New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, brings you a romance about love, forgiveness, and living every day to the fullest. I know finding and signing a military vet to the agency is a long shot–but it’ll be good press just letting him try out. That’s what I tell my family, rather than admit I can’t get the letter he wrote us five years ago out of my head. But what I tell the bartender … of my head.
But what I tell the bartender in his hometown is a lie. I know veterans protect each other. So I pretend to be a graduate student.
Sparks. Flame. Fire. I accidentally got in too deep.
I didn’t expect to develop feelings for Gunner Camden.
And there’s no way I can admit to my lies now, not without destroying what we share. So I’ll keep faking it.
***
There are two versions of me: before, and after deployment.
Back then I was a screwup kid. I’d lie, cheat, and steal my way out of everything. My only love was baseball.
After I started fighting, I found out there had been another path for me. One that involved my dream. But by then I had seen too much.
The old me was dead, so I put my dreams to rest, too.
Then Chase Kinkade walks into my bar and reminds me that life is meant to live. No regrets.
Fresh. Happy. Hopeful. I can start to see a new dream, with her.
But sometimes things are too good to be true… and dishonesty is the one thing I can’t forgive.
Are you ready to fall for the Kincade sisters and then men who love them in K. Bromberg’s sexy, contemporary, sports romance series? These books can all be read as standalones, but you’ll enjoy reading them as a series!

Hard to Lose just may be my favorite book in K. Bromberg’s Play Hard series, and it is in large part due to the male lead who is guaranteed to win your heart.
What starts out as Chase determined to find ways to promote her family’s fledgling sports management firm, quickly evolves into a very emotional and engaging story involving a military veteran.
Gunner is a war hero and former pro-baseball hopeful who now devotes his life to serving military families affected by loss. Could the man be more selfless, supportive, and all-around perfect? Apparently, the answer is no. No, he could not.
I absolutely loved Chase and Gunner as a couple. The unique dates, passionate kisses, frank talks, and funny exchanges they share warmed my heart. Gunner’s life story has all the feels. As he lowers his guard more and more to let Chase in, my anxiety regarding her deception increased.
Short chapters make Hard to Lose a quick read yet still a very satisfying love story. I received an early copy to voluntarily read.
K. Bromberg always make me feel every single emotion so deep in my heart. Hard To Lose was no exception. This poignant and alluring sports romance has burrowed into my soul and I am emotionally wrecked. My heart is overflowing. My soul in romance heaven. Pure perfection and brilliance from K. Bromberg.
This story is a mix of sports romance, military romance and small town romance. Sounds fascinating, right? Chase Kincade is fully immersed in work for her father’s sports management agency. She doesn’t have time for relationships. Then a long lost later from Afghanistan, written by an army man reaches her table. Ryan Camden was a rising baseball star and Chase doesn’t understand why he didn’t chase his dreams. But she thinks this is a chance for their agency to do something special for attention and she is determined to find Ryan. The pursuit takes her to a quaint military town, Destiny Falls. And there she meets charming, gorgeous, kind and genuine Gunner. Owner of local bar and ex-military. They feel an immediate attraction and they have this undeniable connection. But what will happen when Chase’s secret comes out and she faces a big truth?
So Gunner is the kind of man who will charm you at first look. He is insanely sexy and pantymelting hot. But his biggest sex appeal is his ocean like heart. Military life has left deep scars not only on his body, but in his mind too. He fights survivor’s guilt every day and tries his best to give back to his brothers and their families. He pushes himself hard to forget the dark past, the injustice he faced in early life, his broken dreams and all the demons. But he is still the most kind hearted and loyal and absolutely swoonworthy man ever. Chase has built this barrier around her heart. She never let anyone in. But in this beautiful small town and with this exceptional man, her defenses are down and she realises there is so much more in life than running away from her issues by drowning herself in work. She is such a smart, fierce and independent woman. Total boss lady. But she has a vulnerable side that makes her relatable. They have an insane chemistry. Inflammable and sparks flew just after few looks and touch. But the real beauty was in their heartfelt emotions. They made each other better in every way. The emotions were killing me slowly and the hard earned happily ever after was the sweetest.
K. Bromberg delivers a swoony and heartaching romance in Hard To Lose. I am absolutely in love and lust with this story. So much awesomeness wrapped in spectacular writing of K. Bromberg.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
This has been a really interesting series. I am a recent reader for this author so reading this series has been fascinating and I have highly enjoyed it. This book easily stands alone, prob more than the rest of the books as Chase is very much on vacation or out of the office during most of this story and is not really involved with the agency or the siblings thru most of the book.
