I only had one rule: don’t fall in love with the cruel prince.I broke it.When the clock struck twelve, I went back to being a servant. He promised to let me go with my heart in pieces…but Grayson Crowne always was king at breaking promises.I refuse to let him lock me in a tower.I have no choice but to take the only out offered me—another cruel prince.Refuge in a man I loathe.Rescued from the … prince.
Refuge in a man I loathe.
Rescued from the man I love.
I wanted to forget Grayson, forget Crowne Hall, and hide, however fate has other plans.
But if Grayson and I are fated, then our fate is forbidden.
Our happily ever after will only end one way…in heartbreak.
Forbidden Fate is the third book in the Crowne Point universe. You need to have read Stolen Soulmate to read Forbidden Fate.

This has to be my most desired read of 2020, but it’s also been the hardest for me to start. I dread the outcome but crave the answers all in the same breath. First just so you know there will be spoilers in this review! But MCG literally killed me! Your emotions reading this will be all over the place. Angry, sad, happy, angry, even angrier. It will be a never ending spiral. You think you might get out of it at points only to be drug back in. Life will honestly never be the same for you. My hopeful outlook on this whole series is seriously shook. I think I must of been a villain in a past life to deserve such a punishment and trust me karma struck.
PSA: This book includes some steamy scenes, death of happiness, and so much more.
I was equal parts scared and excited. I had experienced a massive book hangover from the last book and was fearful this one would be even more intense. I went back and forth about the best way to tackle this story: slowly read it one chapter at a time to give myself time to recover or rip it like a band-aid and read it quickly. Guess which one won? Yes you guessed it. The slow painful one. Because hey I wasn’t going to be tormented enough with this tale. But then when I got about 40% into the story, I started binging chapters all at once because I got greedy.
As I was reading I kept thinking, what the frack!!!! Grayson was once again annoying the heck out of me and his actions. Instead of making things better he made them worse and forced Story to do something she really didn’t want to do. All I wanted for her was to run. Run as fast and as far away from Crowne hall as possible. And Story was making all the wrong choices. I mean there were so many misunderstandings! I was almost tearing my hair out thinking, what are you two doing!!! I think I was more on Grayson’s side than Story’s in this one. And Charlotte…. that b…i…t…c…h…, I wanted to b slap the heck out of her! It was hard to get a read on West. I had no idea what he was thinking, his agenda. But he showed his true nature as did many others. I found in this story that a snake does not always look like a snake but boy can they sneak up on you. And the ending…
In the words of Caroline Channing from Two Broke Girls, “I can’t, I just can’t!” Pretty much sums up my feelings. I don’t know how to feel. It’s all twisted up and knotted. I don’t have as much as a book hangover with this but boy am I invested in Grayson and Story. Even though this story had some much angst, pain, heartache, and undying love, I loved reading this story.
Gahhh!! I have no words! This book, this whole series!! Just amazing!!
I’m not okay after reading this heart shattering, forbidden love story. You won’t be either.
Sometimes forbidden love is the purest form of love. Grayson and Story persist to prove that in the continuance of their fight for their happily ever after. Forbidden Fate brought me to my knees, gripping at my chest, aching for them and the fate working against them. This emotional roller coaster of angst, passion and what one will do for love is nothing less than stellar. Hail to Mary Catherine Gebhard, the angst queen in this five star, top read of 2020. You have me on my knees begging for more. Mary Catherine Gebhard
After an anxious wait for this follow up book to Stolen Soulmates, I devoured this wonderful, twisted, gothic book! My stress factors were so high as I plunged into this alternate world of the elite and their iron clad, often cruel, traditions.
I loved that Story is getting stronger, but my heart kept breaking for her! Grayson..well he is working his way into my affections . I found myself wanting to punch assorted noses and looking for severe come uppances!
Such a fabulous read! I love the alternative, gothic reality of huge, unchecked and remorserseless wealth with its lack of morals or kindness, so that I can root for their overthrow!
It has a touch of a very twisted Downton at times.
Great read! Can’t wait for more!!
Forbidden Fate is a gut wrenching, heart stopping, barely breathing, hair pulling crazy story to say the least.
Forbidden Fate is the next part of Grayson Crowne and Story Hale’s story and it is a wild one that will leave you on the edge of your seat. With so much head spinning drama and endless disasters. This story leaves you wondering if they will ever reach there happily ever after together?…
From start to finish I couldn’t get enough of this one. Mary really knows how to make people go insane. The characters are all a little twisted in some way but enjoyable. I can’t wait to read what comes next for the people of Crowne Pointe.
5*
Of course this is 5 stars. There can really be no doubt. After the rollercoaster ride that Stolen Soulmate took me on, I thought I was ready for more of Gray and Story.
