Bullet Whiskey is an enigma. At first, he appears to be a big, tattooed, tough biker dude with a dark, moody personality. Through his actions, it’s obvious that he cares for his family and friends deeply. A Special Forces veteran, Bullet has experienced life and death first hand and he has kept these dark experiences to himself. He struggles with PTSD flashbacks, guilt and believes he is weak. Melissa Foster creates the perfect back story for Bullet and it drew me into the novel. Bullet’s demeanor shouts out—stay away from me…until he meets Finlay Wilson. The perfectly paced opposites attract romance between the couple captivated me.
I really liked Finlay. After her father’s death, she has returned home to start a catering business. Finlay is hired by the Whiskey’s to renovate their kitchen and revamp their bar menu. Finlay is a breath of fresh air at Whiskey’s—she quickly wins everyone over with her smile, cookies and appetizers. She has an open heart and cares for people. And I loved how she fought her attraction to Bullet and that she was afraid of his big dog, his motorcycle and didn’t really understand his connection to the Dark Nights club. Bullet’s patience is tested throughout this story— as he copes with Finlay’s fears and ultimately his own.
Loved the author’s use of imagery and color throughout the novel. Bullet is dark and angry while Finlay dresses in pink, frilly dresses and exudes happiness. Finlay is drawn to Bullet’s tattooed body but at first the animals, words and darkness conveyed by the images scare her. As Finlay and Bullet’s relationship develops she figures out that Bullet’s tattoos tell his story. One of the most poignant scenes occurs towards the end of the novel when Finlay traces the names of Bullet’s fallen brothers on his chest—it brought me to tears.
Bullet and Finlay have experienced tragic loss. Their passion enables them to understand each other on a much deeper level. Melissa Foster is known for her strong male characters. Bullet is a perfect example of a dark alpha male. With the character of Finlay, Ms. Foster is able to bring light, joy and happiness to the brooding Bullet. Finlay brings Bullet peace. The conclusion to this novel is fabulous—heartbreaking, funny and oh so romantic. The grand gesture at the end of the novel was a tear jerker!
Driving Whiskey Wild by Melissa Foster was a fun, dirty sexy emotional read. These Whiskey Brother may look like tough bikers but they have hearts of gold.
Finley Wilson is a chef who first meets Bullet at a wedding she was catering and the first thing he said to her was “Hey sweetheart, whaddaya say I take you for a ride on the Bullet train?” Now she is asked to help with the kitchen renovations at Whiskey’s Bar and working alongside Bullet.
Bullet is big tattooed biker guy who always looks angry but that doesn’t stop Finley from putting him in his place. Bullet at first doesn’t want Finley around the bar because he thinks he needs to protect her, but he soon finds out that she can handle herself.
These two might be opposites but their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Finley is his light that makes him start letting go of the past and looking to the future. There are so many cute and enjoyable moments between this couple and friends/family.
Melissa’s books are always addicting and she knows how to pull at your heartstrings and how to get down and dirty. Highly recommend checking out this series and all of her other ones, you will not be sorry you did.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
This is the third book in The Whiskeys series and I think it might be my favorite so far. Bullet is the older brother of the Whiskey kids and he has always been the protector of the other siblings. But after years in the military, he has his own demons to deal with. He runs Whiskey Bro’s, the bar that has been in the family and part of the Dark Knights MC for years. Bullet only wants to keep his family, his club and the people of Peaceful Harbour safe. That puts a lot of pressure on a person.
Finlay decides to move back to her hometown after losing her boyfriend and her father a few years ago, she wants to start her catering company in Peaceful Harbour, which will put her closer to her sister Penny. When Dixie, Bullet’s sister, asked Finlay to help with the bars renovation and menu, She is drawn to Bullet but he is so intimidating. Finlay can tell her is a protector and he seems to be trying to run her away from the bar.
Bullet doesn’t want Finlay around the hard bikers at the bar, she is too sweet and innocent. But when Finlay stands up to Bullet, it only goes to show him that she is not a delicate flower. He finds himself drawn to her. He wants to spend more time with her. But can he spend any time with Finlay without his PTSD getting in the way? Will Finlay be able to handle his past, his demons, and his pain?
