4.5 stars. I enjoyed this book, it was warm and fuzzy. The billionaire playboy exposed by the new writer for his magazine. He jumps on her slip of the tongue about an engagement to propose a fake engagement wherein he proceeds to woo her. They fall in love and she runs away, he chases her, catches her and they have a HEA.

Great book! Love all of L. A. Pepper’s work! This book took a writer, Chloe and pitted her against Nick, a jet setting billionaire who has a long reputation with the ladies and Chloe called him out on his last very young lady in an article she wrote about him. Now she is working at his magazine and he is attracted to her rather than being angry.
Great angst between them and it takes a bold move for them to admit their live for one another.

This was a great story. It was beautifully written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I cannot wait for what this author writes next.
Chloe writes an article (expose) that caused a lot of grief for Nick Meryton, the owner of Wordly magazine that brings her a new job at the magazine. She’s talking to her supervisor and says some not very nice things about the owner while he is listening in. Immediate sparks fly between the two and war is declared. After a mishap in an elevator when Chloe discovers there’s more to Nick than she thought, their relationship begins to change and when Nick snatches her from his brother by claiming she’s his fiancee, she goes along. Very likable characters that are both more than they seem. Fast paced story with a great romance. An easy read and well plotted story. I read it in one sitting. Looking forward to more by this author.
Her hot dilettante
This book is about Chloe and Nicholas. She works in publishing at a magazine called ‘Worldly’. And despite the focus on international travel, leisure and luxury, Chloe implores to her boss Rachel the importance and necessity of a regular section on ‘home’ travel. While she may not be the actual boss of the magazine, Chloe thinks that Rachel is the brains behind the operation, as their real boss Nicholas (Nick) traipses around the world like a celebrity.
As she was discussing this with Rachel, Chloe heard another voice come into the room. The sensual man that followed that almost took her breath away. She had written all about him, researched him, and examined his life, but it was the first time she had met him in person, and she was overwhelmed. It was Nicholas, the founder and editor-in-chief of the Worldly Magazine. Oops! They immediately engaged in a back-and-forth argument, which reminded me of two lovers quarrelling over something silly.
This continued through to the end of their story, with lots of drama, emotions, misunderstandings and passion along the way. And the way Nick described the colour of her eyes… swoon! I was however a little disappointed with how it ended, but I think it was because I enjoyed the characters so much, and I wasn’t ready for their story to end. I give this one four and a half worldly stars.