I wasn’t.
If Stolen Soulmate was a rollercoaster, then Forbidden Fate was a hurricane.
It swept me away and flopped all my internal organs around, only to land me 50 miles from where I started sat up in a tree with no way down.
I don’t know how Mary Catherine Gebhard does it. Weaves magic and emotion in words. But she does and every book is more and more and just more.
If I never invest my time and heart in a book couple again, I’m glad I did with Grayson and Story.
I am not sure where to start. I was itching to read this continuation from Stolen Soulmate, but I knew it was going to crush me, I had to read it in spurts to get through it. Like watching a movie and you know something is going to happen and you cover your eyes but then spread your fingers to watch the train wreck happen. Story and Gray, Gray and Lottie, Story and West, the families, the help, there is so much angst and conniving going on. I fist pumped and cheered during parts, I ached with the characters, I wanted to smack some of them, and my heart hurts after finishing it. Book hangovers are a real thing and I am still reeling from this one. Broken, sexy, romantic and all the angst you could ever want.
“This hell was too beautifully designed not to be fate.” ~ Grayson
“What demons will we summon not to succumb to those we fear live inside us? What darkness will we give in to, what parts will we dirty and tarnish just to keep a little piece pure?” ~ Story
Their relationship started off as a mistake, a stolen kiss, but once it happened they were addicted to one another, and the feeling that kiss spawned. Being together is forbidden, she is the help and he is the prince of the kingdom, and a woman like her is only meant to be a mistress. He is promised to marry another, he has no choice in the matter, it is a deal made by his grandfather… but that doesn’t stop him from wanting his little nun.
Story doesn’t want to be Grayson’s mistress, his part-time lover that stays hidden behind closed doors, she wants to be his only, the woman by his side everyday. But that isn’t a life he can give her, he has a wife now, one he promised forever too… so she must walk away. But Grayson isn’t so ready to say goodbye just yet…
Forbidden Fate reunites us with the Grayson and Story, and brings us right back into the turbulent situation their love has created. These two are perfect for one another, but they are the only one’s who can see that, or want to see it. His family has expectations and duties lined up for him, and messing around with the help threatens to derail those plans, so they tell him it’s time to let her go. But he can’t, and it is torturous to watch him be forced into a life he doesn’t want or belong in, my heart broke for these two. The desperate situation they are forced into, then forces them to make desperate choices, ones that are bound to cost them dearly. This isn’t a story for the faint-hearted, it will break you, push you past your boundaries, and anger you… it is a dark and edgy romance that will leave your heart and emotions in complete disarray. Once I started it I couldn’t pry my eyes from the pages, I was completely consumed by the words, and completely enraptured with these two. I highly recommend you take a chance on this one, it is one of those stories you won’t be able to forget, it’s characters will invade your soul, steal your heart and leave it forever marked!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Feast on their forbidden fate! 5 stars
This was a heart-wrenching, gut-wrenching love story. I yelled at the characters, pulled at my hair and cried ugly tears, but that was what was beautiful about this book and author! Everything between Story and Gray got so tangled and messy even more so than in Stolen Soulmate, and I can’t say anything more than that without giving away spoilers. Both Gray and Story surprised me in this book. Gray surprised me in a good way in this book, and he made me swoon. Story actually disappointed me in this book, but I could understand her feelings and actions. At times, I wanted to strangle them both or hug them both! I feasted on this author’s words and Story and Gray’s world until the very last page. I do not think I have ever rooted harder for a couple to end up together like I do for Story and Gray. But do their fates end up together? Read this book that I highly recommend and find out!
*I received an advanced copy of this ebook for my honest review.*
Forbidden Fate has wrecked me in the best way, and left me with a book hangover I don’t want to cure.
This universe, these characters Mary has created will burrow into your psyche and leave you gutted. This is a whole other level of storytelling, a work of art that will be a standard against which I will judge future books. It’s compelling, addictive, and consuming even beyond the turn of the last page.
Grayson and Story had me twisted up in knots. They’re both struggling with the expectations of their families and society. I wanted to alternate between hugging and throttling both of them throughout the book. Gray in particular is under so much pressure, trying to reconcile who he has become versus who he always wanted to be. He is truly the soul this story. The cruel, twisted, agonizingly beautiful soul of this story.
Forbidden Fate is not to be missed. It’s beyond a five-star read, it deserves all the stars.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advanced copy of this book
I was waiting to read the continuation of Story and Grayson book. And when I am writing this review I still don’t know how to think about this book.
Something in „Forbidden Fate” are awesome, something are bad to me.
I am really curious why Mary Catherine Gebhard done a two books with Story’s and Grayson’s story. I think, that one book will be better for them, because they need their HEA, but not in this way.
