A thousand thanks to Booksparks for a gifted copy of Forbidden Fate by Mary Catherine Gebhard. On the heels of Stolen Soulmate, I dove into Forbidden Fate with gusto, determined to remain emotionless and intact no matter what transpired. What a fool believes, right? Let’s get real, though, because a pleasant story with rainbows and unicorns would have been a huge disappointment. If that’s what you are looking for, look elsewhere. Forbidden Fate is tragically beautiful, darkly divine and unequivocally awesome. Your favorite characters return for the continuation of one twisted story, and I think fans will love it!
This is the second part of Gray and Story’s tale it does end in a cliffhanger. This tool me on an emotional rollercoaster. A lot of times I was frustrated with the decisions these two kept making. There was some hot and steamy moments thrown in. There is so much drama, manipulation, secrets and love. The storyline free me in right from the start and couldn’t out it down. Looking forward to seeing the conclusion to their story.

Spoken In: Dual Perspectives – Grayson/Story
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Forbidden Fate is the third full novel in Mary Catherine Gebhards Crowne Point series and the second part to Grayson and Story’s journey. Stolen Soulmate MUST be read before you read this one.
Okay, I had to take a moment to process my thoughts after finishing this book and I’m still processing days later. I am DEAD! This book is angsty AF like one of the angstiest of all the angst books I’ve ever read. Did I say angst? Seriously my head is spinning.
Grayson and Story’s journey is definitely not freaking easy. I screamed, I cursed and nearly threw my kindle through the damn wall. I wanted to kill these two on multiple occasions as well as most of the other characters in this book.
I don’t want to give away too much so I’m going to keep this short. Just know that Mary completely wreaked me in the best way and if you haven’t started the Crowne point series yet I would highly recommend. But be warned – YOU ARE NOT READY FOR THE FEELS!
Also this would of been a 5 star for me but I took half off because Mary you know what you did >angry face< ARC kindly provided for an honest review.
THIS. FREAKING. BOOK!!!! I was one the edge of my seat from the first paragraph! Took me one day to finish! I am surprised that I had any nails left after reading it because I was biting them! I absolutely HATE Charlotte! I thought she was kind of nice and just stuck in a crappy situation during Stolen Soulmate…. but the things she does in this book are beyond unforgivable to me. And Gray feels so guilty that he doesn’t even blame her. These families are the most horrific kind of messed up! My head is still reeling from the things that were brought to light in this book….. it has totally wrecked me…. there are so many things that I keep have running through my head…. I am not over and I have no idea when I will be over it. I am coming to love this author’s writing…. I think I need to read more of her books….so far this is the 3rd and each one I has just gotten better and better.
I’m screaming and pulling out my hair! I’m all for books that bring out all the emotions and making me crazy but I think this was a bit much. I loved the first two books in this series. Originally after finishing book two, we find out that Grayson and Story will be getting a duet, which I was totally excited for. You just knew after reading that book, that they have so much more. However, the direction this book went was a bit surprising. I felt there was so much back and forth and it was a bit repetitive after a while. I really felt like it was dragged out and lost some of the respect and love I felt for the characters. This was a very emotional book, with all the angst you could ever want and then some. I did find myself disgusted with Lottie on the lengths she went to and the way that progressed. I’m kind of at a loss for words. It’s not often that I lose the love I have for characters but this time I’m a little disappointed. I also can’t lie and say I’m all that happy with finding out that we are waiting for a third book for this couple. I’m not sure that I will be reading it. This book definitely puts you through he//. I Love this author and I’ve always loved it most when an author brings out a slew of emotions from the reader because for someone to make you feel this much it’s a job well done in my book. This time around it just doesn’t feel like I was truly able to enjoy it, I didn’t get that winning feeling. I do have a lot going on and while I may not read the last book for this couple I do look forward to more from this author. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
The 2nd in Story & Gray’s saga. Cliff-hanger. Definitely not a HEA (yet). I bawled through this book, it is so emotionally draining. Very twisted and unexpected.
Oh my goodness! I loved this series so much. Grayson and Story want to be together so badly but their fate could not let it happen. Grayson has to marry Lottie, its his duty but his love and fierce jealously and possessiveness can’t keep him away from Story. What they do to try to work around their situation is so dangerous. I really didn’t want this story to end! 10 stars from me!
UGHHH this book was everything so full of twist and turn and that ending I need more of this amazing couple can’t wait for the next book!!!!!!
Its amazing how far one author can take you when reading a story they made up in their mind. It is just unreal that someone can think up a world like Crowne Point and make so many people love it and believe in it. And thats exactly what happens to me everytime I read a book in this series. I not only believe in it but I am SO invested in these characters. Yea, there are people upset about the book not ending with this. And that is their right and their opinion. But I personally LOVE the fact that I get to immerse myself into this world yet AGAIN.
