“I’m Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent. I can’t be celibate. Everyone knows that.”
Desperate to escape her scheming relatives, Evangeline Jenner has sought the help of the most infamous scoundrel in London.
A marriage of convenience is the only solution.
No one would have ever paired the shy, stammering wallflower with the sinfully handsome viscount. It quickly becomes clear, however, that Evie is a … becomes clear, however, that Evie is a woman of hidden strength—and Sebastian desires her more than any woman he’s ever known.
Determined to win her husband’s elusive heart, Evie dares to strike a bargain with the devil: If Sebastian can stay celibate for three months, she will allow him into her bed.
When Evie is threatened by a vengeful enemy from the past, Sebastian vows to do whatever it takes to protect his wife . . . even at the expense of his own life.
Together they will defy their perilous fate, for the sake of all-consuming love.

On a recommendation from a few of my author buddies when I was in search of a top-shelf historical romance, I read this book.
IT. WAS. EVERYTHING. I. NEEDED. AND. MORE!
This is one of my favorite books to read. I come back to it all the time. I absolutely love the back and forth between the two main characters. I love this book and can’t get enough of it.
When I’m in the writing cave, I gravitate toward books that are different from what I’m working on. I think that’s why I initially picked up a historical (recommended to me by Corinne Michaels)—but it turns out enemies-to-lovers banter is pretty timeless. It only got me even more excited for my upcoming E-to-L release. Devil in Winter was exactly …
Sebastian St. Vincent is one of my favorite romance heroes EVER. On the surface he’s kind of an ass–a rake, snarky, and jaded. But the way he’s so sweet and protective with Evie (the heroine) in the story and how he always has her back just made me fall completely in love with him! I’ve re-read this book so many times and never get tired of it. …
Scratch a rake and find a hero. St VINCENT is the ultimate cad when he is approached by our shy stumbling and abused heroine. If he will marry her and take her to her dying father she will share her considerable inheritance. She expects nothing else from him and he intends to give her only what she asks for. But the heroine brings out depths …
I listened to the audio of Devil in Winter on my drive to San Diego. Of course, I can recommend anything by Lisa Kleypas, but this one started it all. I initially hated Lord St. Vincent, but Kleypas had a delightful way of developing his character arc to turn him into an unforgettable hero!
I can’t believe this book is ten years old! And it was as much fun to read it the second time around! Lord St. Vincent is probably Kelypas’s most notorious rake–and watching him fall hook, line, and sinker for a shy, stuttering wallflower who is really anything but is the most fun EVER. I loved every bit of this book, which I read again after …
This is one of my all-time favorite books. I love that the hero of this novel was the villain in the previous novel in the series. It adds so many layers to him as he fights his love for Evie. Great read!
Miss Evangeline Jenner is in a perilous position. She is heiress to her father’s vast fortune from his ownership of a successful gaming hell but has been raised mostly by her mother’s family, as her father does not want her raised in such a circumstance, or perhaps just had no inkling of how to raise a daughter after her mother’s death. Her uncles …
I’m in love with St. Vincent.
There I said it!
This book is everything and the start of my historical romance love!
I loved this and I SOOOO love Sebastian
Historical Romance aren’t my go to reads BUT after experiencing this one I’m hooked and wanting more. I’ll definitely be trying more out.
It was great reading something different with charm.
It made me feel like dreaming about living in that time.
I love all 4 books in this series! Lisa Kleypas does an amazing job of bringing life to these characters. When I finished the set I found myself wondering how Evie, Annabelle, Lillian, and Daisy were doing.
I have read this book several times. It is by far my favorite of her series that are named for the four seasons. I actually had to buy a new copy because the original was falling apart! What is even more fun is the book written named “Devil’s Daughter”. This involves his daughter as you can imagine. Do read Lisa Kleypas! All of her books are …
Hands down, Devil in Winter is my favorite in The Wallflowers series. A marriage of convenience and a redemption story? Perfection! The journey and growth that Sebastian and Evie go through was amazing. I hung on every word right from the start. An absolutely brilliant story!
This is one for my keeper shelf. Sebastian is an all time favorite author. He made me laugh and broke my heart all at once.
My first by Lisa Kleypas…the characters are still etched in my mind….do try it you won’t regret !
Good read
What can I day Lisa K is an amazing writer!!!
Oh Sebastian. Who doesn’t love a Sebastian? A reluctant hero. A desperate heroine. This has all the things you want in a romance.
I had an opportunity to listen to the audiobook of Devil in Winter and it was just as amazing as I remember. I love Evie and Sebastian. Evie is such an amazing heroine and I love how fierce, independent yet sweet she is. Definitely the perfect person to go up again Sebastian. The audiobook was narrated by Mary Jane Wells and she did an absolutely …