The premise of the series is built around Chases’ ex Finn and how he is stealing clients from the sisters and their fathers sports agency and they decide to go after his clients. In previous books in the series all Chases older sisters have found love, marriage and even pregnancy. But she is feeling very much alone now that their lives have changed so much. Even her ex, Finn is all over the news for doing a Make a Wish grant for a sick kid. So she decides her sports agency needs to one up him and she decides to help a military man, Ryan who once dreamed of a baseball career. But first she has to find him, but all she has is a letter he wrote to her father many years before that just got delivered.
She tracks him to his old high school and gets a clue to a city he might be in but then she has to find him. On her first night in town she hits a bar and meets an amazing man and well things get interesting from there. Yep no spoilers here!
This was a really fun story and I really loved meeting the gang from the bar that Chase ends up landing in. I loved that in this story the emphasis is on the US Military rather than sports and what they face out there protecting us American’s. Its a really different story than any of the others in this series and I really enjoyed the direction it went in.
This story had love, laughter, friendship and I even cried a few sad and happy tears as Chase and her fellow figured out how to make things work. This was an awesome book in the series and a really great military romance.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Chase Kincade is the youngest daughter in the Kincaid sports agency dynasty, always driven to prove that she can be the best when competing with her sisters.
Her father has been interested in signing an extremely talented young baseball player five years ago, but the player vanished sending just a thank you letter to the agency. When Chase comes across the letter she has to find Ryan Camden even if only for the great publicity her agency will get. Ryan Camden returned to the military town of Destiny Falls after his tour of duty. Only he is no longer Ryan he is now known as Gunner, bartender of the bar that was the dream of his comrades in arms.
When Chase tracks Ryan to Destiny Falls she comes across the sexy Gunner in the bar and there is instant off the charts chemistry between them. What starts off as a one-nighter quickly develops into more as they are unable to resist each other. But both of them are hiding secrets. Gunner takes his to bed every night and unable to sleep he spends time pitching balls at a nearby sports field. Chase is hiding her identity and the real reason she is in town to avoid any bad feeling towards her.
Once started this story was impossible to put down as I was drawn into the lives of these two characters. My heart broke for Gunner dealing with all his guilt and pain but I was so full of admiration for this guy who wanted to try and right the wrongs he believed he was responsible for. Even though his dreams of having a successful career in baseball had been shattered he still returned to his first love for comfort.
As far as Chase was concerned I didn’t like her at first. I felt that she was just out to make money for her agency without considering why Ryan Camden gave up his career or how he might be affected by being in the spotlight again and she was stringing an amazing guy along for her own selfish ends. She manages to redeem herself by calling in favours to get him new sports equipment for his work with the kids, and also for falling in love with this amazing man.
This book is a very emotional read, heartbreaking in parts, uplifting in others as Gunner and Chase work together to make things better, learning and growing together and falling deeply in love. But the big question was if and how they could blend their lives and be together. As usual Ms. Bromberg ties everything into a neat bow giving us a wonderfully romantic happy ending.
I’ve finally read my first K. Bromberg! I know, what was I doing with my life? To be clear, it’s not the first one I’ve owned, it’s just the first one I’ve gotten to actually read. And OMG, I feel as if I have been missing out! First, I know I pretty much read a book at the end of a series instead of starting from the beginning. I never do that, but this was given to me and I jumped all over it. And I LOVED it!!! Chase is such a strong, independent woman, career driven and not interested in finding the happily ever after like her sisters. What she is interested in finding is a veteran that sent a letter 5 years ago that just showed up. She feels a connection, and a professional drive, to find this man. She goes to a little town named Destiny Falls to try to quietly find him. What she finds is a hot, charming, fun, amazing bartender, Gunner, that she can’t resist. They end up spending lots of time together, sharing their innermost thoughts and demons, and some definitely sizzling chemistry . Both have feelings they didn’t really think they would, and just when they think they found their happiness, secrets come out and could ruin it all. First, I loved them! Gunner had my heart from the get go Chase, I’m not gonna lie, I wanted to shake her a few times lol. But I completely loved them together. They were fun, and loving and caring and sexy. And I love Gunner, did I mention that? Also, the emotions in this book were so consuming, my eyes leaked on many occasions. Is that a usual thing with her books? Better stock up on tissues just in case lol. Anyway, now I must read the rest of the series. And you must read this!!
