New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, is back with a new Kincade sister and a swoon-worthy football player in an all new standalone romance that will make you believe in first crushes and true love. I’ve signed numerous players to my family’s agency—I assumed winning over my next client would be just as easy. The last thing I expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and … expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and broke my heart: only now Drew Bowman is all grown up.
Sexy. Scandal-tainted. Second-string. The crush I never got over.
I tell myself work is the reason I can’t get him out of my head. I tell him his talent far outweighs his position, and I know I can help. I lie and lie, because admitting that I want a second chance at my first love is impossible.
Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago.

I’m supposed to hate her.
I’ve been told so time and again for ten years – her father ruined our family, smeared my name before my career even began.
But that’s not what I’m feeling now.
Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my field.
Driven. Determined. Grown up. The Capulet to my Montague.
Being with her would be an unforgivable sin against my father, but I can’t resist the pull between us. Even if it means hiding what we have. Even if it means confronting the secrets I’ve always feared were lies.
Are you ready to fall for the Kincade sisters and then men who love them in K. Bromberg’s sexy, contemporary, sports romance series? These books can all be read as standalones, but you’ll enjoy reading them as a series!

I don’t like sports romances- well let me change that- I don’t like the idea of sports romances.
But I have a big exception to that- and that’s books by this author. Yes she’s a favorite author of mine anyway- but part of that is because she makes me like sports romances. At least her sports romances anyway.
Hard to Score is no exception. Bratty Brex and Dreadful Drew knew each other as kids, crushed on each other as teens, and were both devastated when some rift between their families broke that apart.
A chance encounter brought them back into each other’s lives and I loved watching Drew deal with falling back in love with the one person he shouldn’t. And watching Brex deal with the very real fallout!
It was hard not to fall for Drew! I can’t wait for the next bo
Oh, this wasn’t just fun and sexy, it had a hint of mystery and suspense and I felt myself on edge just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Talk about second chances! Brexton and Drew have amazing chemistry but they discover what they thought they knew years ago may have been lies. Seeing them give in to their chemistry and their future was bittersweet.
I loved Drew and Brexton’s story! It was romantic with all the feels. Every new story in this series just gets better and better. K. Bromberg always delivers with wonderful characters and a storyline that grabs you from the first page until the last. I highly recommend Hard to Score and every other book in this series.
Hard to Score is a beautiful written childhood friends to lovers story.
It is part of the “Play Hard” sports romance series but can be read as a standalone.
The book follows Brexton, one of the Kincade sisters and Drew, a talented quarterback. Close friends during their childhood and teen years, they lose touch due to a scandal between their families and reconnect 9 years later only to find that they have crazy chemistry.
As with the other books in this series, I liked both characters a lot. They are both strong, determined, beautiful people inside and out. Drew is going through a lot for most of this book. He is conflicted and hurt by the scandal that took place when he was 18 years old. And Brexton is there for him, supporting him as best she can, although she is also plagued by insecurities of her own.
I also appreciated how, as in previous books, the characters as slightly older and also the author takes this opportunity to show how hard it is for a woman to be successful in the sports management industry, a field mostly dominated by men.
k Bromberg never fails to deliver a wonderful story with her books and hard to score served up everything.
the third book in the ‘hard to’ series was amazing filled with complex leads, angsty romance and the best kind of chemistry. I love how each book focuses on one sister and that throughout we get to know them all as a family and individually, it really adds to the story.
omg the history between the two leads was everything and the angst in their second chance to be happy was something that kept me intrigued. I think they both needed to grow individually before they could get together because there was a lot (on both sides) misunderstandings, uncertainties and many secrets. My heart went on an emotional rollercoaster with these two, I loved how Braxton showed her strength during Drew’s battles.
This was a gorgeous story about closure and moving on and focusing on what truly makes you happy and about forgiveness and love.
im gonna be sad to say bye once this series is over thats for sure!

I absolutely loved this story! It has the perfect blend of family dynamics, fated lovers, and sports that made this a delicious read!
Dreadful Drew and Bratty Bex will steal your heart while they come into their own, discovering who they are, together and as their own persons.
While this is a stand-alone in a series and can absolutely be read as such without missing important details, I encourage you to read the prior books in this series so you can see how these four sisters and their father tackle the world!
A fantastic read. I adore this series and can’t recommend it enough!
