I only had one rule: don’t fall in love with the cruel prince.I broke it.When the clock struck twelve, I went back to being a servant. He promised to let me go with my heart in pieces…but Grayson Crowne always was king at breaking promises.I refuse to let him lock me in a tower.I have no choice but to take the only out offered me—another cruel prince.Refuge in a man I loathe.Rescued from the … prince.
Refuge in a man I loathe.
Rescued from the man I love.
I wanted to forget Grayson, forget Crowne Hall, and hide, however fate has other plans.
But if Grayson and I are fated, then our fate is forbidden.
Our happily ever after will only end one way…in heartbreak.
Forbidden Fate is the third book in the Crowne Point universe. You need to have read Stolen Soulmate to read Forbidden Fate.

Mary Catherine Gebhard is a writing genius. She can make you feel hopeful, shatter your soul, and keep you coming back for more with Forbidden Fate. It is another perfect continuation of Story and Grayson’s stunning romance.
*I will do my absolute best to keep this review spoiler-free.*
Forbidden Fate picks up with Grayson breaking so many promises. He has really hurt Story and makes you question is their story is fated to end a certain way. Story is dealing with so much and is trying to figure out a way to stop having feelings for Grayson. That is a tough feat and harder than she expected.
Grayson’s decisions have such an effect on Story. She is making choices that she may not have made before. You can expect lots of drama, tension, and that signature Gray and Story chemistry.
I give Forbidden Fate 5 stars. I will never tire of reading Mary’s books. They are so unique and poignant. I am blown away by this book. I am ready for more!
Number of times I yelled at my phone while reading? 12
Number of times I threw the phone across the room? 7 (phone survided, unlike my sanity)
Number of times I cried? TOO MANY TO COUNT.
I applaud Mary for plotting this book because it’s BRILLIANT, but I also hate her for putting our hearts through a wood chipper!
Writing this review is one of the most difficult ones I’ve ever done. Why? Well, first of all it’s really difficult trying not to accidentally let a spoiler slip. And second because this book left me speechless. I’ll start by saying that I absolutely LOVE this book. When someone asks me in five years what was the most emotional book I’ve ever read, I bet this one will still pop up in my head as number one. And if it isn’t one of my top reads ever then I don’t know what is.
Gray is a real a-hole on the outside. He is careless, cruel even, he is mad at the world and certainly has a temper. I have a love-hate relationship with him because I literally fall in love with him with one line and then want to slap him for the line that follows. But still, he is one of the best (anti) hero I’ve ever read!
Story annoyed me half of the book, but in a good kind of way (yes there’s a good way to be annoyed, trust me). She is so clueless most of the time, but that’s not really her fault. She is fierce and strong despite all the stuff thrown at her. I think a lot of her actions in Forbidden Fate is built on a survival instinct. Lottie and West…yeah no I’m not even going there. Story, Gray, Lottie and West are a one gigantic mess. On their own and together. Enough said on the topic.
This story does not lack in the dramal department. It’s a crazy rollercoaster of emotions that just goes on and on and up and down and on and on. When I finally felt like I could take a deep breath and relax for a bit, I was hit right across the face with more drama. I was not able to put it down, I literally stayed up all night reading. How to prepare yourself for reading Forbidden Fate? Lots of liquids (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), have some tissues close by, get your favorite comfort snack and hope for the best.
Rating this book with five stars doesn’t do it any justice but that’s all I can give it!
Holy sweet baby Jesus! What. Did. I. Just. Read?
That hurt. It hurt in all the ways you want a book to hurt. I was on the edge of my seat, my chest hurt, it was hard to breathe, I COULD NOT PUT DOWN THIS BOOK.
I was consumed, swallowed whole, taken completely by Story and Gray.
The Crownes.
The DuLacs.
All. Of. It.
The twists.
The turns.
The roller coaster ride that was this freaking book.
I don’t think you understand. I don’t think you know.
Forbidden Fate is a TOP 2020 read. Thank god something amazing has happened this year.