I can’t get this book out of my head! Chase and Gunner are the new couple that I adore and just wanted to gobble up lol. They made my heart soar and the “secret” kept me a bit on edge. I love all of the sisters, but Chase was the one I was anticipating!
Hard to Lose is redemption at its best. You will understand what I mean when you read this story. The high and lows will get your heart beating. You will cheer and fall for these characters. I loved this series and the story even more. This page turner is what you need for your next read!
4.5 It’s Always Been You stars!

Hard To Lose (The Play Hard Series, book 4) by K. Bromberg is a heartwarming, emotional story about family, forgiveness, fate and beautiful love. I really loved this book! This man is such an incredible human being and swoony to the extreme. This is one of my top favorites of the series! Gunner is pure book boyfriend gold! <333
I have to make a confession. This is the first K Bromberg book I have read in a while. I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this book and I am so glad I did! It quickly reminded (I’m talking within the first 5% of the book) how excellent a writer K Bromberg is and that I’m definitely going to have to read more of her books again. One of my top favorites is from her, the Driven series. Do your self a favor and check it out if you haven’t!
Enough about that though, let’s talk about Hard to Lose. This story follows Chase, the youngest sister of 3 girls, and Gunner Camden, a war hero who has a lot of trauma in his past. This book is part of a series, but is a complete standalone. So much so that I didn’t even read or feel like I had to read the first book in the series to comfortably jump in to this one. That says a lot, because I don’t think I’ve ever done that before! Naturally though, because of how good this book was, the others in the series immediately went into my TBR piles!
Chase is a sports agent in her family business and is constantly trying to outperform and show her family how efficient and talented she is. This isn’t done in a snobby way at all, more of a younger sibling just trying to prove themself to the older ones. She is highly motivated and attacks the day and her goals with a fire that is beyond impressive. Her go get ‘em attitude I think is one of the things Gunner falls in love with first! That and her overall confidence. Chase is the type of girl that everyone wants to be!
Gunner has created an incredible life for himself after a lifetime of trouble, people who were supposed to love him letting him down, and multiple traumas from his childhood and his time serving overseas. The thing I love most about Gunner’s character is his passion for helping other kids who’ve gone through similar situations as him. He shares his love, his passion, his compassion, to those who need it and deserve it more than anyone but often get overlooked. If a girl doesn’t fall in love with a man like Gunner, I’d have to wonder what’s missing with her!
While I’ve painted the dreamboat picture of Gunner and a fierce picture of Chase, they both have their downfalls. Their chemistry is on fire and you can tell that just through reading their story which is pretty incredible. The fire can burn, though, and sometimes when two people who are both a little guarded with their feelings and not comfortable with being vulnerable get together, they can end up hurting each other. Deceit is something Gunner has said he can’t come back from. Chase didn’t know it at the start, but is now struggling with a major decision on what to do.
The end of this story is angsty and heartbreaking and leaves you wondering how it’s all going to play out. I’ll be honest, it didn’t end the way I thought it would. It ended similarly, but let’s just say I expected the roles to be reversed at the end, but I think it worked out well in the end!
I really enjoyed this story and hope you’ll take a chance on it too!
Hard to Lose by K. Bromberg is the fourth book in the Play Hard Series. It can be read as a stand-alone and this is Chase and Gunner‘s story.
.
Chase is the youngest of the Kincade sisters and very ambitious in her job, yet doesn’t have many connections in her private life. Her sisters have recently found their HEA and Chase needs some distance to them and when a letter lands on her desk, it is her calling to investigate it. It was truly incredible how a few words in the letter could spark such a fantastic story.
.
Gunner is the one who wrote the letter as a closure to his dream of playing baseball when he enlisted in the military. His time there really shaped him and after he came back he now helps fellow veterans and their families. In addition, he had a tough childhood himself, but nevertheless Gunner is such a kindhearted and truly good person and that was so inspiring.
.
Their paths cross when Chase enters Gunner‘s bar one day and they immediately have a connection. The two explore this while living in the moment and finding new joy in their lives and in each other. At the same time Chase and Gunner find love when they least expect it and this book is just amazing and gave me all the feels.
.