I really loved Bullet and Finlay and felt their past and heartache. Even though Bullet had talked to his brother Bones and a therapist, he found it easy to talk to Finlay about his past and demons. And she was able to share her past with him too. This story can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the others in the series first, you don’t want to miss a thing.

I absolutely loved this book! This is not a trope that I’m into. Bikers, tattoos not my thing at all. I love the seaside summers, love in bloom Remingtons,Ryders, bradens series so I thought I’d give it a go after reading the blurb and finding it interesting…… I’m so glad I did! I’m in love with all the whiskey’s. I can’t wait to read bones book now …. I’m addicted
Bullet Whiskey doesn’t stand a chance when it come to Finlay. He’s everyone’s protector and she is just a sweet, hard working girl who creeps into everyone’s heart, but together they are amazing and oh so good for each other.
Loved this well told story which is passionate and the characters who are all very endearing. Melissa Foster has done it again – her stories just keep getting better and better.
“You always say I was born with fire in my eyes.” “And you were. The fire you were born with made you the man you are.” She glanced at Finlay, and then his mother’s green eyes found him again. “But this fire will make you the man you’re supposed to be.”
If you’re a follower of my reviews, you’ll know that I LOVE MC romances. I have read so many MC series, and I have loved nearly all of them. This was no different. Now, I am new to this series, and this is not the first book in the series – this was intimidating at first, but I wasn’t confused at all. Although, now I want to catch up!
Bullet … oh, my. He is every part of that obnoxiously over-confident guy who just knows he can get aaaaalllll the ladies. When he tries to pick up Finlay at a wedding, she promptly shoots him down, knowing she doesn’t want to be just another passenger on the “bullet train.” Unfortunately for the both of them, life isn’t quite down with throwing them together, yet.
Finlay is awesome. She’s hardworking, a little naive, but so loving. Trying to expand her business, she ends up working with the bar run by … you guessed it, Bullet and his family. When she is thrust into a bit of a new world, as well as working in the vicinity of Bullet daily, the two of them begin to see there’s so more there than they anticipated.
What I loved about this story was that they didn’t just fall. Finlay & Bullet both had reservations, at first, and neither of them made it easy. As the story continued, I found that each of these characters was so much deeper than they initially appeared – Finlay had a strength and independence I greatly admired, while Bullet … oh, that man broke my heart in all the good ways.
I loved this story, truly. I can’t wait to catch myself back up with these characters.
This is a good book. I found it to be hot, dirty, and funny! Yes funny. The banter between these characters is entertaining and some parts I found humorous. I am thinking I need to go read the previous books! I am told they can be read as standalones, but I would love to get more from Whiskey Bro’s.
I loved that these characters are so different but are basically what each other needs and wants. Their chemistry is off the charts! This story is full of love, hurt, and second chances.
I enjoy getting the story in both characters POV. You get a little bit from both and it just weaves the story for you.
In the end do these character find happiness they so deserve? Read and find out but you won’t be dissapointed with this story.
“You’ll always be my sugar rush, but you’re so much more. You calm my ghosts enough for me to fall asleep and stay asleep, which I can’t remember ever doing”
Big, bad, scary, sexy Bullet has a heart of gold. Who’d have thought? I fell in love with Bullet. Seriously? Who wouldn’t? And Finlay is his perfect match. And we can’t help but love Bullet’s dog Tinkerbell too. I just love everything about this book.
Bullet “Bull” Whiskey has an interesting conversation with his sister about Finlay Wilson. Finlay gives the reader the first impression of Bullet – my screen started to let off some steam after that. Finlay is an experience and one I was happy to explore.
Be prepared to get a bellyache – you’re going to spend a lot of time laughing. There’s a sexual tension that will be hard to miss. Bullet has a slight corner on the bad boy ‘tude. But believe me when I say that Finlay does a great job in giving that ‘tude back at him.