This is the third book for the Kincade sisters – focusing on Brexton. This story takes us back in time. The Kincades are great friends with the Bowmans, they often went on vacations together. Its hard to fathom a childhood memory that didn’t involve them.
And Brexton Kincade has been in love with Drew for just as long. A scandal involving his father tore a rift between the two families, so imagine Brexton’s surprise when she comes across Drew years later while trying to sign his teammate. The scandal from years ago still weighs heavily on Drew but Brexton sees all his potential and worth.
As they navigate rekindling their friendship, Drew needs to confront the past to get the truth once and for all. Will it help regain some confidence? And will Drew and Brexton become more than friends? Definitely one-click this to find out.
I think this book by far is my favourite. I know Kristy struggled with this book, saying it lacked chemistry, I can safely say that she did a damn good job at fixing whatever needed to be fixed because Drew and Brexton’s chemistry was off the charts. Friends, to enemies to lovers, this couple had it all. Braxton reminds me of myself, a girl who believes in love and she found her love in Drew, she always had.
I was hooked right from the prologue and fell in love with Drew instantly. He had a troubled past and held onto a lot of anger. To finally see that anger melt away and let the only girl he’s ever truly love in was amazing. 5 star read
Hunter was by far my favourite Hard series hero, up until now. Drew has taken that spot away!
This was a fun slow burn sports romance. Brexton is a sports agent in her fathers firm Drew is the backup quarterback who once upon a time was a family friend. There is an air of mystery surrounding the reasons Brex and Drew’s families lost touch and we get the answer slowly over the book. I enjoyed finding out their back story through their shared memories they were cute and sweet. Watching them flirt around the attraction was like foreplay these two sizzle. I like that the way that the women have been portrayed in this series they are succesful determined but with a softness that is often missing in other books. Drew has a lot going on in his life with his family and it felt like he was shouldering the majority of his families burdens. I enjoyed how the story was resolved it felt realistic because not everything was perfect and that is real life. I still think Daddy Kincade is the ultimate secret matchmaker.
The next book in the Play Hard series and the third Kincade daughter. This time we have Brexton Kincade aka Bratty Brexton and Drew Bowman aka Dreadful Drew. Their second chance love story is complicated and emotional. Both are torn between their professional and personal lives, should they settle or fight for what they want. The main theme that stands out throughout the book to me is, the things parents will do to protect their children and the consequences of their actions.
Brexton visits The Raptors to see if she can persuade the young QB Justin Hobbs to leave the sisters nemesis Finn Sanderson and sign with KSM. While there a player training catches her eye. It turns out to be Drew who was her teenage crush. He took her heart when she young and deep down she knows he never gave it back, probably because he never knew he had it. She hasn’t seen him for nearly a decade which surprises her as they both involved with sports. She has no idea what happened between their dads back then but it was bad enough to sever the friendship their families had.
Drew really suffered after the scandal broke, it affected not only his family but took over his life. He still has so much anger and pent up resentment. All he ever wanted was his dad to be proud of him but he forever paying for his dad’s mistake and fighting those demons on and off the field.
They rekindle their friendship easily but both hold back at first. Drew knows his family wouldn’t like or accept it and Brex thinks her sisters will tease her over it. She always falls so quickly , a real romantic so this time she’s trying to be realistic. When they start their relationship it is all her teenage fantasies coming true. Suddenly they want the same thing which is crazy but perfect. She so off-kilter with her feelings and worried she going to get hurt again like all her previous relationships. But it is not just any man – it’s her Drew!
Their first date is very romantic and Drew so thoughtful and certainly pulled out all the stops. They date in secret which just adds another pressure on them while they attempt to figure it all out. There are so many outside influences and secrets. Drew is trying to cope with problems and prejudices that come with having Bowman as his surname. Brex cannot understand why Drew has settled for second string when he is a much better QB than Hobbs.
Neither of them can understand how their families were so close then simply disintegrated exactly when they both need the other the most. The past affects them which ever way they turn. Their history, their dads. The reader knows it is all due to the scandal that happened with his dad but the author keeps the details a mystery for ages. It continually wears Drew down, affecting all his decisions and eventually his relationship. Brex is always waiting for him to figure it all out but doesn’t want him to have to choose between her and his family. They do have a great chemistry but the issue between the families will always affect their future if not confronted. Will Drew stand up for her and his career? Will he challenge his dad? Is it unsurmountable? Will he ever get the truth and have the future he deserves? Confronting the secrets and feared lies?
