New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, is back with a new Kincade sister and a swoon-worthy football player in an all new standalone romance that will make you believe in first crushes and true love. I’ve signed numerous players to my family’s agency—I assumed winning over my next client would be just as easy. The last thing I expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and … expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and broke my heart: only now Drew Bowman is all grown up.
Sexy. Scandal-tainted. Second-string. The crush I never got over.
I tell myself work is the reason I can’t get him out of my head. I tell him his talent far outweighs his position, and I know I can help. I lie and lie, because admitting that I want a second chance at my first love is impossible.
Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago.

I’m supposed to hate her.
I’ve been told so time and again for ten years – her father ruined our family, smeared my name before my career even began.
But that’s not what I’m feeling now.
Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my field.
Driven. Determined. Grown up. The Capulet to my Montague.
Being with her would be an unforgivable sin against my father, but I can’t resist the pull between us. Even if it means hiding what we have. Even if it means confronting the secrets I’ve always feared were lies.
Are you ready to fall for the Kincade sisters and then men who love them in K. Bromberg’s sexy, contemporary, sports romance series? These books can all be read as standalones, but you’ll enjoy reading them as a series!

This book starts slow, but the build up is wonderful. This is probably one of the longest books I have read in a while, but so worth it. The push, the pull & the chemistry is woven so beautifully you fall in love with the story early on. The friendship to lovers romance is so much more touching. Their prior friendship & then their new friendship after so much pain adds so much more depth to their romance. The devastation is beyond anything I could believe, the world Drew grew up in & was broken in, made my heart break for him. The hurt, the love, the life he is living is hard, beautiful & everything!! This book was heartfelt in so many ways. In the end it was quick & over before I even realized it was the end. It was a lot to their romance, but almost too quick of an end to the story.
I highly recommend this book. Told in multiple POV.
Hard to Score was my favorite book in this series (honestly they all have been) but this one truly left me wanting more of Drew and Brex! Drew became my favorite leading man of this series and Brex is his perfect match! If you love Romance you need to read this book.
Hard to Score was everything I love in a book. Drew and Brexton were childhood friends, their families did everything together, until a secret tore their families apart. Years later, they meet again when Brexton goes to see a client she represent through her family’s company. There’s definitely a strong attraction between the two, and it’s hot and sweet. Hard to Score is emotional and swoonworthy. It’s a definite must read, and one of my favorites so far this year.
Oh my, this book! My heart is overflowing with emotions. It ticked all the boxes for me and then some. Second-chance romance, unrequited love, family drama, secrets, lies, sassy heroine, damaged hero with a golden heart, and steam level through the roof. Definitely a score for me.
I love stories in which the MCs have history together. It’s so intriguing to follow how they’ve changed through the years and what shaped them in the people they are today. This was a great one in that department. Revealing the past layer by layer, not giving away the big secret that led to the ultimate collapse of the relationship between both families and inevitably Drew and Brex’s friendship. It was all a tangled web of actions that changed their lives forever. But the moment their paths crossed everything kind of started to piece together and to make sense.
I loved Brex. She was a Kincade through and through. Tough, determined and no push-over, but at the same time a bit insecure and vulnerable at times. And Drew. Sigh. Another troubled man torn between family duty and responsibilities and the want to get from under the shadows of the past and out in the open.
Their attraction was instantaneous and the passion quicky followed. But there were constantly these unspoken secrets from their childhood that lingered over their heads and hindered their relationship. There were scenes that got me all teary-eyed and some that made my heart burst with warmth and love, there were some passionate scenes that were so hot and some very romantic ones. The cherry on the cake for me was the relationship within the Kincade family. I’m starting to love their dynamics so much. The open, heartfelt conversations between Brex and her dad were truly emotional and so was the ending part with the Bowman truth getting unraveled.
As I said the full package of emotions as is always the case with K.Bromberg’s books. This is turning into one of my fav series by her and I can’t wait to see the final sister in this family getting her HEA
OH MY HEAVENS… as most of the review are saying… TOUCHDOWN! I fell in love with Dreadful Drew IMMEDIATELY! BUT as the book progressed… I fell hard for Drew… does that even surprise you with a K Bromberg story! LOVED these two characters and I have loved every sister! We are going to need more sisters because I don’t want this series to end!