Overall, Hard to Lose is my new favorite in this series and beyond fantastic and a book where you feel the connection between the characters on every page. 5 stars.
(ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.)
“You loved me, you let me love you, knowing you were going to hurt me…”
Loved it!! My heart exploded with happiness with this book, and for sure my favorite one in this series, I loved how it stands completely independent from the other ones, this book kind of gives you the small-town romance vibe, and I adored everything about it.
Gunner is trapped in his own nightmare; he can’t shake the guilt he feels simple for being alive. After deployment, he carries some visible scars and not so visible, those not visible are the hardest one to overcome, but somehow, Chase managed her way into his heart from the moment he saw her and now she is everything that gives him peace, that is until he finds the true reasons why Chase suddenly appears in his live. Second chances are for the brave ones and Gunner and Chase are one of them.
I loved everything in this book, the secrets, the drama, the hotness, the beautiful characters K. Bromberg created in this story are one of my favorites; he is sweet, he is romantic, he is thoughtful, gahh just the perfect specimen, and she is strong, independent, full of life and thriven; they make the perfect couple in my eyes. So, if you’re looking for a true romance with a sweet hero and a strong-willed heroine with lots of steamy moments, this is completely for you.
4.5 “living in the moment” stars!
Hard to Lose is wonderful addition to the Play Hard series by K. Bromberg. I love the Kincade family and was so excited to get my hands on Chase’s story and it did not disappoint. It’s a sweet, heartbreaking military romance that really pulls on your heartstrings.
Chase is the youngest Kincade sister working for the family company, Kincade Sports Management. She puts her all into her job and isn’t looking for love despite the fact that all of her sisters have found it and are happy. When a letter is delivered to her desk that was lost in the mail for 5 years from a pitcher they had their eye on, she feels a connection to it. She wants to know what happened to Ryan Camden to make him reject their offer and she is determined to find out.
Chase arrives at Destiny Falls to find Ryan but she finds Gunner instead. A bartender at the FU-Bar, he is just want she needs to let loose while on a mission to find the missing pitcher. She’ll enjoy his company while she looks for Ryan; however, she never could have guessed that the guy she starts to fall for is actually the guy she has been looking for all along.
Ryan Camden, aka Gunner, has seen so much overseas in the military and he is just trying to heal from the nightmares he had to experience. He is such a great guy and a total sweetheart. He had dreams of his own but he let them go and now is putting everything into the bar he built for his fallen comrades and the center he created for kids who have lost a parent in combat. He has scars on the inside and scars on the outside but they make him who he is.
She is confident and sassy and has a great sense of humor. She holds her own and knows what she wants. She has her own scares and was changed when her mother passed away and I loved her strength. She wasn’t expecting to fall for Gunner but sometimes ”the best relationships are the ones you never saw coming.”
I loved watching Gunner and Chase’s relationship grow. They are all flirty and try to be casual but the more time they spend together, the more the walls they’ve built up around their hearts start tumbling down. I loved that they were able to get under each other’s skin and into their hearts and really change each other. They realize what real love is and what they have been missing all along. The feels are real and I loved how they brought the best out of each other.
“Love isn’t something you set out to achieve. It’s something that happens unexpectedly.”
It is all sunshine and rainbows when they are together but there is a big secret that builds the more time goes on. It’s one that can ruin everything they have built. As they fall harder, I found myself dreading the inevitable blow up. I knew it was coming and when it does, it’s gut wrenching. My heart broke because I understood both sides as well as how it got to be as big as it did.
Thankfully the drama isn’t drawn out and I loved when they finally see a future together. We get two epilogues and I loved how everything wraps up so well.
When a letter arrives at Kincaid Sports Management, five years after it was supposed to be received, it’s Chase Kincaid who takes a deep interest in it. The man who sent it could have had a stellar career in the MLB, but he chose to serve his country over following his baseball playing dream… and Chase wants to know what made him change his mind. So she sets out on a journey to find the man behind the letter, and winds up finding far more than she ever bargained for!
Between the pages of Hard to Lose readers will meet a determined and feisty heroine that is on a mission to meet a mysterious man behind a letter sent to her office. Ryan Camden could have been a household name in the MLB now, but he chose a different path, one that stirs up Chase’s curiosity and pushes her to find answers. When she arrives in Destiny Falls she figures she shouldn’t have any problems finding her guy in the small town, but it proves to be a little trickier that originally anticipated. While there she meets a handsome bartender that sparks something in her that she hasn’t felt in a long time. But with both of them giving each other half truths and keeping their true identities and intentions from one another it’s bound to get messy!