Kenyon Kincade was full of insightful advice to her, stayed in the background but supported her.
I liked that he turned out to be the catalyst Drew needed to finally figure it all out. We see a little of her sisters as they try to find out who is her secret mystery man. Three Kincades down, one to go!
Overall there wasn’t enough substance for me as the whole story revolved around the one event involving his dad. Everything that happens is linked to that event and its affect on everyone, that at times the love story got lost. I did feel for Drew but felt he could have stepped up and dealt with it all sooner especially as the effect it had on this sister. For all his anger, he’d settled too easily.
I’m on an emotional high.
K.Bromberg brings all the feels and just leaves you breathless with this beautiful love story. It’s angsty and soul searching, and has all that toe curling goodness that can make you blush. This author has no trouble at all making you feel every emotion there is to feel while you turn page after page, being transported through this magical journey.
Hard To Score is the third book in the Play Hard Series featuring Brexton Kincade and Drew Bowman, an NFL Quarterback who is fighting the demons from his fathers past. It’s a story of teenage unrequited love that will change over the course of time with a lot more than you bargain for. A soul searching journey for one that will be both heartbreaking and uplifting. A past that has been forgotten, and a path of time over many years that will lead two hearts back together to navigate their way through a turmoil that is still very unclear in what it represents. It will test the strength and love that has been found by Brexton and Drew all these years later.
I love how enthralled I got while reading, in the memories that are revealed by both and how they have played out in this book. K.Bromberg has put in place the perfect play for the winning touchdown, and will have you holding your breath and cheering like your in the stands at a game.
This is book 3 in the series but it easily stands alone. It stars Brex Kincaid who is a sports agent at the sports agency her father runs and she works alongside her 3 sisters and father. This story is extremely different than the other books in the series and its heavy on football and her father plays a more important part in this story than we have seen before.
Brex grew up alongside another football family, they had a son, Drew and a daughter, Maggie and the family had a falling out after a scandal broke with Drew’s dad. After that the Kincaid’s lost their mom and so they never revisited the friendship as both families were trying to recover.
Now 11 years later Brex is visiting a quarterback her family wants to steal from super agent, Finn, when she runs into 2nd string Quarterback, Drew and she she cannot stay away. Drew and Brex had the coolest names for each other growing up, Dreadful Drew and she was Bratty Brex. I laughed everytime they used those names in the present.
This story centers on Drew and Brex’s relationship from the past and currently. Its about moving on, family and finding out the truth about the past. When this book starts Drew is extremely lonely and satisfied with his football position and Drew helps him find HIM and thats means he has confront family issues with his father and get to the truth.
While it had a lot of football in it, it was less about being an agent and more on Brex and Drew getting a second chance and facing what caused the huge rift in their families.
I loved it. It was awesome and I loved different it was from the previous two books in the series. It moves pretty fast and I really loved this story. Its a very different kind of sports romance and looks at a different side the father/son relations and football.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hard to Score by K. Bromberg is such a good read!
I found the storyline entertaining from start to end, it’s well written, well paced and all the characters added to my overall enjoyment.
I loved getting to know Brexton and Drew, watching them reconnect and give into their strong connection warmed my heart and I couldn’t get enough of them. These two are perfect for each other, they share a strong passionate love and while they had a few obstacles in their way once they were back in each other’s lives they knew the feelings they shared where not to be ignored.
Hard to Score is a beautiful and heartfelt read and an excellent addition to the Play Hard series.
Have you been waiting on Brexton and Drew’s story? You won’t be disappointed. This is the third book for the sisters, and it has all the feels and more.
First, the characters are likable and you find yourself pulling for them, and wanting to slap them at the same time…or their families. Poor Brexton and Drew basically were separated when a rift between their families was created. So, you can imagine what will happen when they meet again after all this time. Yeah, you get the picture. Second, the story is good with enough emotional plucking and drama to hold your attention. Overall, it was enjoyable, and I highly recommend it. 4 stars.