Mary Catherine Gebhard has completely destroyed me in the best–and maybe worst–possible way.

Forbidden Fate: Crowne Point Series (Book 3)by Mary C Gebhard
Of course Mary was going slay this book. and slay she did. I wasn’t surprised at how gripping FF was. Mary is an ahhhmmmaaazzzingg writer and she knows how to play you like a clarinet.
I cried, I laughed, I screeched, I cried some more. My jaw hit the floor, I even got whiplash from all the plot twists. Prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions because that’s what this is.
Have you read the first two books in the Crowne Point series? Heartless Hero? Stolen Soulmate? If you haven’t, have you truly read a good book, if you haven’t read an MCG book? If you have, then you know your in for the ride of your life with FF!
It’s like reading Romeo and Juliet, except Romeo is cruel and Juliet is not the princess, she’s the servant girl. Words are only the tip of the iceberg of what I was actually feeling during this read. Like an adrenaline junkie, I was steamrolling through this book like it was my last read.
These books are everything!! Dark, twisted and kinky deliciousness!!
Gray and Story are fighting to stay away from each other or to be together, the jury is still out on that one, they’re hearts are like magnets, drawn to each other. If Gray is an electron, Story is the nucleus. With the Du Lac’s in the midst, both Gray and Story find themselves ripping each other to shreds. But at what cost? more tears? more secrets? more betrayal? more heartbreak? more broken promises?
This was an incredible follow-up to Stolen Soulmate! Crowne Point is an insane place to be, and Gray and Story continuously draw you in with their dynamic. With twists and turns and unbelievable angst, this was a book I could not put down.
Another amazing, emotional read full of twists and turns.
Story and Grey’s story continues in Forbidden Fate with more hurt, anguish and turns that you will never see coming. A story about forbidden love, loss and sacrifices that will leave you speechless.
At one point during this book I think I hated every single character because of the stupid choices they were making,
I had to stop and take a breather so many times because of how angry I was getting.
Mary Catherine Gebhard really pulls on your emotional heartstrings with Forbidden Fate.
OH. MY. GOD. Mary, what did you do to me with this book?! It’s so hard to find words to describe what this book did to me but basically I feel like it shot me in the chest. Forbidden Fate is a story that just hurt so good. Like you can be bawling and screaming at Gray or Story but still wanting more at the same time. u2063I have zero chill when it comes to Forbidden Fate. This is definitely a for 2020!u2063!!u2063u2063
MCG lives up to one of her nicknames as the Reaper of Hearts with this one. My heart stopped multiple times and then was shredded into a million pieces. I was so not ready for the emotional turmoil that FF put me through. Even now that I have taken some time to think about it for my review, some scenes still just get to me. If you thought that Stolen Soulmate fucked with your emotions, just go in knowing that Forbidden Fate will do it 10x over. I was sucked into this book so hard. I couldn’t focus on anything else in my life until I finished it. There were SO MANY shocking moments. Every time you think you’re safe, you’re not. Mary makes sure to throw you out of your comfort zone and to shock the hell out of you. I was literally SCREAMING at this book through so many moments. I actually wanted to throw my kindle at one point. Like that would somehow stop what was happening or like it could erase the words from my mine… it couldn’t. The scenes are still burned into my brain like a movie.
But I won’t go into the plot right now. This is really a book that you need to go into not knowing any spoilers or have any type of idea of what’s going to happen. Whatever you’re thinking could or might happen, forget it.I went in wanting or expecting things to happen and completely changed my mind on a number of things. Your allegiance to certain characters will be strongly tested throughout the book so don’t be surprised if you end up having different feelings towards them when the book ends. Oh and the steam!!! There were some seriously scenes so be forewarned…. you may not want to read this in public or near family members.
FF was definitely one of my top reads of 2020. I was so emotionally wrecked after reading this book, I could not move on for days! My heart and soul had been shattered. Be prepared to feel shocked, crushed, and destroyed! But you know… in a good way! u2063There are going to be times when you need to take a break or just a quick pause. Times where you feel like you can’t keep going and doing this to yourself. But just. keep. reading. I cannot wait for this book to be released so I can see all the reactions and honestly so that everyone else can feel my pain and understand the emotional roller coaster that is Forbidden Fate. Good luck keeping your sanity!
