This contemporary Christian romance novel is the first book in the Dalton Brothers series. When Wade Dalton moves to a small Florida beach community for peace and quiet and a new job, he encounters the four little kids next door who are anything but quiet. Because of difficult circumstances, the little noisemakers live with their young aunt, Cassie Rankin, who is their guardian. Wade is drawn to … drawn to her determination, giving nature, and beauty, but she’s at least a dozen years younger than he is—way too young for him. At least that’s what he keeps telling himself. Besides, he has issues that would only make life more challenging for Cassie and her charges. So he plans to stay out of their lives, but four little blessings refuse to let that happen.

This is a very well written book that plays out like a movie while you’re reading. You can see the beach, hear the children laughing, and feel the emotions. If you are looking for a sweet christian romance, grab this book. You will fall in love with the four children. I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
A sweet romance
At twenty-one, many women are focused on figuring out what they want from life. Cassie has found her calling in caring for her sister’s young children, selflessly setting aside any hopes or dreams she might have had. Coming out of a less-than-ideal childhood, her life changed when she was introduced to Jesus Christ through her mentor.
I really liked how genuine Cassie was. She still had fears and had trouble with her language when she was upset (though no inappropriate words were shared with me as a reader.) She struggled with her Christian walk like the rest of us. Yet her love for her nieces and nephews was amazing. I was a little jealous of the great control she was able to exert over them most of the time!
Though Wade was more than a decade older, and was, for the most part, poised and secure, he was apprehensive at the thought of a relationship with Cassie. Painful experience had him not only fearful of being hurt again; he also felt the twelve-year difference between them might have Cassie viewing him as an old man.
The children an adorable handful. While their hurtful past came out in sad little ways, the story was filled with hope.
Most of the conflict in the story was due to Cassie and Wade’s reticence to open their thoughts to on another. I should have expected this from the synopsis though I didn’t. I did feel that this made Wade seem a little immature.
Four Little Blessings is a fun story to while away an afternoon.
Read my review of Four Little Blessings by Merrillee Whren at AmongTheReads.net
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
Sweet, sweet story showing how love can find us at any time and in any circumstance. Even while trying to put that love aside, the main characters are brought together in a special way. I received a complimentary copy of this story. No review was required.
Four Little Blessings is an absolute delight to read. Each of those blessings has a very distinct personality that the author portrays beautifully. Wade and Cassie, the main characters, are both well-developed and extremely likable. There are a few bumps along the way for them to reach their HEA. I highly recommend this story to clean/wholesome romance readers and to Christian romance readers. I hope to read more of Merrillee Whren’s books.
I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this excellent story.
Enjoyed watching a young man open his heart heart to four children in need
I loved this book. The characters were so true to life. It was a happily ever after book.
This was an entertaining read.
Sweet story. Nice couple, cute kids and happy ending.
Awwwwww
I loved, loved reading this book. Very beautiful story. Short but heart warming. It captivated me from the first page to the last.
I loved reading about Cassie’s big heart to do the right thing by her nieces and nephews. She took on a role greater and bigger than her but over time she learnt to rely on God who is bigger and greater than any situation.
She fitted into her role without complaining or being bitter and lived with grace. I loved reading about the fact that she knew she wasn’t perfect and couldn’t do everything on her own and asked and received help. I could relate with her battling inferiority complex because of the kind of childhood she had.
I loved seeing how she learnt to rely on God over time.
Wade’s life circumstances drove him into insolation but the way he opened his heart to his new neighbors was so effortless and heartwarming. His eagerness to obey scriptures that says we should help one another in need was absolutely beautiful. I loved how he put God first in all he did. I loved reading how patient he was in dealing with Cassie’s wards.
Everyone needs an Angie in their lives. I loved her role in Cassie’s life.
The settings of the book was absolutely magical.
I loved reading about the saving grace of Jesus, the way he wipes away our past and give us a new start and second chances and how he plants his children along our paths to help us live out our Christian faith.
God loves, God forgives, God provides, God protects.