4 Stars!
Brexton Kincade is an outspoken, driven agent in Manhattan for her family’s business, Kincade Sports Management where four sisters compete for the top athletes in a male dominated industry. Brexton loves her job and is in the zone preparing to win over her next client when she has a chance encounter with the boy who gave her her first real kiss. As a teen Drew Bowman was the one guy she wished would notice her. She had a massive crush on him for as long as she could remember. Their families used to vacation together and were once inseparable. It’s been almost ten years without their paths crossing, but there was always something about him that made it hard to look away. Her teenage fantasy is now all grown up and absolutely devastating. They’d had a friendship and connection when they were kids. Could they reconnect after all these years?
Drew Bowman is a professional football player in New York who is still chasing his dreams and trying to outrun his baggage. Long ago his world was rocked by scandal and secrets and has never been the same. Most days he felt like the weight of the world was on his shoulders, and no matter what he does the past seems to overshadow the present. Then everything changes when he runs into a girl from his past. Brexton Kincade went from a great memory to the woman he couldn’t get out of his head. Their families no longer spoke, and he knew he should keep his distance, but one touch and he just craved more. When things turn complicated will he walk away or end up falling for the enemy?
Hard To Score (Play Hard #3) by K. Bromberg is a sexy, emotional friends to lovers, second chance, sports romance that will completely capture your heart! It’s full of chemistry, angst, secrets, lies, fabulous banter and forbidden love. I love this series about family and strong, confident sisters, and can’t wait for the next book!
RATING: 1/2
There is so much emotion and connection packed into this story.
Drew and Brexton have known each other since childhood, each having a secret crush on the other. After Brexton’s mother passes away and Drew’s father is entangled in career-ending controversy, their friendship is pulled apart.
When their paths cross 10-years later, they have an undeniable connection. Mix that with the issues from their past, it creates delicious tension.
As much as they both struggled to face issues from their past, they also knew each other on an incredibly deep level. I loved how they were a source of strength for the other and saw each other so clearly. Drew makes you swoon with how loving he is with his niece and how thoughtfully planned the first date he takes Brexton. Plus, their chemistry was HOT!
This is the 3rd book in the Play Hard series and can be read as a standalone.
I recommend this book to readers who celebrate strong women, swoony athletes, and couples that build each other up.

4.5 stars!
Hard to Score is the third book in the Play Hard series featuring the third Kincade daughter, Brexton. Even though two of her sisters have found love, Brexton isn’t sure it’s in the cards for her. She is focused on doing a kickass job working for her family company, Kincade Sports Management and doesn’t have time for relationships. At least that’s the case before a certain someone comes back into her life.
Brexton and Drew met as children and their families did everything together. They were best friends who shared a moment that could have been the beginning of something great if their lives didn’t change in a blink of an eye. Years later, Brexton and Drew bump into each other and that spark is still there even though Drew has been told to hate the Kincade family. Now, they have a chance to see what they could have been if they can only they keep it quiet.
Hard to Score is a forbidden sports romance that is sweet, swoony, and surprising. The storyline is captivating and the characters are fantastic. I was easily invested in Brexton and Drew, and was rooting for their happily-ever-after.
Brexton is awesome at her job. She is personable and sweet but has a backbone when it comes to dealing with guys who think they are God’s gift to women. She can hold her own while doing what she enjoys. Drew is sweet, swoony, and such a great guy. He’s a fantastic football player but he has been riding the bench during his career do to a scandal involving his father. He seems to be judged at every turn and doesn’t have many people rooting for him. That all changes when he sees Brexton again.
Drew and Brexton have an immediate attraction when they meet again but he refuses to act on it because it goes against everything his family has told him. Their once best friends are now the enemy and though Drew doesn’t have the best relationship with his family, they still mean everything to him.
However, Brexton surprises him. They connect in a way he hasn’t felt since they were kids. They really enjoy each other’s company and their friendship grows. I love that Brexton makes Drew believe in himself. She knows he’s amazing and she can’t stop from reminding him every chance she gets. She gets him to think of things about himself in a different light and pushes him to fight for what he loves. She makes him want to be the best he can be.
“You made me start to believe. You made me want. And now I have to figure out what the hell that means.”
When they attraction is too hard to deny, they take a chance and they are delicious together. Not only are they fantastic in the bedroom, their friendship becomes stronger than ever as they get to know each other again, and they truly enjoy who they both have become. It’s not easy though and they have to work around seeing each other but they make the best of it. Keeping it quiet just makes it hotter and a bit more suspenseful as I waited for the other shoe to drop.