Chloe is working at her dream job for Worldly Magazine. Nick, the billionaire owner of the magazine has been out of the country researching new locations to write about. When he comes back, Chloe is in the process of talking about Nick to Rachel, the woman who hired her. When Chloe meets the eyes of Nick, they take her breath away. This is a fun story with plenty of romance and some steam. Highly recommended.
An entertaining and lighthearted read
I really enjoyed reading Enemy Fiance Billionaire. This is the story of Nicholas Meryton and Chloe Beckett. He owns the magazine that she is a writer for and let’s just say that sparks and tongues go flying between these two when they meet. This story had me laughing, cringing, mad, and needing a fan at times. Once again L.A. Pepper has given readers a very entertaining read.
Traveling to the Exotic and Magical World of Love
Worldly Magazine, the publication of Nicholas Meryton, the 30-year-old amber-eyed, dark-haired handsome publisher, was based in NYC and had as its mission to explore the most exotic and esoteric destinations around the world. And, as its publisher, Nick made it his goal to personally investigate and experience as many of those locations promoted in his magazine as possible. He had learned that traveling the world was a method of never having to acknowledge his own absence of “home.”
During boss Nick’s most recent travels, Worldly Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Rachel Rothenberg, had successfully poached a new writer, Chloe Beckett, from her former job as a reporter with a celebrity gossip rag to join the staff of Worldly Magazine with promises that the new hire might someday have the opportunity to reveal domestic locations just as romantic, beautiful, and inspiring as those exotic sites that were often the primary focus of Worldly. What had caught Rachel’s attention was Chloe’s brilliantly written exposé of Nick Meryton, the globe-trotting playboy who had recently engaged in a scandalous liaison with a 19-year-old model and whom she had called a “pretty boy” in the article. But, as a new hire at his magazine, she would soon be calling him boss.
So, when Nick learns that the Chloe Beckett, the crafty reporter whose cleverly researched article had made him an international joke was the newest member of his staff, he also realized that not only could he extract revenge for his embarrassment, he could also redeem his reputation as a playboy.
And Nick began his campaign to redeem his reputation with the assistance of Chloe late one night when they both worked late. When Nick raced to grab the closing elevator doors, Chloe began to aggressively push the down button. But, as Nick slipped in, they began their decent, until the elevator shuttered to an abrupt halt. And, to Nick’s surprise, Chloe begins to hyperventilate, overwhelmed by panic in the small enclosed space of the stopped elevator.
Amazingly, Nick—playboy, world traveler and boss—proves to be kind and considerate during her panic attack, comforting her, talking quietly and rubbing her back, and encouraging her to breath with him. As Nick comforted the beauty with “Aegean blue eyes” and “chocolate tresses”, something began to touch his mind and his heart that he had rarely—if ever—experienced.
And, as Nick begins to view Chloe differently, he suggests a path forward that would benefit both co-workers, especially after they both attend the same party where Nick witnesses his older brother David attempting to move in on Chloe. Nick swoops in, claiming Chloe as his “fiancé.” And, when alone with Chloe, he negotiates a mutually beneficial arrangement—for Nick and Chloe to be allied in a personal and economic partnership in order to further the needs of both—quite like an engagement. And Chloe agrees—and the arraignment works publicly, until for Chloe, the emotion of love that is supposed to be an act, becomes her reality.
LA Pepper continues her powerful and engaging storytelling with the story of bright, engaging individuals seeking the one person who completes them, as each supports the other to become a better individual. The author weaves a passionate and sensuous tale of love and discovery that is filled with the unexpected twists, turns and tunnels of life. And, while Nick and Chloe experience challenges not always of their own making, they face them with love and determination, with only a few bumps and scrapes along their way to happiness and wholeness. This romance is a reading adventure well worth the reader’s attention.

I’m obsessed with enemies to lovers books and this one is an excellent romance. The characters are amazing and the fact that they’re always bickering made me laugh a lot. Their chemistry is also amazing and the author really knows how to describe the scenarios and make me feel there. There’s everything in this romance. It’s an excellent reading!

This was a great office romance. Nick and Chloe’s chemistry was off the charts hot and I enjoyed the banter between them. The story was well-written with an entertaining storyline that had drama, emotions, passion/lust, steam and love. Highly recommended!
Nothing’s better then a snarky boss who wants to prove he’s always right and really just needs someone to show him the way to his own true happiness.
Chloe although a new employee sure knows allot about her boss Nick and she’d sure like tell where to stick his ideas, well and now that I mentioned it she does quite allot of telling him.
But is that all she wants to say, is the spoiled, arrogant rich guy all she sees??
Nick on the other hand well he’s got allot of thoughts on Chloe. Allot of them are not very nice many are not appropriate office thoughts and why can’t he stop.
She infuriates him and interest him both to distraction.
But when there’s a little trouble and Chloe seems to be at the center will Nick be able to admit his feelings or only try to keep Chloe from his brother?
Can’t wait for you to read this!
I loved the chemistry between Nick and Chloe. Their back and forth only fueled it. The plot was well written. (Super glad there wasn’t a surprise baby element). My only issue was Chloe running from her feelings, and Nick downplaying his. Thankfully, Rachel was there to mediate between them.

I really enjoyed this book even though it was a short and quick read. I wanted to spend more time reading about Chloe and Nick. I loved how sassy Chloe was and loved the first time she met him, it was obvious that there was going to be sparks flying between them. The elevator scene when they were forced to spend time together was awesome. I highly recommend this book!