In „Forbidden Fate” all heroes are different. Grayson who I really liked from first book now is a asshole. In the end he redeemed himself, but I am still not sure about my feelings to him.
Story done a one right thing in this book and it is sad that she won’t pull this until the end, but I still have hope that she will find her brain.
„Forbidden Fate” is a book which has a lots of twists and they are a really strong side in this story.
We have here unexpected events and decisions done by ours heroes.
I think that it is right way to meet Story and Grayson again and do your own opinion.
It’s been almost a week and my heart still hasn’t recovered!
This story keeps getting more and more convoluted. Things occur that are way beyond my imagination. I think this complex and forbidden story is definitely ON TOP OF MY BEST READ LIST OF ALL TIME!!
Grayson will forever own my heart. He may have his faults but he was put in a situation that was inevitable with his family. Things had to happen a certain way and his future was arranged way before he was even born. Grayson’s love for Story is one that will totally keep your heart pumping and your veins working double time.
Every single word and sentence and paragraph in this book totally owned me.
The fierceness that Story showed in this book had me high-fiving her at times, but there were times that I wanted to jump into the book and smack some sense into her. But I loved how Grayson kept her on her toes. She made him chase and chase her every step of the way. Their love story is one that is unforgettable.
I love MC Gebhard’s writing. She’s certainly has become one of my top authors to read!
Definitely one of my top reads of 2020. Five stars is not enough.
As soon as I saw this in my kindle, I knew that I was not sleeping at all. There is no way I would be able to put Story and Gray down even for a second. I did my happy dance and then dove right in. MCG did not fail. She pulled me in with every single word she wrote. This is why I love her and will continue to read anything she writes.
Gray, Gray, Gray……. how I missed you and your dirty mouth. Let’s not forget his biting. LOVE.THE.BITING. With every word I read I felt the passion between Story and Gray. It’s a love that we all want to feel in our bones. You feel the desperation in wanting to be together and fighting all of these obstacles in their way. I cried for Story for the way she was treated and felt very proud of her for the way she responded. Gray made me mad with his words to Story, but I swooned when he showed her the side no one else knew of. Lottie, West, Tansy, Berly and the others are no match for what Story and Gray are meant to be. Can’t say more without giving away too much.
I’m still feeling a ball in the pit of my stomach 12 hours after finishing this book. I’m also pretty sure I’ll be feeling like this for a while.
I’ve also decided that I’m adding lemon suckers, grilled cheese and whiskey to my diet.
I have used the expression myself and have read it in a million other reviews, but I SWEAR it is so true for this book. Forbidden Fate is a major roller coaster ride of emotions that you just cannot let go of once you finish the book. This is book three of the Crowne Point Universe series by Mary Catherine Gebhard and I declare I have whiplash from my hate to love to hate again for the characters Grayson and Story! They are both just so…. ughh! Oh, my lawd I just want them to pull their heads out of their, well you know where and get their acts together. Gebhard can spin a tale that just drags your heart through the old emotional wringer and leaves nothing left to keep beating. The characters are wonderful because they are complex, and they continue to grow and learn throughout the story. Stolen Soulmate is a must read before Forbidden Fate or you will just be lost, and guess what? Story and Grayson’s story is not over yet, so buckle up there is still more to come. Apparently these two are leading Ms. Gebhard down a very long and winding road. 5-Crownes for Forbidden Fate by Mary Catherine Gebhard.
Been eagerly awaiting to find out the fate of Gray and Story since finishing Stolen Soulmate. That book DESTROYED me, and I’m honestly expecting to be just as broken by Forbidden Fate. Even by just the first chapter I can see my suspicions may be true.
Yet another book I’m finding myself way too invested in to remember to review as I go. We are thrown right back in to where we left off, and the exquisite detailing yet again makes it feel like you are right there beside the characters. Personally I’m glad that’s not really the case as I wouldn’t be able to trust myself around sharp objects and the du Lac’s.
Honestly I’m finding it hard to come up with non spoilerish words/sentences, especially when I’m not even halfway and I’ve wanted to throw my kindle more than several times. Forbidden Fate cannot be read on it’s own, so for everyone reading, imagine the torture of Stolen Soulmate tenfold. Least the du Lac’s weren’t around as much in the first book. Every time you think things are finally going the way we’ve all prayed for, BAM, something else happens. Talk about rollercoaster of emotions.
In fact this broken girl is going to leave the book right there…
ONE CLICK IMMEDIATELY
Words will never give this book the justice it deserves , I am beautifully broken…
Forbidden fate is the continuation of Story and Grayson’s heartbreaking love affair.