While reading the forbidden chemistry between Story and Gray, I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat. I was sweaty. I was antsy, anxious and kept putting my book down. I wanted to savour it as much as I could. Gray has really grown from the first book. I loved him even more than ever in this book. And Story, what an amazing character shw has become! I love when her vindictive side comes out. I cant say I will EVER find Lottie redeemable. She is horrible as is her brother. Even though I had to scold myself from time to time because when Gray would do something to hurt Story I just wanted her to hurt him back with West. Hahaha. Man, I cannot WAIT for the next book. Waiting on my hands and knees. More than 5 stars.
This series is so incredibly good and seems to get better with each book. It’s definitely in my Top 5 series reads of 2020. The tale of Gray and Story is a bit Shakespearean with a Romeo & Juliet vibe, including a love triangle of the Crowne, du Lac and Hale families. This book is a combination of fire and angst with enough suspense and mystery to make for a non-stop cover to cover reading sesh. If you only read one series this year, make it MCG’s Crowne Point series— you won’t regret it!
Holy Cow!! This book was SOOOOOO much! You have so many feels in this story that it will drive you insane.
This book is the continuation of Stolen Soulmate (Crowne Point #2). Once you start reading about these Crowne’s you CANNOT stop! They suck you in and pull you into every emotion, every touch, every tear, just everything with these books. They make you feel apart of their world and it’s all consuming.
There’s Conflict. Betrayal. Love. Love loss. There could also be some triggers for readers. For this book is very detailing and very open with everything that happens.
Mary Catherine Gebhard has done it again. You need this series! Go start and don’t stop!
Forbidden Fate picks right back up where Stolen Soulmate left us. And left us it did….with Grayson & Story. Those two…what am I going to do with those two?
MCG is a beast. A freaking writing machine beast. In fact, She’s the beauty AND the d*mn beast.
I wasn’t okay after reading Stolen, and yes, I’m still in no better shape after finishing FF. I’m at a loss for words. My heart is at a loss for beats. My mind is at a loss for thoughts. How I am even able to write this review is beyond me, but this author? MCG? I do KNOW, one hundred percent KNOW, that my spine is tingling from every word that was poured into this book.
This isn’t just a “story”. This is something that goes above and beyond; an atmospheric lighting shining down on the book world! Get ready. Ohhhh, yes. Get ready for the most desirable book of 2020!
It’s intoxicating. It’s the ultimate hangover. Who needs booze when you read MCG? Just read FF and you will be drunk on all of the words. It is Grayson & Story after all. A match made in heaven? Or hell?
Grayson and Story are complicated, but in the end, they’re exciting, intense, and magnetic.
FF is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Being lifted up high in the air, and then dropped all the way to the bottom. It’s so easy to descend from love to hate, hate to love with this read. The emotions are astronomical. They stick to you like glue.
I just can’t get enough of Gray & Story.
I’m pretty sure…psh, who am I kidding? I know for sure that they will forever be stitched into my heart. *tears*
5 unforgettable stars.
I don’t think there are enough words to articulate how good FF is/was! Our resident emotional terrorist is back! Prepare to have your heart ripped out, then stomped on and your soul torn to shreds. There is so much hurt and destruction between all the characters, along with the emotional turmoil. Oh, and let’s not forget all of the WTF moments!
It’s been days since I finished reading and I still haven’t processed it all, so I will just say this: Go in blind, grab a bottle of wine and I highly suggest you have your reading device insured Gray and Story are going to take you for a wild, unforgettable ride!
Forbidden Fate is the third book in Mary Catherine Gebhard’s Crowne Point series. I’ve read a lot of books by her and I love her as an author. Her other books in this series were both great and I can say this one is too. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who loves romamtic suspense.
Once again Mary has written a book that rips my heart out and makes my soul weep. I wasn’t okay after reading Stolen Soulmate and now I am even worse. This book is exceptional. The characters and storyline have a way of beautifully weaving their way into you that you are just unable to stop reading.
Gray and Story are our modern day Romeo and Juliet. The lovers who have everything thrown at them to keep them apart but try to break through the walls as hard as they can.
My thoughts are consumed with all things Gray and Story. I have experienced feelings I never knew I had and an unruly amount of tears. This book is gut wrenching but absolute perfection. I could not put it down and never wanted it to end. Prepare for a ride that will change you. It is ride packed with chaos, betrayal, love, revenge, secrets and lust.
5 phenomenal stars.
A rollercoaster of emotions!!!
Are you ready for this? I know I wasn’t, I thought I was, but, yeah no!!!
