Micro-meditations and celebratory reflections on actively living as a wild woman. Everyday Enchantments is a love letter to the magic of everyday life, the sweet moments and the profound that we often overlook in our hurry to get from one place to the next. This collection of essays reminds us to escape into the ordinary, find beauty in a simple cup of tea or rereading a beloved novel, and … and joyfully let our world turn upside down when synchronicity strikes in the form of wrong turns down forgotten lanes and unexpected midnight conversations with the moon. Everyday Enchantments is a study in what it means to live deliciously, joyfully, and magically. And it’s an invitation to conjure your own bliss, because, let’s face it, we could all use a little more magic in our lives. ‘An insightful collection of short writings that make you look at the everyday in a whole new light.’ Erin Elliot, The Sword of Lumina

This is my first book by this author and i thought it was a very interesting read. I don’t think i have read anything like this book and i found myself thinking multiple times that i needed to be friends with this person ASAP. So many topics were covered in this book but one common occurrence was the thought that magic is everywhere and in everything. This book was a refreshing cleanse to the normal stuff i read and i am looking forward to reading more books by this author. I would recommend this to a friend!
Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings is the first I have ready by Maria DeBlassie. It is a collection of essays with varying topics, but all with the same underlying theme. They remind us to enjoy the little things in life, savor the moments, conversations, memories, etc. They read like blog entries, each able to be read individually. Her writing style is unlike any I have read before. She is very descriptive and deep at times, and the book brings out feelings that I didn’t think was possible. The stories are vivid, and you live them with her. Great collection and reminder to stop and smell the roses every once in a while. Don’t take life for granted.
Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic and Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie is a book designed to get you thinking in a different way.
This book is one that was written in a different style to that which I am used to reading and I found that refreshing. I loved that the book was almost in nice little bite sized chunks for you. For myself, running around after a one year old, it made it so much easier to read. I could pick it up and put it down easily, falling straight back into the authors rhythm every time I did. It really helps you to reflect on your everyday life and news ways of thinking about things.
This is honestly the type of book that I never thought I would read but I am so glad I did. Brilliant from start to finish I would highly recommend everyone give this book a go!
This read was different but no less needed. This was a maybe self help book I didn’t know i needed in life until I read it. This book had me escape from my own life and just let me be.
I can’t tell anyone the calming effect of this book or the way it just calms you. I wasn’t expecting this book but it made my extremely stressful life better
Everyday Enchantments is a unique read, that I never expected to enjoy as much as I did. Maria DeBlassie is a new author for me and I can’t wait to see what else she writes and how it compare to this book. It is easy flowing, easy read that really makes you stop and think, and really appreciate certain things. This really is an interesting relaxing laid back read, that has a different style of writing that is different from most books I read, so that took me a while to get used, but I quickly got so captivated with reading that ended up finishing it before I could really take notice again. It was a book that covered a lot of topics, topics that made you think and look at things differently.
It’s a fascinating read that I highly recommend. I will definitely be reading this over again, just to take in the read and give it the extra appreciation it deserves. Don’t miss this read!
Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria F. DeBlassie is a collection of short musings from the author. She embraces the everyday things in life and brings that to her readers. This is a book that can be read a chapter at a time or all at one time. I like the author mentions things that we might take for granted and bring enchantment to them. She also is relatable. I read this during my lunches during a stressful week at work. I went back after lunch with a renewed sense of spirit and was able to finish my work day in a better mood and able to look at the little things differently.
Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie. This book was AMAZING. I was not sure about it to be honest but let me tell you once I started I couldn’t put it down. It was simple yet so complicated all at the same time. Its a series of stories about finding the wonderful in the normal, everyday simple things. Making life magical when no one expects anything but the same ole, same ole. Its about slowing down and enjoying life and moments not things and taking into account all the wonderfulness, thankfulness, mindfulness and reflection in life. Letting life do its thing and enjoying the ride as you go. Read this book, you will be so glad you did!
I’m not sure I knew what I exactly I expected to find in these pages. What I do know is that I found this book from DeBlassie to be charming. This book’s delivery is different than most, being written in a way that I found myself appreciating the words and the intent behind them. The stream of consciousness found in these pages was easy to follow and appreciate but will find me rereading them to enjoy them again. Very well done. Something I will definitely recommend to others.
This is the perfect companion book for the person who loves to get lost in nature. Finding joy and peace can be difficult in this day and age but one of my favorite activities is sitting on my porch with a cup of coffee in the morning and just listening. The serenity I can find for a few moments in the silence of the early morning is exactly the kind of thing this book is about. You don’t need to participate in any particular religion or lack thereof to appreciate what Maria DeBlassie has put together. While her particular flavor is Southwest USA, anyone from anywhere can gain perspective or at least find instances to appreciate the magic in everyday life.
The only thing I dislike about this book is Maria’s view of the myth of Persephone. I know it’s a weird thing to pick out and it’s only like one sentence in the entire book but it is literally the only thing I didn’t enjoy.
Everyday Enchantments is a collection of essays that remind the reader how to experience connection to life in everyday moments. I love the way the author has woven the words in this book, definitely a lot of magic in there! A few of my favorite essays from the book are: On Synchronicity, On Dreaming Deeply, Descending into the Underworld, and A Conversation with Coyote. This would make a great daily devotional type of book. My first reading of this book was on the Kindle, but I am definitely going to get a hard copy!!!!!
Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria F DeBlassie is definitely an interesting read. I am not sure what I expected, but it was not what I thought it could be. It is a collection of thoughts and musings and the insightful view of the world by one woman. It seemed as if a thought popped into her head, then that would be the direction it took off in, and so on.
So lock away the hubby and kids, shut off the phone and find a quiet place for reflection upon the weird and wonderful musings of Maria. It is one read where you need devote the time, like a meditation almost, as it soothes and calms emotions.

