Cora Goode has woken up in a fairytale world where she can understand what birds are saying to her, men ride horses and have fluffy feathers in their hats and furniture zigs, zags and whirls in miracles of construction.
The problem is, she thinks she’s in a dream but she’s actually taken the place of the parallel universe Cora and without realizing it, our Cora does something that starts a … starts a centuries old curse that will sweep the land if she gets captured by the evil Minerva.
At this point, her dream world becomes a nightmare.
Luckily, hot guy, fantasyland Noctorno is there to save her from the clutches of the grotesque vickrants sent by Minerva to capture her. Unfortunately, hot guy, fantasyland Noctorno doesn’t like the Cora of his world all that much (to say the least) and he thinks our Cora is her. And no matter what our Cora says or does to try to convince him, he won’t be convinced.
But Cora needs Tor to keep her safe and guide her through this fantastical world as she hopes one day to wake up in her not-so-great apartment in her not-so-great life in her world. The problem is, the more time she spends with the gorgeous warrior Tor, the faster she falls in love with him.

Another fantastic book in the series!
Tor and Cora……a prince and an administrative assistant!!!
If you love this series then you cannot miss this book.
About 30% in I was liking this book but only as a way to pass the time. Then, the whammy happened, and I was completely and utterly sucked in and devoured it! It was a little slow for me, getting things set up and catching up with what was going on. I wasn’t confused, I just wasn’t invested. I felt like our heroine Cora, trying to figure out what was going on. Then the characters clicked with me, completely, and once the characters clicked, the story clicked, and I loved it. Now, I have a whole series to get caught up on and I cannot wait!
So Fantastical is the third book in the Fantasyland series by Kristen Ashley and I swear, each one just gets better and better!
Waking up in a strange place? Takes some getting used to! Finding out your other you is not a very nice person? Difficult to adjust to! And yet, Cora tackles it all, knowing she’s just got to get the job done. Cora is sweet, charming, kind, friendly, bubbly, and I adored her and her attitude, being feisty and fierce at times but generally just being a delight even as she tried to navigate unusual circumstances and her apparent husband.
And speaking of husbands, Tor is a DISH! A warrior, fierce, commanding, direct, severe at times, yet he cannot help but be fascinated by this woman so different from what he remembers. This Cora, he finds endearing, finds witty, loves to argue with, to have banter with, if only he could reconcile what was happening in his life, in their life.
Drama, intrigue, tension, scheming witches, true love, soulmates, and so much more. What more could you ask for? You need to dive into this series STAT!
This series has me hooked!
I’ve read all these books one after another and loved them all. I loved the animals Salem and Aggie.
I loved this couple so much. I liked that things happened in our world. I had two things I didn’t like. First was the sisters events happened off scene somewhere. That sucked. Second to have a bad woman that’s talked about but never seen. I’ve never had that happen.
I really enjoyed reading this series. It was thought provoking and original work. Sometimes brutal but always intriguing.
Another fantastic book in the Fantasy Land series. Loved Cora. Poor girl having to deal with all the ugly fall-out of an evil twin. Didn’t like Tor much to begin with but who could blame him once you got to know why. I quickly changed my mind only to change it back when his deception is revealed. Luckily he redeems himself in a BIG way. I have to say I am now hooked on the song Crash Into Me by the David Matthews Band. I liked Noc as well, he was very sweet at moments. I really enjoyed that I got a small peek at past characters. It was a great bonus.
Highly recommended series
Tor and Cora
Fantastical Third book in the Fantasyland Series
Different from the Golden Dynasty, when I started reading Fantastical, I didn’t expect that it has Disney feel in it.
“This place is magnificent. Totally out of a movie. The colors are so… I don’t know… colorful. The trees seem to have ten times as many leaves. The stone seems like it’s almost glossy. It’s bizarre but so stinking cool. I wish I had a camera and I could take pictures. No one at home would believe this.”
Though we have a crazy princess here and a bad-ass prince, you gotta admit that their story was really Fantastical. There was a scene here that truly broke my heart.
Each of the stories in the series are unique. We got a mix of both worlds here and we also get to meet their twins ..
Another amazing story from Queen KA
Favorite lines from the book:
“In this world,” I kept whispering, “you were the only thing I had but you were the only thing I needed.”
“Only you could put color in a colorless world.”
5 stars
This book is most definitely my favorite of the series so far. Tor is going into my top BBF’s of 2018. Yes, I know he was written earlier than the current year but that is when I read him.
I’m typical fashion, this author continues to weave this amazing world in such a way that it astonished me. I can only imagine this is what people felt like when they saw Technicolor the very first time.
This story had a more fairytale feel to it than the others. I kept getting little images of Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty in how certain things were described. I loved Cora in this book. She was a fictional People’s Princess. I really liked the concept of sharing a soul and the curse.
I really appreciate the author tying in the other characters and bringing them all together. It raised a lot of questions that I hope will be answered in the next book.
Hands down one of the best I have read this year and this entire series is going into the all-time favorites vault.
This book was sort of disappointing comparing it to the others in the series. The romance felt forced and dull. The head character Coras personality was unrealistic. Sure, I feel that the personalities and dialogues in all of Kristen’s books are kind of childish (with lack of better words), but this book was the absolute worst in that department. She paints the female head characters as over stereotyped, popular cheerleader teenagers you see on tv. For example, the dialogues containes words like awesome, way cool, yawsa and hawt. People in their thirties don’t speak that way. No, scratch that. People don’t speak that way at all no matter age! Also the fact that Cora was written as a saint that read to the blind and hugged everyone in the 100 meter radius just made my my eyes roll. What an unrealistic and annoying character. You can do better than that Kristen Ashley!
Forcing my way through the entire book I could kind of feel that the author herself didn’t have much hopes for the book. There were very little drama and excitement. No twist and no spark. It feels like she only wrote the book as a way to introduce the next book in the series, kind of like a stepladder. Honestly, I think she could have skipped writing this book entirely and just gone ahead with writing broken dove. Cora and Noctorno gave very little to the entire story of the series
Audiobook edit: Such a fun listen! I forgot how much I had enjoyed Tor and Cora. Freaking awesome!
Can I just say…. I love Kristen Ashley! She is my guilty pleasure. Though, I should probably say, all of my romance reads are my guilty pleasure. While this one isn’t the best of this series, it is still pretty awesome. Tor finally got to me, though I will say, Cora should have made him suffer more for his rough treatment of her at first. Still one great read!
Tor and Cora and the whole soulmate situation drew me in and won me over! Considering I get terribly car sick (I did take medicine, but it only dulled the nausea), I couldn’t close the book because I had to know what would happen next! Thank goodness for ebooks and backlighting too…
