BOOK ONE IN THE E SERIES
Life is harsh. It makes no exceptions. Not even for the innocent.
Outpost Three: a huddle of crumbling buildings choked by a concrete wall. Cracked pavement, rusted metal, splintering boards. Huge robotic Sentries police the streets, but the Ten Laws are broken every time one turns its back.
Eden is determined, smart, and a born survivor. Stripped of her memories and … survivor. Stripped of her memories and dumped on the streets of the Outpost, slavers and starvation are only the beginning of her problems. A devastating conflict is coming that threatens to consume her world and tear her newfound family apart.

Of the dystopian novels read, this is among my favorites, to the point that I may even finish the series one day.
A tragic macabre tale of a future gone awry.
I won’t say that I understood what exactly was going on in this book, but I got caught up in the story. Survival, family of choice and love are things we all understand.
Unusual book that pulls you in wanting to know how it will end.
This is one of the best stories I’ve read in awhile. I can’t wait to read the rest! It was so well written that I was hungry while the characters starved and despondent when their hope was lost. Brilliant!
Had difficulty understanding the story line. Didn’t finish reading it
Good book
good read
slow and extremely repetitive
It’s a wonderful and original story at first, but the story takes a long time to reach the climax. You also need to read the rest of the books in the series since the story is incomplete after this book.
A real downer.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Even though I am 71 years old I loved this book series. Once I started on book one I just had to go on right away to book 2 to see what the characters were going to do. I liked her writing because it was always one adventure after another and characters that you either loved or hated. Would definitely recommend to my fellow si-fy readers.
The book started out slow and I wasn’t sure I’d like it but now I cannot wait to read the next one.
This is definitely not a feel good book. I don’t mind books about struggle, but in this book, the struggle never gets better it just gets worse. It was a challenge to finish it. To think there are more books in this series…well, I won’t be reading any more of them. For its good points, the book is well written and the characters are well developed.
Too depressing, unrelenting suffering
A little confusing at the start, must have been book 2, or so seems to have started halfway thru story. I have to say, it was one tragic and sad story, hope things never get this dire for the human race. It was unpredictable and twisted. Good read if you like this sort of story.
An ok read. I kept waiting for it to catch and go forward but it never really quite got there. Not a complete waste of time.
This was an interesting original apocalyptic Syfy type novel. It had interesting characters and a female heroine. I couldn’t put it down in my interest to find out the end result. It was pretty graphic and not for the squeamish or sensitive.
I enjoyed reading a syfy book that had an original plot. Not just aliens or zombies but realistic people dealing with unbelievably harsh circumstances. Good Read.
