There’s a new Prince in town. And he thinks he’s my happily ever after. If only I believed in those. Lance Jacobs. Roseboro’s new Most Eligible Bachelor. He’s the stuff fairy tales are made of. Tall, handsome, strong. A dyed in the wool American hero . . .And if my scheming stepmother has anything to do with it, he’ll be married to my stepsister before he can tap out S-O-S.But he only has eyes for … he can tap out S-O-S.
But he only has eyes for me.
And though my attention is tied up in my new bakery, I know he wants me.
I’ll admit that he makes my heart race, my body pulse, and my mind think of things that are definitely not as sweet as my famous cupcakes.
I can’t help but think Lance would make a great Mr. Right . . . Now.
I don’t trust him to be more than that.
Don’t trust any man after having my heart broken one too many times.
Even if he does make me want to break all my rules.
Makes me want to take a chance.
To believe again.
Could he finally be my happily ever after?

Happily Never After: A Dark Fairy Tale
By Lauren Landish
Charlotte is fierce, feisty, driven independent woman who has only one thing on her mind her new bakery “Cake Culture”. She has worked long and hard to see her dream come to fruition.
Mia talking to Charlotte after the grand opening of her bakery.
“Today was great! How do you feel?” “I feel like I’m fizzy on the inside, like my skin is too small and I just need to jump out of it for a minute and shake off the energy like a dog.”
Lance Jacob is a Navy SEAL Officer who gave up his career in a moments notice when his dad called needing him back home. Only to be caught up in family drama and a meddling mother trying to set him up and plan his future.
Lance Jacob’s after meeting Charlotte for the first time at the fundraiser his family was attending that Thomas Goldstone was throwing. His thoughts and first impression of her.
She’s . . . what the world is meant for. She’s what I spent all those years fighting to protect—the few, the good, the innocent and beautiful.
She wasn’t there as a guest but there as a vendor representing her bakery. There was definitely electricity between them pulling them together but unfortunately not everyone wants them together.
She fights her feelings for him because she’s been hurt time and time again and always expects the other shoe to fall and the fairy tale to be shattered. Lance isn’t one to walk away and will work to prove he is there for her and isn’t going anywhere.
Their journey isn’t easy but so worth it, it proves that family isn’t necessarily blood but who you choose to be your family. It was funny, silly, emotionally heartbreaking, gutwrenching with one heck of a humdinger of a betrayal that I didn’t see coming.
It is a standalone and the third book in the Dirty Fairy Tale series but I would recommend you read the first two books first to get the full picture of everything that’s happening to lead up to the final conclusion.
Five heart pounding beautiful
Slow but Still Superb… For the first time in my life I am unsure how to feel about a book I ultimately really liked! I fully understand how odd that sentence must sound, but it’s true, and I have been toiling over this review for several hours now unsure of what to say… Don’t get me wrong here, I liked “Happily Never After” I truly did, but after the rapid-fire, intelligent, dominating glory of “Beauty and the Billionaire” and the absolute heart pounding brilliance that was “Not so Prince Charming” I was left unsatisfied with the pacing of this third installment.
I had extraordinarily high hopes for this book. And well, parts of it were indeed extraordinary and kept me riveted just as the other two had. However, the emotional landscape of Charlotte and Lance throughout the first dozen chapters just does not match the overall intensity of the book or the series.
Landish’s prose here is still impeccable, her overarching plot of the sadistic evil rival and corporate sabotage reaching a crescendo of intensity worthy of a 007 movie. But the underlying romance of Charlotte and Lance begins at such a slow pace I found myself glancing ahead to acquire a better idea of the overall stride of the story. Furthermore, the connection between Charlotte and Lance, as well as, their place in the overall lexicon of the Blackwell/Goldstone story line did not feel as natural as the first two, especially given Charlotte’s initial connection to Blackwell. But perhaps that is by design. After all, this is the conclusion to the battle between Thomas and Blackwell. And as a result Landish seemingly purposefully dials back on the involvement of the romance pairing within this book so she can swing back around to this larger, juicier plot point.
It’s almost as though she’s implementing a bit of a shadow plot, each book within this series having a different level of overall human intensity reminiscent of Goldilocks and her bears. Billionaire was explosive and hot, raw, and domineering, Mia and Thomas both portraying their individual alpha in an alluring and captivating way. Prince Charming, remained equally captivating but in a more subtle disciplined approach with Izzy and Gabe slowly building an unshakable foundation while stalking their safety from Blackwell, but without the super high alpha intensity of the first, Gabe being almost sweet to Thomas’ salty. Happily Never After lowers the intensity even further, to almost unintelligible levels and features Charlotte’s insecurities above all else, something rather unique given the damaged but powerful heroines making up the other two-thirds of their friend trio. Charlotte is almost timid and naive in her approach at times, a stark contrast to the unrelenting Mia and unshakable Izzy.
And while I don’t mind sweet and patient (I’m not completely heartless after all), I found myself internally snapping at Charlotte and Lance both throughout this book to keep pace with the action happening around them. But again, perhaps that is by design, a cooler level to contrast the warm and hot that were the two previous installments. A different emotional temperature to suit the specific roles each character is meant to play within the larger battle to persevere over Blackwell and his evil. Pushing us face first into the epic Blackwell/Goldstone conclusion! A conclusion that keeps this book in the must read category.
This was a well written book with a fantastic story line that will have you hooked right from the first page. Loved the relationship between lance and Charlotte, their connection was so strong right from the beginning that nothing was going to stand in their way.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series, they are all must reads!!
I loved the story of Lance and Charlotte. Since she was a baker, there are plenty of baking puns that made me laugh so hard. She has a hard time believing in true love but Lance shows her he is behind her 100%. There are definitely struggles that they have to work through. There is also a threat, in the form of a psycho businessman, Blackwell, that not only threatens their relationship but also their lives. You also get to catch up with Izzy and Mia, from the first two books. I love this series!
Story line is great and I loved the characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Unexpected twists and turns had me reading this book in one sitting. Great storyline and character development made this book a hot and enjoyable read!