Stars: 4
This book pays homage to the simple everyday things that we often take for granted. I loved Maria DeBlassie viewpoint on these things. The way she describes a very simple activity makes it seem so special and important. She did described each scene so well that I could totally imagine what she was talking about.

This novel is a short collection of essays that really make the reader see life in a different perspective. It helped me to see beauty in the average daily thing such as cutting an onion. I really found the authors work fascinating. I felt very relaxed and mellowed out while reading this book. It was great to really step back from life with this book.

This is a very unique book and a very refreshing author. This is my first time reading this author and I have to say that I found this book to be quite interesting. The whole concept of magic in everything is just so refreshing. I really found myself getting caught up in the creative world the author was creating. I found that it really made me look at life and see just how magical it really is.
There is just so much going on in this book that you really need to just get lost in it. The author brings so much creativeness to this book. You can easily get lost in the ramblings of this book. It was such a unique book and I am so glad that I was able to read it. This is like a trip down a road less traveled and everyone should read a book like this at least once if not again and again I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
EVERYDAY ENCHANTMENTS is like a book of poetry. It’s a collection of essays written by Maria DeBlassie about everyday things (as stated in the title). From Eggs to Hair to Reading and so much more, this book brought memories back of things I had forgotten and things I have yet to discover. Each essay is about 2 pages long so it’s the perfect book to read while sipping a cup of tea or when you have a few minutes between tasks. It is easy to put down after reading a few “chapters” and picking up again later.
Here are a few of my favorite:
Crocheting Infinite Blankets: “Your first was a monstrous purple affair…” (Does the author know me personally?)
On Mondays: “They are the ugly duckling of weekdays…”
I Live in Stories: “I live in stories because I am uncomfortable anywhere else.”
Reading Late into the Night: “You’ve lost track of time.” (Sheesh, stop looking in my windows…hehe)
Sometimes I thought I understood how the book was put together because they seemed to be in “categories” and then something off topic would be written and I realized that it is just a book to enjoy, not analyze.
I originally rated this with 4 stars but after writing this review and going back over my highlights, I’m changing it to a 5 star review because I enjoyed even more the second time around.
Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings By Maria F. DeBlassie. I think we could all benefit from enjoying life’s small things and that’s what I took away from this book. This isn’t my usual read but I’m really glad I took a chance because by the end I had a bit of a different look on life. This book is filled with thought provoking experience and I love the writing style. There’s many of lessons that could be learned from this book. There’s emotion written in that readers can feel. While this is a more thought provoking book it’s a very relaxing book to read. The perfect book for a Sunday afternoon, cozy chair and hot cocoa. I’m giving this wonderful book a five star review and highly recommend it to anyone no matter what your reading likes are.

4 out of 5 stars
I try to read or listen to a form of personal development every day. While Everyday Enchantments is not a self help or personal development book and she certainly doesn’t spend the span of the book telling you how you should live, I was drawn to it because it was written to show the joy of the seemingly small things in life and centered on mindfulness. The book is comprised of essays so you can take your time indulging in the writing of you so choose.
Maria F. Deblassie’s writing style is captivating and each story almost has a calming effect. She does a great way of making you reflect upon your life and how you approach it. There is magic in the day to day but you have to choose to see it. I would give Everyday Enchantments four stars and I look forward to rereading it from time to time as well as more to come from Maria F. Deblassie.
Maria F DeBlassie’s Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings is a different spin on a book that has you step back, picture your life, how you are interacting, and finding yourself. This book inviting a relaxing read and reflections made by the author. In no way is this a directional book on how to take your life, but it was a fresh breath of air that makes you want to shift how you may view particular things as they impact your life. I found that this author did a fine job in portraying their thoughts and beliefs in a way that comes across as inspiring, possibly spiritual in certain ways, but overall finding wellness within.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria F. DeBlassie is a beautiful group of essays that make you want to savor every passage. This book took me a couple of days but it made me think. This is the first book I have read by this author and I look forward to reading more by her. Each essay is a musing of everyday ordinary events and the magic you find when you take the time to look. It made me want to take things in my busy life and slow down and enjoy the little things. I highly recommend this book and will definitely be re-reading it in the future.
Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria F DeBlassie was a different interesting read, that was very soothing, and at times almost had me asleep.. in a good way.
This isn’t your normal style book. It’s a collection of sorts, with no real direction. Just soothing emotions, calming situations and a insightful look into the world around us. It did take a bit to get use to the style of this journal like writing, but once I found my stride I was pulled into each new enchantment and let myself see the way the author does, and it was a bit of a wonder. A little weird, but a wonder.
Having the room quiet, and reading such words, I was in such a relaxed stated that my eyes felt heavy. I’m sure if I had any light music or a warm blanket I would have dozed off. I know, falling asleep while reading. But I have to tell you, this was a good thing, because this book puts you in that state of mind. In saying that, if you need a good bedtime read, this book will get you to a place where your mind is calm and relaxed.
I think this might be a re-read book, when my mind won’t shut down, and for that I thank the author for putting such words on paper.
With that said I give this book my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.
Happy Reading