I don’t know how our author did it, or if it’s because I’ve been listening to a lot of audiobooks, but I could hear every word being spoken by these two characters. It’s like I’m standing in the background watching their interactions play out. Ok I almost did it – I almost laughed out loud. You’ll love the scene too when you read it. But I had to press my thumb over my lips to hold it in. Think lunchroom with male co-worker and you would do the same. The only hint I’ll give you about the scene is it involves Finlay and a puppy. And don’t go searching for it because you have to read what leads up to it. And as you follow the whole scene expect to sing – again, male co-worker so I had to sing the song in my head.
I love that about this author and why this has to be one of my favorites to date. This is one book that it will be my pleasure to read over and over again. And if it comes out in audio then that will just double my pleasure. I know when you’re doing a review sometimes people get a little more critical and look for something to criticize or are disappointed in. Since I’m not an author or have a degree in humor, journalism, or English; I’ll leave that to the professionals.
So I guess that leaves me with disappointment. The only disappointment I have, ok maybe two, is that these people do not exist and I can’t go and spend some quality time with them. But in a way that’s not true because I can visit them any time I open this book. And I can always stroll around Boston and just pop into a pub – just have to hope they won’t mind me sitting there in a corner, or even at the bar, just reading. If this were a physical book, you can bet that you would see a lot of wear and tear from the many times that I’ve opened and enjoyed it.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
There’s not much more that I love in a book than a big, burly, gruff, heart-of-gold leading man. And Bullet Whiskey is all that and so much more! Bullet is a natural born protector–protecting his family, his business and his country have been his top priorities. Most especially protecting his family–even from the secrets he’s kept–and his heart. Until Finlay Wilson.
Finlay is making a fresh start and trying to find her own happiness. She’s started her own catering company, and the job helping the Whiskey Bros. expand their bar and business is just what she needs to help move forward with her big plans. Big plans that didn’t include Bullet Whiskey. But she;s willing to make an exception because men like Bullet don’t come into your life often, and she isn’t foolish enough to let him go without a fight.
But what happens when their pasts catch up with the present? Is what they’ve created enough of a promise for more to keep them together?
To say I loved Driving Whiskey Wild is a gross understatement. I adored both Bullet and Finlay. Adored how their polar opposite personalities and mannerisms and just about everything about them made their relationship that much sweeter to see develop. And let’s talk about how I was messaging fellow reader friends that I needed a cold shower after certain *ahem* scenes. Seriously hot and sexy AF. But their relationship was so much more than what happened between the sheets. I loved how they were so real with each other, how open and honest. It was refreshing and wonderful and just perfect. Swoon.
The Whiskey parents raised quite the blunt, caring, and upstanding brood. Just like Bear, Bullet is quite the responsible human being … and, like Bear, he’s taken on a little too much. Not only is he running the family bar, but he’s doing just about every heroic thing under the sun (while fighting the hero title with everything in him). Along with rest of the Dark Knights, he protects the town from any rough elements, does charity work when it is needed, and steps in whenever there’s trouble. It’s been fine when all he had in his life was his family and the town. But now a fiesty wonan has caught his eye and his life might just be headed for a change.
Finlay resists her attraction to Bullet a bit at first – they don’t seem like they’d have much in common and his pickup lines could REALLY use some work. But after they spend some time together, she realizes that there is more to him than she thought and their attraction may not be something to ignore. It’s pretty hard to ignore a built, stubborn, cocky (but uniquely charming) protector that shows his heart is just as big as his … shoes.
There’s really not a lot of drama here. Both Bullet and Finaly have a little contemplation they need to do at first as they decide whether getting involved is the right thing to do. Plus, Bullet has some residual PTSD that he needs to address, but overall Driving Whiskey Wild is one of those slow-burn romances. We’re there with them as they make their way from dancing around each other to a HEA ending. It’s sweet, sexy, and satisfying to read.

Book 3 in The Whiskeys Series and this is fast becoming one of my favourite reads, once again Melissa Foster has given us another book boyfriend to fall for this time it’s Special Forces veteran and Dark Knights Motorcycle Club member Bullet Whiskey.