A very emotional ending to the series. I totally didn’t see the resolution coming. As for the couple in this book. I found they were perfect for each other. I really enjoyed the development of the relationship. Overall a great story.
Happily Never After
A Dirty Fairy Tale (Dirty Fairy Tales, Book 3)
By: Lauren Landish
Narrated by: Carly Robins, Lance Greenfield, Tor Thom
Happily Never After, this title caught my eye! I love fairy tales and this third in the Dirty Fairy Tales series winds things up with a bang! This Cinderella story introduces us to Lance and Charlotte. Lance is home from the military to help get his family business back in order. When Charlotte’s family hears this, there are designs to have Lance set up with her stepsister. The only problem is Lance has eyes for Charlotte, the cupcake baking woman, and has no intention of being told he can’t have her. True to the story, we tie into the evilness of Mr. Blackwell and get to have appearances of characters from the first two books come into play. The suspense runs high and some unsuspecting friends and enemies. All the while, we have the a heightening romance that captures your heart. It’s a wonderful ending to this trilogy as Charlotte finds her Prince Charming!
I am so happy the narration team of this series continues to bring the story to life. Carly Robins is so vibrant when she narrates that I get completely caught up in her character. Lance Greenfield has that growlie rasp for the alpha male and he lends that possessive sound so you feel his protectiveness. And Tor Thom, never thought I would hear him as the evil one, but as Blackwell, he shines. That wickedness comes out of him with his deep baritone voice sending chills up your spine, waiting to see his next move! A wonderful narrating team that makes the story shine.

Charlotte has just opened her bakery and is trying to make it work. At a catering event, she meets Lance, an ex-Seal who is a son of a prestigious family. But as she sees her stepmother and stepsister make a play for him, she figures he is one of the snobby well-to-do. When Lance first sees Charlotte in her beautiful blue dress, it is smitten-time for him. She makes his stomach flutter and other parts to come to attention. His mother is wanting to push another woman on him but he will not have anything to do with her other than be polite. He knows what he wants and nothing will deter him from that. But other forces are at work here. Great mystery with bad guys and bad women. I loved Lance and his stance against his parents. He is a strong individual with a heart of gold. Loved this book!!!