K. Bromberg at her best! If you love sports romance, you will love Hard to Score!
***5 “ILYBK” stars***
“How can I look at her and want her, knowing part of my fate is because of that last name she has?”
I love K. Bromberg’s stories very much and this series is sooo beautiful…
I love the Kincade girls and their father so much and every time, I’m falling for each girl’s man!!!
And in here was Brexton’s turn to fell in love with a man that I just wanted to hug him so tight for everything that he had to endure in his life…
I loved this story and I can not wait for Chase’s turn!!! Is it a possibility her man to be that jerk Finn??? Hmmm…
But let me focus on Brex and Drew…
“When it comes to athletes, fans and history remember two types: the undeniable stars and the ones who caused scandals. I could be the first one. But my fear is that the second one will rob me of that posibility.”
Brexton, as the rest of her sisters, is a sports manager and she is very good at her job, even though sports field is a man’s world and she has to fight very hard for her place among them…
This time, she has to land a big name from the football field, but he is a jerk and a tough nut to crack…
What she is not expecting is to see again after so many years her first love, Drew on the same field and as a second sting player when his talent is outstanding…
From that moment, Brex can not stop thinking about Drew and she just wants to get close to him and to understand him better…
“One thing is for sure… the teenage boy I used to have a massive crush on ended up growing into an incredibly handsome man.”
Drew is an amazing quarterback, but a scandal of the past is following him the last ten years and he can not escape it, even thought he wasn’t the one in fault… And because of that, he is always the second string in the team and even though it pains him, he had just accepted his faith.
What he wasn’t expecting was Brexton Kincade to tumble into his life for once again to make him question everything that he believes…
He is the daughter of the enemy and while he is drown to her, it feels like a big betrayal toward his family…
“She’s like a Juliet whose family lead to the demise of mine. Yet, I’m still looking, still watching… still trying to rationalize how I could be with a woman like her.”
Well, these two were amazing together, even when they weren’t anything more that two people that they used to know each other…
There was a big chemistry in here and a big background story that was keeping them apart…
Brexton needed a second chance with him and she was determined to make him realize that he don’t have to settle for anything in his life…
Drew felt guilty to be with Brex, but still… his heart was pushing him in the opposite direction than his mind was trying to lead him… Brex was giving him hope and strength to fight for what he really wanted…
So, what will happen after all, when they had stuck in the middle of a war that they had no part of???
“You’re my chance, Brex. Taking the goddamn field in a game is my chance. And I’m fucking terrified that if I get an opportunity at either, that I’ll screw them both up royally and never get a shot again.”
I love this series so much… I love how the author is showing us the sports world and I like that we are seeing it through a woman’s eyes.
The love story was amazing and it really touched my soul…
I loved Drew and Brexton. And I love her family so much.
Especially her father. I just want to hug this guy who is so supportive of his daughters!!
I might need a fifth and final book about him finding the love again??? LOL!!! I’m just saying!!!
“She deserves the white knight when I’m nothing but a Montugue destined to be at odds with her and her family forever.”
**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review
I’m here for this second chance romance. Big-time chemistry in this one. Must read.
Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my football field. Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago. Kristy has scored big with this book! Loved it so much.
I was so much happier with this book than book 2 in the series. I simply adore Brexton and Drew and was cheering their romance on the entire time I read. Their banter, chemistry, and romance was sweet and cute. Yes, the story was consistent (nothing too dramatic happened) and there’s nothing wrong with that. I just wished it had a bit more, ya know? Either way, this was an enjoyable read.
Kristy did an amazing passionate, heartbreaking and course steamy. With Brexton and Drew being childhood that became a great couple that got a second chance. This series just keep getting better and better from the beginning to the end.
