After rescuing their daughter, Marie, from corporate-controlled Earth, Millicent and Ryker thought they were safe on their off-world paradise. They were wrong.Toton, once thought the weakest conglomerate, is now dominating ruined Earth with a sinister new technology. By harvesting minds for use in their supercomputers, they’re enslaving the best and brightest humans to further their agenda. … agenda. Millie and Ryker know that it’s just a matter of time before Toton realizes the biggest prize—Marie’s “gifted” mind—is merely a rocket ride away.
As the anticorporate Rebel Nation and rival companies alike scramble to thwart Toton’s inhuman machinations, society teeters on the brink. No longer safe, Millie and Ryker must sacrifice their hard-won freedom to return home and stand with the burgeoning revolution—outmanned, outgunned, and aided only by a most unexpected ally on the inside: Millie’s nemesis and estranged sister, Danissa.
But can a family’s love survive greed gone mad in a world that measures human life on a balance sheet?

I’m an avid Breene fan, and although I’m not a fan of Sci-Fi, I gave this series a try just because I love her writing style. Her wit and banter and powerful female characters are a large driving force for many of her readers and this series follows those same footsteps. Of all of her books, Millicent seems weaker than many of her heroines, but she still has a unique strength to her. She’s a force to be reckoned with, but just doesn’t have the same pizzazz as her other other characters. I don’t know WHY there is so much backlash for these series; especially for the “romance” aspect of these books. There is hardly any romance to them! There are plenty of innuendos mentioned, but no sex scenes. It’s almost boring in that aspect really. It’s also disappointing that the publisher won’t release the rights to the books so that she can finally complete the series. Very very disappointing. It’s surprising to me since there are over 1000 reviews on here. Despite the series being complete, this book does a good job tying up some loose ends and solving at least part of the mystery.
I truly loved the first book in this series and was rather eager to get into this one. Some time has passed since then, so this may have definitely hindered my reading experience. The one thing that truly stood out for me was that there was little to no romance in this one and that held me back from enjoying this.
I definitely considered book 1 to be a science fiction romance, but that’s just me, personally. The relationship between Millicent and Ryker is still stronger than ever especially with their kids in the mix. They had their little moments they shared here and there, but never enough to my liking.
As for the science-fiction side, it’s there 100%. I loved the constant action from beginning to end. As thrilling as it was, there was something that wasn’t pulling me in. The multiple POVs and overwhelming introductions of different characters had me confused at times. But I’m going to say that because it has been years since my last read in this series, I’m sure I have forgotten who they were.
As far as K.F. Breene books go, not quite my favorite, but still an enjoyable read.
Be prepared to jump off a cliff of adrenaline and imagination unlike any you have experienced before! Fate of Perfection by K.F. Breene is a wonderfully unique story that takes us into a world that is technologically advanced and where assets are produced to create the best possible outcome, intelligence, strength and mental stability designed specifically for their assigned jobs and importance. The higher the skills the better their programed life is and the longer they are allowed to live it. Creation is a power play and nothing more. There is no family, no support, no living… just programs, jobs and surviving.
“Let’s push evolution along” – Trent McAllister and pretty much the moto the world now lives by
K.F. Breene introduces you to this new world with small tidbits of information and slowly brings you in so as not to overwhelm the reader. Just follow along and the holes will be filled! You will be glad you stuck around for the journey!
There are two types of creation, lab or natural but these are not births. They are simply creations, items. The world is run by conglomerates that fight each other for power and an assets job is to insure that their conglomerate stays in power. It is no sort of real life, just a program that each creation is a part of.
Until one such natural creation turns those involved into a new sort of unit; reminiscent of days long gone and unremembered. The adventure, changes and story that unfold will keep you on edge and in a constant state of mixed emotions ranging from anger, fear, and frustration to adrenaline rushes that end with death. As with all her books K.F. includes a lot of witty banter, laughs and sexual tension.
This story is a thrill ride that you will not only want to be a part of but need to be a part of! Trust me, just read the book already!!!
A truly fabulous read!! It’s non stop action from start to finish. All the questions from book1 are answered & then some Hilariously gripping, at times grossly terrifying but always entertaining to the max!!
I truly hope K.F Breene explores this genre & many more in the future. I’m convinced she can write anything!!! I do wish people would allow her to express her muse as she sees fit & stop trying to pigeon hole her though, I think it’s so unfair

Fate of Devotion is the second book in the Finding Paradise series by K.F.Breene and doesn’t disappoint. We are thrown head first into all the action and chaos, adventure and complex world tha KF has created.
Ryker and Millicent are unstoppable when they want nothing more than to survive, to protect those they love, to save the world from the horror and destruction. Add in the children of varies gifts or talents and yo have one explosive and great story. I loved the connection and the humour and the banter of the characters that had me laughing out loud.
If you haven’t read KF ‘s books you need to start, Now!