Charlotte’s bakery is finally open and its a must have for everyone. Lance is coming home after being in the military to help his family with the business even though he doesn’t want to be involved in it. Charlotte’s scheming step-mother plots to have Lance married to her daughter and even plans to do so with his parents help. However once Lance sees Charlotte at the cake table he can’t take his eyes off of her. Their attraction to each other is electrifying and doesn’t go unnoticed by others around them. This gets them both talked to by theirs parents from ruining their evenings. However Lance has no plans to fall in line with his parents wishes and continues his pursuit of Charlotte. Going as far as working at a table in her bakery to be close to her. When things start going crazy because of her association with her friends Lance offers to help everyone out any way he can to bring down the threat to everyone. Will they ever find out where all the leaks to the threat are located? Can Lance make his family understand that Charlotte is it for him?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them sizzles with each turn of the page. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
Wow what amazing read that that is a page turner that will have you loving this amazing story. Ive not read all the story’s up tell this one. This is amazing read.
This was a good book! It was hot and steamy! The characters had a powerful connection. Lance Jacobs is a military seal on leave to help his father with the family business. He is the complete package with good looks and good character. Charlotte Dunn has a new bakery business to occupy all of her time. She has been burned one too many times in the name of love. She only has time for a Mr Right Now. That is until Charlotte meets Lance at a charity gala. He is A Knight In Shining Armor and so much more. But Charlotte is afraid to give herself a chance on love. They are faced with adversary from their families. Other things try to stand in the way of their happily ever after. Can they shut all of the negativity down and just concentrate on each other?
This is a fantastic story I love the storyline with the twists and turns you don’t see coming. This is book three in a fantastic series I highly recommend.
I really love this series by Lauren Landish. The common thread throughout this series are 3 best friends Mia, Izzy, and Charlotte and them finding love with 3 pretty diverse, but super alpha men Thomas, Gabe, and Lance. This is Lance and Charlotte’s story, think Cinderella without the cinders but flour instead. Characters are well developed, interesting story, great drama, and some great twists. Loved all 3 books.
Received an ARC and this is my honest review
Baker’s Delight
Lance Jacobs holds the Trifecta in hotness. He is a retired SEAL, drop dead gorgeous and sexy and would die protecting the ones he loves. Charlotte Dunn is the lucky recipient of this man’s attention. Lance returns home from being in the service to assist his father in the family business. He is a very eligible bachelor and his mother tries endlessly to set him up with women who he has no interest in. The only woman he has eyes for is Charlotte who he knows will fulfill his craving for sweets.
This story is full of intrigue that lurks in the shadows. That darkness is in the form of a diabolical puppeteer tightening his strings on the City of Roseboro to gain full control of what he believes is “His City”.
Lance feels he is not good enough for Charlotte as he is trying to adjust to a new life and Charlotte does not feel worthy of Lance’s affection for her. She has been ignored, not taken seriously and left emotionally empty by her family. Her trust issues are zero. There is steamy hot attraction between Lance and Charlotte, but they both want and need more. Their story was addictive and I hope to read more stories in this series.
Loved the book the story was well written and the characters were great. This book follows through the other books. Charlotte own a bakery she is very busy her business is booming she find she does not have time for anything else or does not want anything else in her life. Charlotte has the step mother and step sister’s that are horrible but they have their eyes on Lance. Lance is a ex Seal and he has come home to help out the family business.
Thank you for allowing me to review this book it was great.

Lauren Landish never fails to disappoint, always delivering a book that I can’t put down!!
This books very nicely ties up this trilogy with angst, romance, mystery, intrigue, puns and laughter! I literally read this book in a matter of hours because I could not put it down.
A saucy redhead who has been hurt by family and lovers, throws herself into her work vowing no more men. Enter Lance Jacobs – the attraction and chemistry are immediate between him and Charlotte, even though both sets of parents are determined to see him with Charlotte’s evil stepsister.
Lance befriends Charlotte and wins over her very slowly as she has erected steel walls around heart. Once it seems like she is finally going to get her happily ever after – her world crumbles when Lance is set up to take the fall for intentionally burning down her business.
Can Lance convince Charlotte that he is the man he promised her? Will the three BFFs and their men make it thru this??
I will be sad to see it end, however Lauren ended with a bang. We have Charlotte who opens her bakery and needs no distraction but could the girl get one, yes please to have her enjoy life with the family and friends she had. She found her prince charming and hottie Lance..Oh I wish that were me, we have betrayals, jealousy and a whole lot hotness..I loved Lance, he was no joke and no one was going to mess up what he and Charlotte had…