I loved this final addition to the Play Hard series, as with all the other books in the series it came brimming with all the feels and steam you could handle… and then some! These two may have fell the instant they met, but their road to finding their happily ever after took quite a little patience and work. I loved watching them wander into uncharted territory and surrender their hearts to one another. It was a journey with many ups and downs, but romantic nonetheless. Hard to Lose was captivating and romantic read that left my heart feeling a nice little squeeze! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
This is the 4th book in this phenomenal series and is Gunner / Ryan and Chase’s journey. Gunner had a dream to become a professional baseball player, but with life changing he signed up for the military instead. Now a veteran who is suffering from survivors’ guilt, he just wants to lead a peaceful life running his bar and helping kids who are disadvantaged. Chase is strong and independent, and she is the youngest sister on the Kincade girls, who all work for their dad’s sports agency. When a letter arrives at the agency 5-years after it was written, Chase is determined to track down Ryan. When these two meets at his bar, the chemistry between them is intense and undeniable. This is a beautifully written flawless story which is filled with angst, secrets, lies, twists, endearing characters, and love. I was intrigued throughout this riveting tale, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Wow! I am not even sure how to process my thoughts or words to write this review after such a flawlessly written book. So I’m just going to start here. I believe, no scratch that I know I just finished my best read of 2021 hands down. Each book in The Play Hard series only continued to get better than the last. However the author most definitely saved the best story for last with Hard To Lose. I don’t quite know what I was expecting with this book but it most definitely was NOT that. If there’s one genre this author can write better than most its sports romance. I simply could not get enough of this book. The characters. The story. The feels. I just absolutely LOVED IT ALL! I have never swooned so hard reading a book in my life. I can’t even put into words how many emotions and feelings this book evoked in me while devouring the pages. Once I started reading Hard To Lose I simply could not put it down. I had never read such a original and unique book. I LOVED how this book combined two polar opposite troupes seamlessly. While offering up some of the most admirable and loveable characters I’ve read to date.
Chase is one of those heroines you just know your going to love and can’t help but like. She was so sassy and had the most straight forward attitude. I love when the heroines know what they want and don’t settle for less than they deserve. From the start of this series I knew Chase was going to be the sister that I could relate to the most. After going through being cheated on myself recently I found Chases character so inspiring and helpful.
Ryan “Gunner” Camden is ALL MINE LADIES I’m calling dibs now. Because he is now hands down in my top 5 best book boyfriends EVERRRRR. He’s not your usual male lead character and I think that’s part of what made him so unique. I have never read a more strong, vulnerable, and admirable character than Gunner. His every word, action and thought had me melting in a puddle of swoons I swear. Mark my words now when I say he’s going to own your heart.
*5 STARS*
Well earned for this sports meets military romance. Honestly I would rate this story infinite stars if I could. 5 will never feel like enough to me. I truly can not stress enough how much you should one click this book! I would scream my recommendation from the rooftops if could.
K. Bromberg continues her “Play Hard” series with Hard To Lose, the story of sports agent Chase Kinkade and veteran Ryan Camden who had once aspired to play in the MLB.
Even though baseball had been his sanctuary, Gunner Camden the soldier had to give up on it. And after surviving his deployment he settled into his life as a bar owner and volunteer until the most confident woman he’s ever seen walks into his bar like a breath of fresh air and sunlight, tilting his world on its axis.
After receiving a five-year-old thank you letter addressed to her father, Chase can’t stop thinking about the man who wrote it. Under the pretense of finding the vet for publicity purposes she goes to the small military town telling folks she a graduate student.
She never imagined the sexy bartender she caught feelings for would turn out to be the very man she was looking for. And after getting to know him and the fact that lies are a deal breaker for him, how can she possible admit the truth? But without revealing it, how can they possibly have a future?
I had never read a book by K. Bromberg and I hope I never skip one from here on out. I loved this story. Both Chase and Gunner are charming. Chase is smart, confident and sassy and I loved her forwardness. Gunner is not just HOT, he’s also incredibly caring, nice, giving, a true hero and possible too good to be true.