Bullet lives to protect the bar, his family and the residents of Peaceful Harbour, he hides his secrets, his PTSD and his painful past well and he never lets anyone get to close to him …until he meets Finlay Wilson a beautiful sweet girl his sister hires to expand the biker bar, he try’s his best to get her to turn around and walk away but when she stays he finds himself falling for her. Finlay is everything Bullet has never wanted but he can’t walk away from the girl who’s afraid of motorcycles and his dog…..
This is a beautifully written love story, it’s Bullet and Finlay’s journey, it’s about him learning to trust and open up and it’s about her learning to put her fears behind her. Two opposites who compliment and complete each other, two people who bring out the best in each other and heal the wounds they both hide from the rest of the world. I love the family love and loyalty that is so prominent in this book and this series, I love the strong characters, and I love Melissa Foster’s writing she draws you in and you find yourself up all night because you need to take in every page and every chapter without missing a beat. Looking forward to next book in The Whiskeys .

Ruthie –
This is the third book in the series and is an excellent addition to it. I would certainly recommend that you read them in order, but it would read well as a standalone too. A great mix of super sweet and hard biker romance.
Bullet has spent his whole life taking responsibility for everything and everyone. It is exhausting, guilt inducing, and has completely taken over his life. So, he cannot believe that the delicate, beautiful Finlay should enter his dark world. She however has a very different view on their differences, and similarities. I love how their worlds collide and then meld. They are two really special people, who definitely deserve the happiness that the other unconsciously offers them.
It was no surprise to me that this is another fabulous book from Ms. Foster – she has such a way with giving us people who allow us into their lives and hearts. Anyone who has read any MC / biker book will have smiled at Finlay’s disregard of convention, and how Bullet gives her protection. Utterly delicious, and great fun.
Each of these books is very satisfying, and the series as a whole is on my reread list… but there are a few more to come before I give myself the pleasure of reading them all in sequence together.

As always with the Whiskeys, they’re an addicting, swoon-worthy family and reading about them is always an adventure. Tru Blue has been my favorite book in this series but this book is my next favorite – it’s a quick read that I couldn’t put down!
Bullet Whiskey’s life is all about protecting – be it his family, friends, or absolute strangers. If they’re in need, Bullet is there to help. Finlay Wilson is new to the town and just getting her catering business off the ground. Bullet and Finlay first met at a Whiskey wedding where Bullet propositioned Finlay. Now, Finlay is going to be working at the Whiskey bar, helping revamp things while Bullet fights tooth and nail to keep her away from the guys at the bar – and to get her to give a fling with him a chance.
Bullet was one of my favorite characters that I’ve read in a while – he’s sexy, rough around the edges, and has quick wit that had me cracking up. Finlay is his perfect balance and the author did such a fantastic job with their banter. I’m looking forward to more from The Whiskeys.
Reviewers on the Wicked Reads Review Team were provided a free copy of Driving Whiskey Wild (The Whiskeys #3) by Melissa Foster to read and review.
Holy lollipops! Driving Whiskey Wild is sweeter than any sugar with a story that kept me glued to the pages for hours. Melissa Foster has completely outdone herself with this one. I actually cried tears of pure happiness while reading because the love between Finlay and Bullet is just that beautiful. I don’t think I have ever read a more heartwarming love story than what’s between these two.
I fell hard for Bullet in this book. There are so many different layers to him, but they all reveal the same thing underneath, that he’s an incredible man with a heart of gold and a true hero no matter how much he may deny it. I have never read any other character who had so much love to give the way Bullet does. The unconditional love he has for his family, friends, and especially Finlay is beautiful to read. Being a fierce protector and off the charts sexiness are just small parts to the magnificence that is Bullet.
Finlay is the complete opposite of Bullet on the outside only. All delicate sweetness hiding the strength of a lion she couldn’t have been more perfectly matched to her man. The pure soul deep love between these two melted my heart constantly. I could have kept reading about them forever!