“I can only hope that when the dust settles from the impending explosion I predict is on the horizon, I’m still standing here.”
There are twists I didn’t see coming and a bit of mystery about what went down between the two families. I was flipping pages as fast as I could not only to get to the romance but also to get the truth about the past. The flashbacks were really well done and they added a wonderful element to the story.
Overall, I really enjoyed Hard to Score. Though it’s part of a series, it can definitely standalone. It’s actually the first book I have read of the series and now, I want to go back and read Hard to Handle and Hard to Hold because I want more the Kincades! And I am so looking forward to Hard to Lose, featuring the last of the Kincade sisters to find love!
Hard To Score by K. Bromberg was an irresistible combination of swoony, sexy and angsty. The intoxicating adrenaline rush of a great sports romance came together with a heartaching love story. K. Bromberg once again delivers a power packed performance.
Brexton and Drew were childhood friends and their families were very close. Her father being the leading sports agent and his father being the NFL superstar. They had a connection for sure and it was more than friendship. But before they could explore it, Drew’s father got involved in a scandal that destroyed everything. Now years later, they meet again. Brexton is now one of the successful sports agent working for her father. Drew hasn’t been so lucky in his football career. Immensely talented but pushed to shadows for his father’s sin. Is this their second chance? Or will the lies from past will ruin them again?
K. Bromberg excels at writing broken and perfect male leads. Drew has joined that never ending list. He is so angry and frustrated and bitter. The people haven’t treated him fairly. His team management didn’t even give him a chance to show his talent. He was losing time and love for the game. My heart just couldn’t take all his pain. His life is ridden by scandals, misunderstandings and neglect from his very own family. But he still stands strong and proud. Brexton is such a beautiful soul and I love her heart. The dynamic mix of sass and sweetness. She chased Drew’s demons away even when Drew wasn’t ready to face them. It was an uphill battle. And the author took me from one emotional extreme to another. It was dreamy. Swoonworthy. So traditionally romantic. And super sexy. And then it was heartbreaking. Angsty. Epic emotions in every layer. I just couldn’t stop reading it.
Hard to Score by K. Bromberg is the epitome of a perfect sports romance. Sinful. Soulful. Sensational. All the sweet and explosive emotions in an enticing package.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
Hard to Score is the third title in the Play Hard series. It’s a story of scandal, secrets, lies and second chances at life and love.
Brexton and Drew were childhood friends who’s families were incredibly close until they were torn apart by a scandal.
Brexton Kincade is a sports agent and works with her father and sisters. She’s intelligent, feisty and confident, but also soft hearted. She’s the Kincade sister who loves love and isn’t jaded despite her ack of finding a happy ever after.
Drew is a second-string quarterback in the NFL. He’s kind, caring, compassionate and talented, yet honorable but lets his obligations and past hold him back from finding happiness and going after what he wants both professionally and personally.
The banter between this pair is fun and flirty and I enjoyed the interactions with the other members of the Kincade family.
This was my favorite title in the series and I highly recommend this title to anyone who enjoys a friends to lovers, enemies to lovers romance.
Wowza, I am so enjoying K. Bromberg’s fantastic Play Hard series! And, just when I thought I’d had my favorite one, here comes Hard to Score! I don’t know who I loved more—Brexton or Drew, and I truly adored their friends-to-enemies-to-second-chance romance. Yes, that’s a trope. Well, in this case it is!
On the one hand, there’s Brexton. Hard-hitting, smart, sexy, compassionate and devoted to her job, her players and her family. She’s driven to succeed, but she’s also wanting to find her own happily ever after, like two of her sisters. Brexton is amazing and the perfect woman for Drew. A man she’s had a crush on since she was a teenager when their fathers were the best of friends, until they weren’t.
But Drew needs to get out of his own way and out of his own head. He’s been harboring some serious resentment toward Brexton’s father for years—since the demise of his own father’s career. And he needs to get over the past so it doesn’t affect his future. One that he really wants to have with Brexton.
I loved every minute I spent with Drew and Brexton. They were amazing together—especially once they finally let go of what happened between their families so many years ago. I loved the family dynamics. Brexton and her sisters and their bond. And especially the relationship she had with her dad. And next up is Chase’s story. And I cannot wait to see how that unfolds!