“Fate is a thread, you can tie it in a thousand knots but you’ll always come to the same end”
This book captures you heart and soul and never releases them.
When a book makes your heart ache from the very first page then takes you through every emotion you can think of, leaving you to pick up the shattered pieces you know it will be a book you will always remember.
Forbidden fate will make you scream and shout and you will almost certainly cry ALL the tears but it’s also a beautifully written masterpiece mary sure loves to torture us and I’m loving EVERY minute of it.
Once in awhile, a story comes along that absolutely consumes the reader. Forbidden Fate (and Stolen Soulmate), the second and third installments in the Crowne Point series by Mary Catherine Gebhard, is one of those stories.
Forbidden Fate continues Grayson Crowne and Story’s journey, and you must read Stolen Soulmate before reading this book. In Forbidden Fate, Gray and Story find themselves both in a miserable and seemingly impossible situation. What is one willing to do, willing to give up, for true love? You will feel every emotion while reading this story. I was angry, sad, disappointed, shocked and heartbroken. To me, that is what makes a book truly unforgettable, when you forget that you’re reading and just feel everything; when you’re completely taken into another world. And, yes, my heart truly broke for Story and Gray. I won’t say more than that because I don’t want to give anything away, but trust me, you need to read this book! This story is one that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.
***5 heartbreaking “Cinderella of Crowne Hall!!!” stars***
I died a thousand deaths while i was reading this book!!!!
Mary had squeezed my heart in the palm of her hand and she wasn’t letting go!!!!
Even after I finished the book, I still feel this dark cloud upon me!!!!
Gray and Story’s story was ingrained inside of me and i don’t believe that I’ll ever get over it!!!!
Guys, you’re not ready for what is about to happen in here!!!!
“Fate is a thread; you can tie it a thousand knots but you’ll always come to the same end.”
Honestly, I was so scared to read this story after all the shits that took place in the first book.
I wasn’t ready and still, i got a very deep breath or a thousand and I started this hard journey!!!
My heart was ready to jumb outside my chest in every turn, in every hard and emotional encounter between Story and Gray, in every obstacle that others were putting between them!!!!
It wasn’t about fate, it was about bad choices that had the power to destroy and evil people that don’t know shit about love and respect!!
I was sooo mad in here!!! Mad with many persons and many choices that our heroes had made…
I just needed redemption for these two persons that their only mistake was to love unconditionally and eternally a person that they weren’t suppose to.
After that ending in the first book, i was dreadful of the future…
What that will mean for Gray??? What that will mean for Story???
“People like us don’t get to choose our fates, Grayson.”
Their intense connection were always there to guide their way to each other, even though some people were determined to keep them far away from this one in a lifetime love that they were sharing!!!
These two had too many things to face… Brutal, hurtful things and together they could be more strong to face it but fate is always getting in the way.
So what will happen after all???
Well, i was wondering…
Have you ever see Mary Catherine Gebhard on a photo or in a video???
Well, that sweet, cute face of hers could fool you, right???
This woman is evil and I mean it in a good way!!!!
Her mind works in very mysterious and perplexing ways and she is delivering the most remarkable stories!!!! Her writing signature is unique and captivating!!!
You want to run away from the pain that she can cause you with her words, but it’s impossible to not dive in them headfirst as a volunteer!!!!
She breaks me, but she has the ability to put my pieces back together!!!
Can’t wait to see what else she has is store for us next!!!!
“There is no such thing as a happily ever after…”

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Grayson has become an expert at breaking promises. Story wants to break out of that routine. She steps up and she ends up in a fate that includes another cruel prince. She hates him. She loves Gray. All she wants is to forget, but fate won’t let her play that game. No. Fate has forbidden plans for Story.
*Book three in the Crowne Point universe. Reading Stolen Soulmate is required before starting this.*
Well, hello, there. I can’t say much, now, can I? The spoilers are dying to come out, but I’m keeping it vague and simple. What I can tell you is that you’ll love it. This was another exquisite addition to the Crowne Point universe! After Heartless Hero, Forbidden Fate is definitely my next fav. I understood Gray better; his actions were excruciating but also gave him more depth as a character. Story stepped up. Her reactions this time around were more lively; she knew what was at stake. She had a lot to lose. I admired her in Forbidden Fate, more than in Stolen Soulmate. My heart broke for her multiple times. I rooted for this leading lady and I wished the best for her. As for Lottie? I don’t know her. West? NO COMMENT.
Our leading characters passed a lot of knowledge upon us, for example, refreshing the concept of friendship and hate-ship. I had lot of hate-ships in this story. The angst, drama and overall madness was ever-present. Get ready for this little light beach read. Couple it with some wine and see you on the other side!