Driving Whiskey Wild is about exactly what the title says. Between his PTSD & sweet girly Finlay, Bullet Whiskey is going out of his mind. Finlay is going to help Dixie Whiskey remodel Whiskey Bro’s kitchen & bar menu. Bullet is attracted to her even though she’s not his type. Bullet is a rough & tough ex-military Alpha biker with tattoos. Finlay is a wholesome proper young lady that loves dresses & the color pink. They are nothing alike & strike sparks off each other. So why can’t they get each other off their minds?
When I started reading this, I thought there was no way this combination would work but once I got into it, holy cow! They are perfect for each other! Finlay may come across as little miss prim & proper but she can be just as dirty as the rest. She just doesn’t advertise it. Bullet is deeper than his rude & crude exterior suggests. They both feel deeply & are scarred from their pasts. The sex is hot, suggestive & steamy. Their families mean everything to them. I really can’t wait for the next book in this series!
This was such an amazing story! I loved Bullet and Finlay, and they were absolutely perfect for each other!
Bullet is the one that tries to protect everyone in his life, sometimes to the detriment of himself. He feels like he is responsible for keeping everyone safe. He’s a soldier that has come home, and is battling himself, trying to reclaim his life as well as live up to his own expectations. I love how he takes one look at Finlay, and just can’t help himself!
Finlay has tragedy in her past. It’s affected her, and is still affecting her. But she has moved home, started a catering business, and is trying jump start her life. She’s brave, and insightful, loyal and giving. She’s everything that Bullet needs, exactly what he didn’t know he was looking for.
This is an emotional read. It brings out the reality of what our soldiers are facing when they come home, and puts it in terms that the average American can really understand. It really brought home to me how much they are dealing with and how hard they are fighting themselves sometimes. I loved the first two books in the series, but I think this one was my favorite. Its a beautifully written story, with fantastic characters, amazing details, and lots of surprises! Definitely a book that I’d recommend to a friend, and one that I will probably reread!
4.5 Star Review of Driving Whiskey Wild (The Whiskeys #3) by Melissa Foster
The third book in the series and was just as strong and interesting as the previous books. Told with dual POV’s I really liked the main characters of (Brandon) Bullet and (Finlay) Fins.
This series is all about the Whiskey family and their close friends. It is a s story of love, hope and friendship, of family, not always related by blood and one which I thoroughly enjoyed.
It’s true when they say that opposites attract and such is the case with Bullet and Finlay. Both have been damaged by loss and yet through it all they are both determined to love and protect their family and friends. Finlay brought out the vulnerable and tender side of Bullet and some of the scenes were heartbreakingly beautiful to read.
Melissa Foster did a great job of covering a variety of issues including PTSD, grief, survivors guilt and more.Driving Whiskey Wild is a story that shows how time and love can heal and help a person to find happiness again.
As I have found with the other books in this series, the characters were well written, yet flawed, making them easy to relate to on numerous levels. I particularly enjoy the banter between the friends as Bullet and Finlay slowly explore their feelings as their relationship gains momentum.
Driving Whiskey Wild has a great deal of humour and romance that will bring a smile to your face. I cannot wait for more in this series and I believe up next is Uncle Boney’s story.
While Driving Whiskey Wild is the third book in The Whiskeys Series it can be read as a standalone which is exactly how I read it. Did I feel lost at all because I hadn’t read the previous books? Not at all. This is one of the things I like most about Melissa Fosters books, you can read any of them in any order and never feel lost, but honestly her books are so enjoyable you’ll want to read them all.
Bullet and Finlay have this opposites attract, bad boy / good girl, chemistry that was so hot I wondered if my kindle would melt. My heart broke for this tough, motorcycle club leather wearing, badass biker. He went through so much in his life always the protector of others even when it took the ultimate toll on him leaving him with a sever case of PTSD after being medically discharged from the military. Tinkerbell, Bullet’s rottweiler, seemed to be the only thing that helped him with his flashbacks, well that was until Finlay came into his life.
