Take one American singer who doesn’t believe in falling in love… sensible wife, who values commitment. He wants a partnership, a friendship, and none of the craziness that goes with falling in love. As far as he can see, there’s only one way to get exactly what he wants—he needs an arranged marriage.
…add a Scottish librarian who has given up on ever falling in love…
Caroline Patterson terrifies men. With her no-nonsense attitude, and ice queen demeanour, she’s in control of everything—and everyone—around her. Her sensible shoes and grey skirt suits act like a force field, repelling male attention. At thirty-one, she can’t remember the last time she went on a date and is beginning to think she’ll never have a family of her own. When an American stranger approaches Caroline with a marriage proposal that resembles a business contract, she quickly accepts. She doesn’t expect romance. But she does expect to control each and every detail of their lives together. Because as life has taught her—if you aren’t in control, bad things happen.
…and you get romance Invertary style!
Josh and Caroline learn the hard way that falling in love isn’t something you can avoid. And it definitely isn’t something you can control. Their well laid plans are about to degenerate into chaos, as they fall in love the Invertary way.

This is hilarious.if you need a good laugh, this is the book for you.
This book had me roar out loud with laughter twice and is a must read!
Light reading.
I give 3-5 books 5 stars each year, and this is one of them. Both leading characters were wonderful, and the secondary characters helped the story get along and didn’t get in the way (too many stories have very dominant secondary characters). The side story of his parents was wonderful, hilarious, and real about growing old with your lover. Missing – didn’t really get the sense it was a Scottish person talking via the dialogue for any of the Scottish characters. Tea vs. coffee is insufficient differentiator.
This book is laugh out loud funny. Great read!
After I digested the “arranged” marriage factor, I enjoyed the spunk that Caroline’s character showed the American singer Josh. It was a truly romantic story even for Josh’s parents. I will recommend this to my friends
I really enjoyed this book and want to read more from this author!
Cute
A ridiculous but quick, fun, easy summer read.

Funny! Loved it.
I liked it so much, I bought the entire series!
I love Janet’s romantic comedy drama – Goody Two Shoes. I really enjoyed this book as a bit of ‘time out’ and found I could enjoy it slowly over a few days without losing the flow of the story. The Character’s were entertaining and fun to follow on the journey leading up to an arranged marriage. Great Read.
Love the world these characters live in
Probably the best cozy mystery I have ever read. Laughed from beginning to end.
Highly recommend this book to all that love a good read.
A very good read for a summer day.
At some point you want to just knock heads because of the sheer blindness of the characters but you just have to giggle a lot of the story and it is a feel good read. I recomend it as an entertaining yarn.