Well….yikes, that was brutal.
Forbidden Fate is the book I have been anticipating and waiting for since I finished Stolen Soulmate earlier this year. To say I was not prepared is probably the understatement of the century. I felt like my emotions were being put through a washing machine and just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, Mary put the cycle on high and I was emotionally destroyed even more. It took me 2 weeks to write this review because of the book hangover Mary left me in.
Forbidden Fate has everything I have come to expect from Mary, angst, drama, twists and turns that you do not see coming, and somehow she manages to put it into one beautiful package and deliver it as this gorgeous story that always leaves you wanting more. I am absolutely impressed with how much her writing grows with each story. Make sure you grab Forbidden Fate today because it is definitely worth it!
Mary had a little lamb and it was me. For real, I followed the authors every word in Forbidden Fate and it was an epic ride with epic proportions. Grayson and Story’s journey is not an easy one to follow. They are like a tornado destroying or damaging anything in its path which happens to be your heart! Even if the destruction has wreaked havoc on your heart and soul the storm eventually comes to an end. Mary Catherine Gebhard will leave no doubts in your mind about how deep the love runs between Gray and Story. The author penned another work of art with this masterpiece. The Crowne Point Series to me is an all-consuming top read of 2020. I can’t recommend it enough.
Oh my Lord! What have I just read?? Mary I am speechless. My heart was literally in my stomach for more than 50% of this book. I still want to throat punch West, Lotti needs to go somewhere with herself and Gray and Story…..all the feels but that ending my heart is literally shattered right now! Literally in pieces on the floor but I have faith….Story and Gray will prevail…they will come out on top against all of the odds
There are not enough stars to pull from this universe to give to you Mary.
You have left me speechless with your words . This book picks up exactly where book 1 left off and I thought I was the mastermind in figuring out exactly what would have transpired but I have been left floating in the vortex of pain.
Make pain your friend, you will need it when reading this forbidden love story. Cinderella has nothing on Story, those glass slippers will be shattered and every cut will be felt deep into your soul.
I love authors that challenge the norm and create love stories that hurt. This story is unlike any other I have read. It’s brutal , it’s unpredictable and tears will be had. Grab lots of tissues, wine, chocolate because you will need it.
Settling in to read Forbidden Fate, I knew my heart was gonna take a hit. How badly I didn’t realise.
Mary has once again captivated me in a way that only she can. Having read the first one I was excited to see where Story and Grayson were going to go next at Crowne Point, and I was not disappointed.
It was thrilling, heartbreaking, not to mention a real on your seat read.
I read it in under a day, I just couldn’t put it down.
Phenomenal writing, once again and Mary has such a wonderful delivery to her words.
5* read from me.
Never had I been more anxious and afraid for a book then Forbidden Fate, After the ending with Stolen Soulmate I knew Forbidden Fate was going to wreck me emotionally. Not going to lie I was left gutted!! Story and Grayson’s story is full of angst, chaos and heartbreak. I’m not spoiling anything in this book is a must read and it’s a raw real experience. I’m anxiously waiting for Destroyed Destiney!
I think i must’ve killed Mary’s hamster in another life. I’m sure it was an accident but alas she has not forgiven me.Why do i say this?Because damnit Mary my heart is physically bleeding..It is crying tears of woe.(I’ve always wanted to use woe in a sentence and now my life is complete)This book is completely and uttely soul fulfilling.Story and Graysons beautiful tale has had so many twists and turns and is absolutely magnificent. As per usual it is beautifully written with so much depth into the characters you feel as if you know them mind, body and soul. With steam and sexy for days this book is a rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you questions wether Mary gets a secret joy from our tears. She bathes in them.I cannot wait to read the next installment in this series.I never want this series to end!..
P.s……. lottie is a cow.Mooooo!!…
P.s.s west is a troll..