I received a free copy and all opinions are mine.
This is such a sweet romance between an unlikely pair. I loved Cassie! The way she was making a better life for her nieces and nephews is so very admirable. I liked how Wade thought he was too old for her. The playfulness between them was fun.
I also loved how Wade cared about the children, played with them, and how he helped Cassie with them. .Those poor little sweeties had such a difficult life before Cassie got them.
I enjoyed this story very much!
Sweet! Tender! Cassie is a wonderful, caring young lady who is raising her four nieces and nephews while their mother is in prison. Wade is a single man more than ten years older than Cassie and living next door. The adorable children and their attractive aunt catch Wade’s eye but he doesn’t know anything about kids! You will love Four Little Blessings! I received a complimentary e-book from the author Merrillee Whren. This is my honest opinion.
Four little blessings
I always love books with kids in it. Cassie is a guardian of four little ones. She definitely has her hands full. The kids meet Wade first and encouraged him to spend some time with them.
Wade is afraid to get involved due things from his past. But who can resist spending time with Four little Blessings and their guardian.
This is a first in a series. I am looking for forward reading more of the series.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write an positive review. This is my own opinion.
Things happen in life that we don’t expect. Wade a thirty something man in remission from cancer rents a place on the beach for some peace and quiet. Little did he expect a young woman in her early twenties with four kids. Cassie has custody of her niecescand nephews. Times are hard and when the children wrap themselves around Wade’s finger Cassie is worried about her attraction to him. But he comes to the rescue and they begin to act like a family. But will his previous bout of cancer and their age difference cause a problem. God places people in situations that they never thought would make them realize what love is all about. I received a complimentary copy and I am giving a review voluntarily.
Four Little Blessings is a sweet read by Merrillee Whren. I enjoyed this story. I admired the courage and determination of Cassie. I loved how she interacted with the children. So cute. I, also, enjoyed when she meets Wade. It was fun watching all of the characters grow throughout the book
I am giving Four Little Blessings four and a half stars. I recommend this delightful, heartwarming, and clean book to other readers. It is definitely worth a book.
I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
Cassie stepped up to take care of her nephews and nieces when her sister and her husband went to prison.
Cassie wants to take care of them so that they do not need to be separated into Foster Care. She is trying to get her life in order as well and has a Mentor. Her mentor helped her find a place to stay on the beach where she can raise the children. While on the beach in the townhouse, there is a single gentlemen trying to overcome a few issues of his own staying in the other half of the townhouse.
Can Cassie and Wade work things out and make a happy home for the children. Is this in God’s plan for them.
I really enjoyed this book and hated when I had to put it down to go to work. A must read for anyone who wants a great romance to read.
I very much enjoyed this book about a young lady who takes on the responsibility of raising all 4 of her sister’s children when said sister goes to prison! What a massive responsibility that would be! She moves into a Florida beach house and is overcome by all she has to do. That isn’t what she had planned for her life but she wants to keep the kids together and she loves those rambunctious kids with all her heart! Next door is a somewhat older neighbor who has also rented a Florida beach house to have some peace and quiet while he works as a forester and enjoys the fact that he’s recovered from cancer. However, the first day there, those 4 children break the solitude he’s craved and they suck him into their lives! This isn’t what he had planned for the summer! Soon, that little family next door is taking all his time and he doesn’t know how that happened! I enjoyed the children and the relationship between their aunt and the neighbor! It was so sweet how everyone grew during the summer and how love blossomed. I would recommend it!
While I appreciate good Christian fiction, this book was over the top with syrupy, sweetness that I thought would give me cavities. The two main characters spend the vast majority of the book wondering what the other person is thinking of them, so that it reads like two diaries of junior high kids. The story would have been great without all the “her pulse quickened,” or “his heart nearly stopped” on practically every single page. The idea was great, but I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes.
A lot of repetitive thoughts. Seemed to drag on. I finally skipped a large portion and went to the end, which wasn’t a surprise. Boring.
I have not read this book yet
