“From here on out here’s how it’s going to go. I play. You play. Don’t hit on me. Don’t flirt with me. Understood?”Handsome, charismatic, and blessed with a voice that brings thousands of fans to their knees, Trent Donovan is a walking cliché. But he has another thing coming if he thinks he can charm his way into my panties.I don’t care if he’s rich and famous because I’m not here to bag a rock … I’m not here to bag a rock star. I’m here to pave my own way. To prove I belong center stage.
There’s just one problem.
The more time I spend on the road with the band, the more I realize Trent’s nothing like the arrogant playboy I expected. We share a love of music, and if I’m honest so much more.
I came on this tour to follow my dreams, but if I’m not careful he’s bound to lead them off track–right along with my heart.
DETOUR is a standalone, opposites attract, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, rock star romance.

First I have to say, I feel so sorry for Trent’s mom. If I had to live in a house with those guys and witness the things she did, I would die! But she was exactly what these man children needed. Ha!
This was a fun, sexy read. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and ones that broke my heart. I loved the band dynamics and how well they were able to bring Lexi into the fold. It was great watching the easy banter between them all and Lexi’s ability to give as good as she got in terms of pranks and teasing.
Lexi and Trent were the classic rock star match. She was a talented singer/songwriter, strong, intelligent, a little damaged, and a total bombshell. Who better to bring Trent to his knees? And he needed her. Trent was the badass, cocky, manwhore rocker who appeared to be getting a little bored with the revolving door of groupies. Kacey did a fabulous job of showing us the hedonistic and destructive side of the rock star lifestyle as well as allowing Trent to evolve into a loving, caring, and devoted boyfriend. What I liked most about this book was the lack of angst of which I’m not a fan. It was great that what kept a wedge between Trent and Lexi was more of an internal struggle to accept the love and connection they had rather than some misunderstanding with a groupie. Thank you for that, Kacey Shea!