I ached for Gunner and I loved how Chase helped him start living his life without regrets. I cheered for them from the very beginning. I smiled, blushed, swooned and fanned myself. They were perfect together and the only reason their story doesn’t get a perfect 5 stars is because I felt the resolution to their conflict was a bit too easy.
Hard to Lose is book #4 of the Play Hard series by K. Bromberg. Told from several both POV with TWO deliciously swoon epilogues. Genre: Contemporary Romance Military romance | Sports Romance
Each book in this series is more incredible than the previous. Bromberg raises the bar with each story making them even more refreshing, captivating and beautiful. She has a way of sweeping me up into her stories and making me care for her rich and complex characters that are so vivid and real. Hard to Lose is a fun, touching, and completely engrossing love story and Chase and Gunner are magical!
Chase suddenly receives a letter that was mailed to her family sports management company 5 years earlier. She is completely captivated by this ‘baseball player turned soldier’, who sent it. Since it is coming up on the anniversary of losing her mother, she needs to get away, and what better distraction than to find this mystery man.
Gunner used baseball to find peace and comfort after losing his father, and he was extremely talented. But his homelife was heartbreaking, so he joined the armed services instead of playing professional ball. When he is sent over seas, he realizes he will never be the same and lets go of his baseball dreams. He is a civilian now and found a new calling and passion. He never thought he could open himself up to love until a beautiful city girl walks into his bar and takes his breath away. Chase and Gunner have an instant attraction and without reason begin a passionate affair. They have fun together, and teach each other how to let go and really live again. The more time they spend together, the more their hearts open up to the possibility of more together. But neither really knew who the other was at first, and as secrets come to light, will their love be strong enough to forgive the other? Omg I absolutely loved Gunner and Chase together! They helped each other heal, grow stronger, find peace, and learn to give themselves fully to love. They are so perfect together, and have a soul deep passion and love. I also loved catching up with Chases family and meeting Gunner’s close friends who are all protective, loyal, and unconditionally supportive. I absolutely loved everything about this irresistibly fun, emotional, breathtaking and sizzling romance.
An amazing series! The final book for the Kincaid sisters ending with a big romance with huge tears rolling down my face. Chase and Gunner two loners finding that fate will always lead you to where. And who your are mean to be with. Reminiscent to letters in a bottle, two people connecting because of a letter from a young man that was saying goodbye to his dreams while serving for his country. I love how in this series it isn’t always the guy that has to show up and fight for what he wants, because in every relationship there are two people. To see how they both have to look inward and fight for their own hearts to win over the obstacles placed in their own way.
As always we get a heart wrenching love affair and an amazing HEA.
Another hit from author K. Bromberg!
It is time to wish the Kincade sisters goodbye but before that Chase gets her long awaited book. The premise of the story was good Chase finds an old letter from a recruit they wanted to sign and she sets out to find him.
The thing I have liked with all the books is that all the sisters are confident and succesful and that the family are so close. Chase goes on the hunt and meets Gunner and boy was their first meeting fun. I loved the flirty banter and especially the way Chase was so bold. Watching two commitment phobic people unwittingly fall in love was both sweet and terrifying because they are both keeping secrets. This was a sweet sometimes angsty read that I really enjoyed. I like that although each book can be read as a standalone we get a catch up with all the couples. I know there is one more book to come and I am so intrigued by this one.
I’ve taken a few days before I sat down to write down these words. This book started out so strong and I fell in love with both Ryan/Gunner and Chase.
But the more their relationship progressed the more it bugged me the secrets she kept. Don’t get me wrong the chemistry was there, banter was funny but as I finished this book all I could think about was he came back and forgave too soon. But that’s a me problem and if I look past the issue I can say this book was a nice read about two people finding their place of peace and love.

When a letter shows up five years after it was sent Chase Kincade is determined to find the man who had sent it and this leads her to a small town.
Ryan ‘Gunnar’ Camden had a promising baseball career, at least until he joined the military and what was left of his old life no longer existed. Baseball became a form of therapy for him, but that was it. He spent his time running a small town bar and helping children who have lost parents in combat. Chase is kind of lost when it comes to her life. She has walls to protect herself thanks to her cheating ex, Finn, but she is drawn to Ryan just based on single letter. When she meets Gunnar on her quest, there is a connection and the two are instantly drawn to each other. But when secrets come out is it something that they will be able to overcome?
I loved Chase and I am glad to finally know more about her, since there wasn’t a whole lot in any of the previous books of the series.