Chloe Beckett is a country girl who dreamed of getting out of her small town of population of six hundred. She wanted to travel the world. She got a scholarship to Princeton university and from there a job with a gossip rag. She did an in depth expose piece on the life of Nicholas Meryton founder and editor-in-chief of Worldly Magazine. Nick is a thirty year old billionaire pretty boy and was considered as a player. He’s never at the company for too long because he spends his time galavanting all over the world with a different woman. Chloe piece highlighted the fact that he was dating an underage woman which put him on the radar of women looking for something after that article. It caught the eye of Rachel Rothenberg who was Nick’s right hand. She hired Chloe as featured article writer. Because Chloe was so honest, brilliant, she doesn’t play games, full of ideas Rachel saw her as her new protege.
Chloe was discussing an idea for a section of the magazine with Rachel telling her that she’s boss when Rachel told her that the boss just grace the covers of gossip rags. Chloe responded by saying he’s only a pretty face with an empty head all the while Nick was listening to their conversation. Nick and Chloe first face to face encounter was very combative and confrontational. When at the same time the two had an instant attraction. They hide their feelings for each other with their constant quarrel. Things change between Nick and Chloe on the night that the two got stuck in an elevator for a hour between floors. He helped her out through really rough time when her panic attack hit and she blacked out. Nick cool her down because she was burning up and he talked to her to distract. Although that didn’t work because the two was about to take it to second base when the custodian interrupted over the intercom.
For the next three weeks Chloe could not get Nick out of her mind but he ghosted her after the night in the elevator. However, Nick is feeling the same as Chloe he can’t stop thinking about her and he knows he should have went to her. But he also knows that she’s his employee and no matter how bad he wants he it is wrong. Rachel knows that Chloe works too hard and doesn’t have a a life so she tricked her into going to the company gala. Chloe wanted to get over Nick so when this guy David asked her to dance she said yes not knowing that it was Nick’s brother. Nick saw David with Chloe and stake his claim. But Chloe was mad at him and playing a game with him the next thing she knew she was his fiancee. The two entered into an arrangement to fake engaged. However, Chloe fell in love with Nick an ran away. The was a really really good story it was fill with emotions, love, swoon worthy, and heat. It had wonderful characters, well written, easy to read, a standalone, and great plot.

It has been a long time since I have read an office romance. L.A. Pepper, always writes a complete story.
Chloe is hired by Worldly Magazine, as a Publisher. Chloe is passionate about Domestic Travel, and believes that it is an important part of a traveling magazine. Let us back up, Chloe was noticed for this position because she wrote an honest article, about the “Playboy” boss of Worldly Magazine, Nick Meryton. Resuming pace… Chloe was in her new bosses office, Rachael, gossiping about Nick. He overhears this conversation, and confronts Chloe. Readers would think that Chloe appologized, but instead she gets into a screaming match with Nick.
For the next few weeks Nick and Chloe, bicker, and push each other’s buttons. After work one night, Nick and Chloe leave, everyone else has left, and they get stuck in the elevator together……. Sparks fly, and soon arrangements are being made.
Readers: If office romance is your thing, you will love the world Pepper creates for you. It’s provocative meets small town, innocent meets City. Nick and Chloe are a writer’s dream. I recommend this book.

A Frustrating Man
I seem to have a thing for frustrating men because Nick fit that bill perfectly and I enjoyed it. Chloe ends up in over her head a couple of times when Nick is around and it leads to some very interesting moments, to say the least. I liked when she was all fire at him and his absurdities. Who he was in her professional life never stopped her from laying it all on the line. It creates the kind of fireworks and banter that I love in a book. It’s an easy read with fun chemistry and a bit of heat to keep the winter chill away.
There’s a reason why “Enemy to Lovers”, “Fake Fiancé” and “Office Romance” are found so often: when they’re done well they’re deliciously wonderful. L.A. Pepper Is the master at writing just these sort of stories and that mastery is shine in Enemy Fiance Billionaire where all three tropes are combined into one fine story. I loved Nick, a glorious alpha which is actually a layered complex guy, and perfect for Chloe, the heroine of this story. Totally fun and easy to recommend.
A well-written enemies to lovers romance with characters that have undeniable attraction. They end up stuck in an elevator and things blossom from there.
Chloe is a new writer at Worldly Magazine. She’s in a meeting with her boss, when her boss walks in. She has seen pictures of him and even wrote an article on him, but has never met him, until now. He is not what she expected. She can’t stand him.
Nick owns and runs Worldly Magazine. He’s back from Kuala Lumpur and walks in on a meeting. He doesn’t recognize the women seated with Rachel, but knows exactly who she is when their introduced. She ruined his love life. He can’t believe she works for him now.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Chloe and Nick have issues at first. Things heat up when left alone together in a broken elevator. As things go along a lot happens and it leads Nick to tell everyone him and Chloe are engaged at a Gala. How will Chloe Deal with that? Will others accept these two together? Short sweet drama story.
