New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, brings you a romance about love, forgiveness, and living every day to the fullest. I know finding and signing a military vet to the agency is a long shot–but it’ll be good press just letting him try out. That’s what I tell my family, rather than admit I can’t get the letter he wrote us five years ago out of my head. But what I tell the bartender … of my head.
But what I tell the bartender in his hometown is a lie. I know veterans protect each other. So I pretend to be a graduate student.
Sparks. Flame. Fire. I accidentally got in too deep.
I didn’t expect to develop feelings for Gunner Camden.
And there’s no way I can admit to my lies now, not without destroying what we share. So I’ll keep faking it.

There are two versions of me: before, and after deployment.
Back then I was a screwup kid. I’d lie, cheat, and steal my way out of everything. My only love was baseball.
After I started fighting, I found out there had been another path for me. One that involved my dream. But by then I had seen too much.
The old me was dead, so I put my dreams to rest, too.
Then Chase Kinkade walks into my bar and reminds me that life is meant to live. No regrets.
Fresh. Happy. Hopeful. I can start to see a new dream, with her.
But sometimes things are too good to be true… and dishonesty is the one thing I can’t forgive.

It was a simple letter. A plea for me to take on a new client who hasn’t touched a real baseball field in over three years.
Would it be good publicity to get the Army veteran signed by an MLB team? Or course.
Would it piss my rival and ex-boyfriend off? Definitely.
Would it be devastating to my heart? That was the one thing I never expected.
K Bromberg delivers another emotional, steamy romance that you don’t want to miss!

I Love, love, love Kristy’s writing. It doesn’t matter the trope, I’m here for it. But give me a sports romance with all the feels and I’m in heaven. A fabulous standalone addition to the Play Hard series. I can’t wait for the next one.
I love this series so far. I have read book 3 and 4 now and its amazing!! After just a couple of chapters I was wrapped up in the story between Chase and Gunner. What I loved so much was how lovable both Chase and Gunner are together and separate. I am a sucker for a deep down sweet Alpha and a driven, self-assured female, there is just something so addictive about character like this and that is exactly what I got with Hard to Lose.
While these two build a relationship on lies, by omission but still… they are able to build a relationship non the less that was just perfect! I loved reading their story unfold and loved the angst that ensured when everything came to light. Hard to Lose was just so much fun to read, enjoyed every minute of it!

A page-turning, small town romance with a favorite hero from K. Bromberg!
K. Bromberg mixes, military, small town and sports romance to great effect! You’ll love! <3
Kristy Bromberg has given her readers something truly special in the Play Hard series of sports romances. Centered on four sports agent sisters, she dove into the worlds of professional hockey, soccer, football and baseball. In the fourth standalone book of this incredible series, readers get the youngest sister, Chase Kincade, and Ryan ‘Gunner’ Camden’s story. Their story pulled me in from the prologue, and it was the kind of story I just didn’t want to stop reading—and I literally got frustrated when I had to put it down.
This story was emotional in every sense of the word, and Bromberg sets that stage from the start. Gunner, a talented baseball player, lets go of his dream of playing professional baseball in order to serve his country. His story is devastating, and my heart broke for this man and the guilt, grief and heart-ache he carries with him every day. Chase is professionally focused and extremely driven, and while she’s had much success in her career, her love life is another story. She’s been betrayed, both professionally and romantically, by the man she loved. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he’s in the same field and someone she has to contend with from time-to-time. Chase may not have gone into the situation with Gunner intending to deceive him, but she quickly found herself sliding down the slippery slope of her lie.
I loved every single word of Hard to Lose. The plot was unexpected, the premise was fresh and heartrending, and Gunner and Chase’s romance was heart-racing, steamy and romantic. Rich with powerful emotion, blazing with heat and passion, I simply did not want to put it down. I felt all the feels and sobbed so many tears as I devoured it. I loved these characters, I loved their story, and Kristy positively gutted me with the depth of emotion in Chase and Gunner’s love story. Five stars from me for Hard to Lose by K. Bromberg!

Lies have a way of catching up to you and the story between Chase and Ryan proves that. Their chemistry is explosive and the connection they shared was undeniable but once a lie takes root and keeps growing, how do you stop it? I loved seeing the conflict in Chase and wanting to do right but not knowing how. Ryan is complex and just swoony. I enjoyed their story so much.