Forbidden Fate is gonna tear your soul wide open and rip your heart out!
Even days out I am still a mess from this book! Mary Catherine wrecked complete havoc on my soul and emotions! Never once did I get bored, I was constantly on the edge of my seat!
One of my favorite things was reading Story’s character just strengthen even more. Story has become one of my fave female leads!
Mary’s way with words is just mind blowing. The fact she can make me visualize everything going on is spectacular!
And cruel cruel Grayson Crowne. Have you ever just loved a character so much because of his cruelness? Gah my heart hurts still thinking of all the things he did to Story and said to her.
This book still has me speechless and definitely makes the list of one of my favorite books of 2020!
Did you liked puppets shows when you were kids?
I did and I feel like Grey is the Puppets Master in every possible way in this book.
That’s the only thing I’m going to say about this book.
Mind blowing puppets story!
This is the third book in the Crowne Point series, and the continuation of Greyson, and Story’s twisted story. This book picks up from the Stolen Soulmate, and we are taken on a whirl wind ride, of ups, and downs, and left reeling with whats to come next. This was dark, intense, gritty, dramatic, and emotional. I can’t wait to continue the series, in book four.
Mary didn’t just break my heart with this story of real and raw love broken by the expectations of a cruel world…nope she completely SHATTERED MY ENTIRE BEING! Story and Gray are back and it’s absolutely nothing like you’d expect! I had to take HOURS after I finished this book to truly reflect on everything I just read!
The emotions evoked while reading this book were boundless and heart-wrenching. I never in a million years thought that she could rip more emotions from me than she did in Stolen Soulmate….here I am swallowing those thoughts whole because this woman has done it! I experienced them all!
I was angry. I was hurt! I was sad! I was happy!
I felt joy! I felt the angst! I felt hatred! I felt love!
PURE UNADULTERED HATE!
PURE SPELL BINDING LOVE!
Throughout all the emotions what I felt the most was love! The love one has for another, the kind of love where someone offers to CRUSH THEIR ENTIRE WORLD just to give you YOUR ENTIRE WORLD! The kind of love that causes blind rage and mind-numbing memories to build up that have nowhere else to go but out! The brazen and stolen moments written in these pages will have you screaming for more!
Gray is my number ONE from this entire series! I’ve wanted his story since his appearance in his sister’s novel “Heartless Hero”. I was intrigued by him upon first meeting and I’ve loved getting his story.
I hate spoilers! HATE HATE HATE spoilers! Because of this I can’t reveal how I truly feel about anyone in this story. I absolutely REFUSE to spoil any part of this book for anyone else so I have to be very careful what I say in order to prevent this. I’ll say this for sure, If you read Stolen Soulmate and loved it, truly loved their forbidden love and who they were deep down inside then I think you’d love Forbidden Fate!
We call Mary THE RIPPER because this woman is going to make you FEEL IT ALL! She wants you to feel EVERY LITTLE THING and she’s going to make it happen. This was my 3rd book by her and each one has evoked so much emotion. I love feeling my books! For me…when an author can take me from my world, submerge me inside theirs and then rip the emotions from my soul; they’ve accomplished my required task from them!
*Do NOT read Forbidden Fate unless you have already read Stolen Soulmate.
Crowne Point
1. Heartless Hero
2. Stolen Soulmate
3. Forbidden Fate
**I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
This book! The second one in Grayson and Story’s book and it continues right off from Stolen Soulmate. That ending left me a wreck and this one starts off with my emotions all over, up and down throughout the entire book and I. Was. Completely. Addicted! I just could not get enough and had to keep going, needing more.
Well, she did it again. MCG repeatedly throws me on the emotional merry-go-round and pushes it as hard as she can. I no longer know which way is up or that the sky is purple. I spent half the book wanting to slap one character after another and the other half wishing I could give them a hug. Every time I thought I was on solid ground and could see where the story was going, she threw me back on the aptly named Mary-go-round. This book isn’t for the faint of heart, but if angst is your drug of choice, settle back and enjoy the ride.