Okay I must admit if theirs one thing this author just nails writing it seems to be sports romances! I have seriously loved every one this author has ever written but three books into the Play Hard series and she’s absolutely nailing it! Each installment only gets that much better than the last one! Hard To Score had me completely obsessed from the very first page. Once I started this book I found it hard to put down and or stop when life called. I just loved it so much. It quickly and easily become my favorite book yet in this series. I have always had a weakness for football romances out of all the different sport options. I loved the unique twist and touches this book had to offer that left it standing out from the rest. I’m also a huge sucker for second chance and childhood friends turned lovers so honestly this book just ticked all my must have boxes. I have become so invested with these all these Kincade women and their family dynamic that I find myself so sad when another of their stories come to a end.
Brexton is my favorite Kincade sister yet! I just found myself able to relate to her better than any other sister so far. I honestly just loved everything about her from her hopeless romantic heart to her fiesty attitude. She’s not against love or affraid to dive into things without allowing life to made her feelings. Its a nice change from what your used to with most heroines. I just could not have pictured a more better female lead for this story then her she was perfect!
Drew is mine! I just want to go ahead and call dibs now ladies because boy did he land one more touch down on my heart. I knew from the first page something about him was going to own me. *SWOONS* He’s not your usual hero minus the broken damaged side steaming from childhood issues which absolutely pulled at my heart strings so many times. So many times I just wanted reach through the pages and hug him.
*5 STARS*
Well earned for another fantastic installment to this series! Sports romance lovers I’m calling out to you to one click this book or entire series really because I’m telling you now you won’t be disappointed! I am on pins and needles and honestly can’t wait for the final book!
I LOOOOOOOOOVED this book! I adored Braxton and Drew. These two hadn’t seen each other in years but eventually their jobs put each of them in the same place. They knew each other as kids and I LOVED seeing them reconnect and get to know one another as adults. It was completely unexpected and in Drew’s case, a conflict of interest. I was very quickly sucked into this book and I had ALL. THE. FEELS. I was cheering them on and I wanted things to work out for them. Drew had been given a bad hand in life and felt Braxton support of him. At times, my heart hurt for him. I couldn’t read this book fast enough while I also didn’t want it to end!
I really enjoyed this novel. Brexton and Drew have such sizzling hot chemistry together, and they can be quite sweet. I love how the story gives glimpse of their younger years to show how they interacted then, and how some of those created bonds and moments for the present. There was so much angst and sadness surrounding the rift between the families and kept us guessing until almost the end as to the truth and lies. This was a riveting novel that kept me reading from cover to cover.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
I love second chance romances and sports romances so I was very excited to get my hands on this book! This is the third book in the Play Hard series but it can be enjoyed as a standalone. Brexton and Drew’s story pulled me in from the beginning and kept me engaged throughout. I enjoyed this book overall.
In order for a second chance romance to work for me I have to believe the reason the couple was separated in the first place. That element definitely was fulfilled here for me. I understood why Brexton and Drew couldn’t be together initially-even if I didn’t like it. I really *liked* both of these characters as well and it was incredibly gratifying to watch these two come back together. I believed in their chemistry right away and appreciated the journey they took to back to each other.
I’m a fan of this author’s writing in general. I can see the characters in her stories so clearly and perfectly in my mind. I really enjoy this world she has created. Again, this is a standalone, but there are mentions of other characters that we have previously met from this author. It was nice to revisit some old friends!
I enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to the next one in this series.
“Because the sky and its stars remind you that your one problem is so very little in this great big world. It makes you feel like you’re not all alone.”

Drew and Brexton were childhood friends who did everything together until a scandal tore their families apart. Ten years later when they come face to face, they remember the past and old feelings resurface. The only issue is the past is still very present between the families.

WOW! Drew and Brexton’s story is fun and emotional. It will put a smile on your face and tears in your eyes. There is the perfect amount of intrigue to keep you flipping the pages to find out what happened in the scandal to pull the families apart. The chemistry between Drew and Brex is off the charts. I totally fell in love with Drew and his romantic gestures. This is a great series and I am looking forward to Hard to Lose.

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be. There’s no one else’s initials I’d wear on my helmet.”