I love this cute little chef, Finlay was dedicated to starting up her own catering business but I’m pretty sure she didn’t expect the changes that would come to her life when she agrees to help Dixie with the expansion of Whiskeys Bro’s. I enjoyed watching Finlay overcome some of her fears with the guidance of Bullet, this big strong man had a tender heart and an even more tender hand when it came to Finlay, something neither of them were use to.
This was a sweet and sexy read that had me tearing up a few times so you may want to keep tissues handy just in case.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book**
4.5 stars– DRIVING WHISKEY WILD is the third instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult THE WHISKEYS erotic, romance series focusing on the Whiskey family of Peaceful Harbor. This is Special Forcers veteran and bartender Brandon ‘Bullet’ Whiskey, and caterer Finlay Wilson’s story line. The Whiskeys is a spin off from the author’s Bradens of Peaceful Harbor, but each installment can be read as a stand alone with any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines and series is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Bullet and Finlay) DRIVING WHISKEY WILD follows the building relationship between former Special Forces soldier Brandon ‘Bullet’ Whiskey, and caterer Finlay Wilson. Bullet Whiskey hasn’t stopped thinking about Finlay Wilson since the day they met at Tru and Gemma’s wedding where our hero propositioned the woman with whom he would fall in love by daring her to take a ride on the ‘Bullet Train’. When Bullet’s sister Dixie offers Finlay a chance to redesign the family owned Whiskey’s Bro’s Bar, Bullet has no idea the whirlwind that is about to land him on his a$$. Enter Finlay Wilson, professional caterer and chef, and the woman who has starred in all of his fantasies and dreams. What ensues is the building romance between Bullet and Finlay, and Bullet’ s battle with PTSD and guilt that threaten to destroy what little semblance of peace he has barely acquired.
Brandon ‘Bullet’ Whiskey suffers from PTSD and the guilt of loosing too many men while fighting overseas. Large, looming and ever-the-protector Bullet believes he is unworthy of a woman like Finlay Wilson-a woman who has burrowed so deeply she has become part of the man himself. The relationship between Finlay and Bullet is one of immediate attraction but an attraction that is tempered by Bullet’s need to protect and his inability to let go of the past. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Once again, we are reintroduced to Bullet’s extended and tight-knit family-a family that founded the Dark Knights MC, Whiskey Bro’s bar, and Whiskey Automotive: his brothers Bones (a physician by day and a biker by night), and biker/mechanic Bear and his wife Crystal (Truly, Madly, Whiskey 2); their long-suffering sister Dixie; Dixie, Bullet, Bear, and Bones’ parents Biggs and Wren (Red) Whiskey; Truman & Gemma (Tru Blue #1) and Truman’s brothers and sister, Quincy, Lincoln and Kennedy, and Crystal’s brother Jed Moon. We are introduced to Finlay’s best friend Isabel Ryder; and Sarah Beckley-a single mother who almost lost everything, if not for our story line hero, to a frightening motor vehicle accident. Bones and Sarah’s story line is next in Wicked Whiskey Love (November 2018).
DRIVING WHISKEY WILD is a story of family, friendship, romance, and love; of survival, moving forward, and letting go of the past. The premise is emotional, heart warming and captivating; the romance is provocative and intense; the characters are courageous, wondrous and inspiring. DRIVING WHISKEY WILD is a sensual and optimistic story; Melissa Foster’s THE WHISKEYS is a satisfying and delightful look a one family who deserve their happily ever afters.
I am fairly new to the works by this author and I have to say I am really liking her books.
This one centers around Bullet Whiskey and Finlay Wilson.
Bullet is an in your face man, very alpha, takes no prisoners and seemingly uncaring. But under all that roughness, lies a man deeply wounded with a past best left in the past.
Finlay too has had her heart crushed with loses . She returns home to be close to her little family and ends up working at the biker bar.
He is fearless, she is fearful of everything. But somehow these two , after many obstacles and detours , get their happiness.
An engaging plot, and complex characters will come to love.