Kincade Sports Managment.
That’s widowed dad-boss Kenyon Kincade and his four daughters.
The final daughter to go find her happily ever after is the youngest: Chase.
She wants to find a guy they wanted to recruit a few years ago. They recently received a letter from him, a letter that was lost for five years. And now Chase needs to know his story. Maybe she can get some good press for the company out of the whole thing.
Ryan, now known as Gunner, is running a bar in a small Virginia town and it’s super insta attraction between him and Chase. But both are not really honest about things…
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN…
I really enjoyed reading this.
But I also hated parts of it. I hated that they start out lying to each other – or omitting – whatever. I don’t want my hero and heroine to start out like that. Because it will always end up in fights and break-ups and unnecessary drama.
But the story was so cute. Gunner is such an amazing guy and they have such an amazing time together. Adorable.
We also get some very heartbreaking moments.
But there’s always the lie in the background – and it takes them forever to get to the truth. Ugh. I wish it would’ve come out way earlier. But it is what it is and the book wasn’t bad. I just didn’t like the lying part.
This was a really sweet and sexy and emotional sports/military/bar/sports agent romance!
Can’t wait to read Finn’s book next! Hard to Love I wanted him to get his HEA since book #1 – even though he was an a§§ most of the time!
And I also wouldn’t mind seeing a girl-power Jerry McGuire kind of sports-rom-com series on Netflix one day!

I enjoy this series a lot, each story for each sister is unique. Hard To Lose is fun, sexy and at times I sobbed at how these two different people fight to come together. Great series.
Book 4 in this Fantastic series about 4 sisters who are sports agents..this is Chase’s story and what a rollercoaster of emotions it was.
What begins with a lost letter that turns up on Chase’s desk, leads her to a small town and a chance meeting at a bar. She is looking for a Ryan Camden a military hero who was forced to let his Baseball dreams go long ago and wrote the letter that appeared on her desk.
Chase feels a connection to Ryan the letter writer ,but instead meets Gunner a sexy bartender and ex Military and this is were the story gets very interesting …..
I absolutely LOVED this story it was so emotional and beautiful and oh my heart Chase and Gunner together were so perfect. They changed one another ,made eachother believe in love, helped one another through grief and the pain of the past….until secrets that are revealed could destroy the love they found.
I really enjoyed reading Hard To Lose and I can’t believe it’s ended I have become so lost in this world of the Kincaid sisters I am not sure what to do with myself now.
Chase and Gunner’s story warmed my heart and its a journey of discovery for them both.
I adored it and Highly recommend it.
5 stars
I loved Chase and Gunner’s story. While I wouldn’t say that it’s a sports romance, per say, it has the underpinnings of this topic but the sport itself wasn’t more than a background point, in my opinion. However, to me, this is a story about healing, whether from a dark past or a loss of a parent. I adored Gunner- he’s one of my top favorite male characters in any book because he was written with so much heart- he was the epitome of a great man because of how he took his tragedy and made something so so good out of it. Chase was a good character although I do think that her secret dragged on way too long. This was a generally low angst beautifully written romance and I could not put it down because I really just wanted Gunner, and therefore, Chase, to get to their HEA. There’s one more book in this series and I can only say that I am going to miss these characters when that last story is told. I can’t wait to see how K. Bromberg redeems Finn. (oh and I loved the visit by Easton, the primary character in The Player/The Catch.
The Play Hard series by K. Bromberg is a great contemporary sports series with a twist. The series of interconnected standalones follows siblings sports agents, so we get a wide variety of athletes and sports in the male leads, and our female leads work in an overwhelmingly male-dominated industry.
Hard to Lose has a military vet getting a second chance at a sports career, but when Chase goes to recruit Camden, she tells a little white lie to get an intro, and then their attraction and chemistry takes over, and by the time Chase comes clean, she’s dug herself quite a hole!
Overall, this book is full of emotion, flirtation, humor, amazing dialogue and sparks. I’m looking forward to hearing this one in audio, too, since the rest of the series sounds amazing and has top-notch narrators.
I know finding and signing a military vet to the agency is a long shot–but it’ll be good press just letting him try out. That’s what I tell my family, rather than admit I can’t get the letter he wrote us five years ago out of my head. This was a lovely, sweet and emotionally deep romance, the characters were very lovable, Gunner was such a beautiful and broken soul and Chase is just what he needed and their chemistry was wonderful. I did wonder why she didn’t just tell him the truth earlier and explain the situation, but then there wouldn’t have been a story .The story line was interesting and yet simple and the sex was hot. All over this was a very enjoyable read.