Holy hotness! Whew…you’ll want a ice filled glass of water and a fan to cool off after reading this book. This is the third book in the Play Hard series. It can be read as a stand alone. But you’ll have a better idea about the Kincaide’s if you read them in order. Brexton is our romantic out of the four sisters. She tends to fall fast and gets her heart broken a lot in the process. So when she runs into Drew, her feelings come out in a sprint. They were childhood friends and then all of sudden they were not. So does she really want to gamble with her feelings again on her past crush? Then there’s Drew. Always looking for something but wasn’t quite finding it in any woman he dated. Until Brex enters his life again. She’s what he’s been missing. But there is an ugly past. He is trying to work through it and how it can work with Brexton. She’s part of the past, but is she the real reason it won’t work? There’s so much emotion in this book. I was caught from the very beginning all the way to the end. I really loved these two. They have dynamic chemistry with one another and they just click. I love reading about the four Kincaide sisters, who work so hard at what they do. How they try to fit in to a sports industry that’s mostly men. They are strong, beautiful and confident. And reading about each one is just so much fun. Brexton will not disappoint. Drew and her are amazing. A definite must read!
NO SPOILERS!
Hard to Score was SO GOOD and K. Bromberg absolutely slayed me with Drew and Brexton’s sweet, sexy, emotional, and swoon-worthy love story! I’ve loved all of the romances I’ve read from K. Bromberg thus far, but Hard to Score is definitely my new FAVORITE and one of the BEST she’s ever written!
The storyline was fantastic and the author’s prose was perfection. I smiled, I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and honestly loved every moment of Drew and Brexton’s story. It was so much more than I could’ve hoped for and definitely exceeded all of my expectations. It hit me right in the feels and made me so happy that I could’ve burst with joy upon finishing.
The characters were phenomenal. Drew and Brexton were truly special, and I loved them with all my heart. They were perfect for each other, and though there were certainly bumps along the way, I absolutely loved their journey to happily ever after.
Hard to Score was sports romance PERFECTION and by far my new FAVORITE novel from K. Bromberg! Drew and Brexton’s story was an unforgettable adventure full of love, laughter, heartbreak, and emotions that made me smile and swoon like crazy while shedding a few tears along the way. K. Bromberg did an outstanding job with this standalone in the Play Hard series, and I’m so excited to see what she has in store for the last Kincade sister in Hard to Lose!
Drew and Braxtons story is oh so beautiful I could NOT put it down!! These two childhood best friends are split apart. Years later they come face to face and the chemistry that they once felt as teenagers is still there. The relationship they build is beautiful. The trust they find in one another is exactly what each one needs. What happens when the accusations and lies from their past need to be addressed? Be prepared to be swoon!!!
This one is a childhood friends/second chance/sport management agent and quarterback star. Brexton and Drew had known each other since childhood. The two families were close, even spending vacations together for years. An unfortunate event happened with Drew’s father and there were a lot of secrets and blame to go around. The two families never spoke after that. Drew moved on to play professional football. He is a back-up quarterback but his skills are more superior. Why would he not find a team that he can shine and showcase his talents? Brexton is a sport agent. She has been able to avoid Drew thus far until her father gave her an assignment of recruiting a new player who turns out to be playing for the same team as Drew. When Brexton and Drew saw each other again, all the past feelings came rushing back. Brexton is all grown up and Drew is more gorgeous than ever. The attraction is off the chart but there is a line Brexton and Drew do not want to cross. It’s supposed to be all business and no fun but how long can they keep the distant? This one was surprisingly an emotional story. Brexton and Drew road to happily-ever-after was plagued with angsts, push and pull, family obstacles and trouble past. They want explore the attractions they have for each other but torn between love and possibly hurting their respective families. Don’t get me wrong though there are a lot of steam to go around – K Bromberg is known for burning up the kindle. The hero is super swoony, stubborn and a good guy. Adore the heroine as well – she is sweet, honest, and super cute with her teenage crush . Overall, this was a heartfelt, fun, sweet second chance love story. Awesome addition to the Play Hard series.