So many thought are going thru my head, so many feelings
And when I mean feelings, believe me there is lots of them.
The drama, the hurt, the betrayal, I was on the edge of my seat. I wanted to slap someone, anyone!!
Story and Grayson’s journey is gonna rip you apart. Seriously, this two are consumed with love and hate.
Grayson, has a piece of my heart, Story, I don’t know where to begin with you, I need some Xanax after this.
MCG delivered a story that is gonna have you guessing, is gonna twist your heart and at the same time give you all the feels. Twisted and emotional!’
I read an ARC and this is my honest opinion ****
Incredible intense romance
I discovered Mary Catherine Gebhard’s books in 2017 on the recommendation of another favorite author. She writes dark tough angsty emotional stories. Forbidden Fate is the continuation of Stolen Soulmate, well worth the time to read. I’m still in a book hangover.
Mary Catherine Gebhard has shattered my soul, like full on obliterated every inch of it with her words and my emotions have been all over the place ever since first diving into the chaotic world of Crowne Point. It’s one of those twisted book worlds that leaves you completely breathless as it finds its way deep into your veins, sending you into an emotional tailspin that will leave you in a state of unknown long after reaching the last page…or so you think.
Story Hale and Grayson “Gray” Crowne’s emotionally gut-wrenching journey continues in Forbidden Fate and you all better prepare yourself for a CRAZY rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns that will forever change you. Their love may be tragically flawed and forbidden, but I just couldn’t imagine their story any other way. These two will ruin one another in ways we never thought possible, but I know in my gut that they are without a doubt destined to have their happily ever after moment, even if it seems like it will NEVER happen.
The entire time I was inhaling all the words of this soul crushing tale my heart ached, an intense ache that left me feeling completely out of control. ACTUALLY rewind that little statement because WHAT THE F*CK am I saying, my heart didn’t just ache, it is barely hanging on by a thread at this point and I just don’t know if I will ever be the same again once Story and Gray’s story finally reaches it’s end. Since I don’t want to give too much away, I will just say that you better hold on tight to your soul because the author will attempt (and succeed) to steal it.
Mary Catherine Gebhard just know that I am eagerly anticipating your next release and I don’t know how I am supposed to wait, especially now…I just cannot FREAKING wait!

I didn’t think anything could crush me quite like Stolen Soulmate did but leave it to Mary to correct my assumption. This story is like a million tiny papercuts, each page turned is one more cut until you’ve completely bled out and you didn’t even realize it was happening. Her words will siphon everything from you and leave you with a sense that you will never, and I mean never be the same again.
’ . .
I don’t want to put much into this review, because it’s imperative that you go in completely blind. But this story takes place immediately after the end of book 1. You are thrust right into the reception between Gray and Lottie, and the aftermath of what had just previously transpired between Story and Gray.
.
Gray and Story’s love is all consuming, their journey is not easy to say the least. They must fight and claw to try and get through all the things that come their way. I physically hurt for them on a visceral level, their pain was my pain. From the very first page of this book your heart is going to constrict as if it’s in a vice and as you go through that vice is going to twist and tighten never letting up until you feel as if you can’t fully breathe.
.
So many times, throughout this book I had to stop take a breath and step away for a minute to gather myself. Mary writes with this intensity that has you on the edge and your emotions all over the place, you feel lost untethered and drifting, trying desperately to ground yourself.
.
Mary has the ability to render you utterly speechless with her words, this book is angst wrapped in emotional turmoil with a side of intensity. This is NOT an easy read; this book will pull every single emotion out of you leaving you spent. She has taken my heart and crushed it, leaving a hollow cavity where it used to be. But I would not have it any other way. This is without a doubt a TOP READ of 2020. The stories that hurt are the ones you never forget, and this story literally tore me to shreds. These characters and this world will live with me forever, Mary has claimed a piece of me, and I don’t want it back.
4.5 stars!!!
“What if it’s fate, Grayson? What if we’re not meant to be? We keep trying to beat it, but what if it’s fate?”
“If our fate is forbidden, then I’ll live as a fugitive.”
Forbidden Fate, one of my most anticipated reads, and I am NOT OKAY.
The love story of Story and Gray is one for the ages!!! They will forever be remembered by me as an EPIC love story. This book was filled will so much angst, twists, love, forbiddenness, questions, and tears. Tears from the characters and from me. I’m actually surprised I didn’t get a migraine from all the crying I did. It was like my tear ducts were a faucet that no one (ahem, Mary)didn’t turn off.
Mary is such an exceptional writer. She absolutely blows me away after every book of hers I read. I basically highlighted or bookmarked over half of the book.
Forbidden Fate is my FAVORITE book Mary has written and one of my FAVORITE reads of the year.
I am ready for more!!!
