope for their futures. Drew is a man we all want in our circle. Brexton is the best friend we never knew we needed. While it is a standalone, it is the 3rd book in the Play Hard series and contains many of the common characters. The sports theme is not there to deter those unfamiliar with a sport — you don’t need to know anything about sports to follow the storyline. The underlying themes here are family, secrets & lies, and believing in yourself… plus let’s add some love and sex thrown in there to keep it steamy.
I would recommend this series to anyone looking for something fun to lose themselves for a bit. I’ll admit I shed a tear or two but the majority of this book is sweet and fun. Facts.
Another great book by K Bromberg. I really enjoy the Kincade sisters and their dad…they are tough but have an amazing bond and love for one another.
While Brexton is looking to recruit a football player…who happens to be a real jerk, she has a chance run-in with a crush from her childhood, Dreadful Drew. There is painful past between Drew and Brexton’s family. They have feelings for each other but are concerned about their relationship causing more harm/hardship between the families.
As Drew works through the haunts of his past he pushes everyone away, including Brexton. She refuses to give up and believes in him and his abilities as a star quarterback.
I highly recommend this book and others in the series.
I requested an arc and I am providing my honest review.
Brexton and Drew grew up together. They were best friends. Their families were best friends. Her father a sports agent and his father a NFL superstar. Until one event completely changed everything and they became forbidden to one another.
Now, years later, Brexton is a sports agent for her family’s company and Drew is trying to make it in the NFL, but the scandal of his father overshadows his skills as a player. In all the years their paths haven’t crossed, but now that they have, these two are drawn to each other. There is a connection between them that neither of them can deny.
I absolutely loved Drew and Brex. There is so much chemistry between them. I love that they don’t let the past define their present together and they spend the time to get to know each other. However, they do have to overcome what happened in the past between their families to truly put it behind them. That secret had me on the edge of my seat. I wanted to know the truth, I wanted to know what really happened all those years ago and I couldn’t read fast enough to find out.
If you’re looking for a friends to lovers, second chance, sports romance this is one to read!
Brexton and Drew have a chance meeting after not seeing each other for 10 years. Their families were close when they were kids but that all changed when their families faced tragedies at almost the same time. Brex and Drew find they are enjoying walking down memory lane together but neither one knows what will happen if their families find out.
I am loving the Kincade sisters. They are strong, sassy and love hard when they find that special man. Drew has lived his entire career in the shadow of his Dad and has given up making his own way. Brexton sees that he has so much talent and encourages him to try for more. Drew and Brex have laughter, heartbreak and so much chemistry. Drew’s story can’t help but make you love him even more. Looking forward to more of the Kincade’s!
Two childhood friends that come face-to-face again over a decade later. The families were inseparable until something that happened between them that destroyed the lifelong friendship of these two families. Brexton has always had a crush on Drew but she never thought that he would reciprocate the feelings and when everything goes down with the families they all go their separate ways and Brexton moves on with her family.
Lets get to the present where Drew is a successful NFL player, but for some reason he’s second string and no one wants to take a chance on him and put him in as a starter. He doesn’t blame the teams to feel this way about him due to rumors that swam around the league when his dad was a professional football player. Everyone thinks Drew is just like his dad and will jeopardize the team in one way or another. He’s accepted this and just sits there and watches the games on the sidelines.
Brexton is now a successful sports agent and she runs into Drew and she sees what he’s capable of. She just can’t understand why he’s being benched, she doesn’t know the real story behind Drew and his family. She seeks out Drew because her childhood feelings have resurfaced and when her and Drew strike up a friendship, they both realize that they can’t just be friends. They both have strong feelings for each other. The question is, will they be able to go out in public and let the world know about their relationship or will they have to be on the down low!
This was a great read and I was drawn to Brexton’s character. She was a fierce and strong heroine and she went for what she wanted and believed. I thought she was a great female character and loved her! She broke out from being a wallflower to a downright vixen.
I thought I loved the last book with the Kincade sisters and I did, I loved Hard to Hold, but Brexton and Drew are my new favorite. I loved everything about this story. From the moment the two saw each other again you knew they were soulmates they just had to work a little harder to get past the drama.
I am loving this series, can’t wait for more!
Another great read on the Kincade sisters!!!!! These sisters don’t disappoint!!!! Brexton and Drew knew each other since they were kids. She’s always had a crush on him since their families vacationed together every summer. Then one summer things changed between the families and they never saw each other again. Fast forward ten years later she’s a well respected sports agent and he’s an NFL Quarterback and she runs into him unexpectedly when she goes to recruit his teammate. They catch up for a little bit and leave. But she can’t get out of her head how handsome he’s grown to and he can’t turn his head on how gorgeous and stunning she’s grown into. But he had resentment towards her family and she didn’t know why. He tried staying away but he couldn’t. It was something about her that kept pulling him in; they’ve always had a connection since they were kids. This was a slow burn but not so slow but oh so worth it. Drew had a lot going on both on and off the field and he never imagined that the person to open his eyes to many things would be Brexton. She was a bada$$ just like her sisters and of course we see Finn lol. But at least in this story Finn wasn’t bad and actually saved Brexton from an uncomfortable situation. Drew and Brexton didn’t let anyone or anything get in between them. I loved that it focused on their love story and not exes. The meddling sisters as always were very entertaining and their dad is still amazing. These two combined their lives and made it work. She was so supportive and amazing!!! This story had lots of emotions and you feel sorry for Drew and everything he endured. Simply loved them!!!
I loved this book so much! I loved Brexton and Drew! I didn’t want their story to end! This one hooked me in from the very beginning. I couldn’t put it down! I pretty much read it in one sitting. Even though this is the third book in the series it does read as a complete standalone. However the other books in the series are great too so I recommend them as well! Overall there was no long drawn out unnecessary drama that takes away from the story. I would definitely recommend this book!
Received a arc for a honest review.
I feel like my feelers just took a sack from a 250 lb. linebacker after reading Hard to Score. The hurt I felt for Drew and what he has lived through left me feeling raw. My heart just hurt so bad for him. He was living in the shadows of a scandal that happened when he was a kid. One that shaped his life in such a way that he wasn’t living his best life. He didn’t let anyone in. But when his path crossed with Brexton, a friend from his past, his carefully kept world spun off its axis. Her belief in him woke him up. Her belief in him opened his eyes and made him realize he deserved better than what he was giving himself. Although, seeing her again opened old wounds and had him questioning what he believed to be the truth.
Brexton and Drew had an undeniable chemistry that burned up the pages. I loved when Drew decided to take a step back and do things the right way with Brexton. There were so many parts of this book that made me swoon. Drew’s ultimate declaration was EVERYTHING! I knew it was coming, but it didn’t stop the tears from coming to my eyes.
K. Bromberg killed it with Hard to Score. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the other two books in this series, but this is by far my favorite one so far.
I have enjoyed each series that I have read by K Bromberg. Part of the K Bromberg magic is her ability to write standalones that interconnected in a way that makes you want to invest the time in reading a series. I adore the Kincade family and I’m rooting for all their happily ever afters. This one had some interesting layers, the message as parents we do the best we can, and when we stumble we get up and try again. Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.
