“We’ll never be done, you and I.” He pushed off her desk. Closed the distance between them with prowling steps, clenched fists, and oh, so much determination. “Too much unfinished business to ever call it over.” He stopped a few steps away from uncomfortably close. Braced his palm on the wall behind her head, forearm brushing the side of her throat. “‘Sides”—he licked his lips, glanced down her … lips, glanced down her shirt—“we never got our hate f**k, baby girl.”
Iris knows he’ll come.
He’ll come lookin’ for what she stole, what she refused to give up when everything went to hell.
Won’t find it, of course.
There’s nothing left but a pipe full o’the good stuff and the dregs of the past that refuse to die.

Delirious about Delirium!!
What do you get when you mix a sneaky, snarky, foul-mouthed Mech who loves opioids of any kind, a rogue planet, a ragtag crew of pirates, and a big, bad, alpha male who has a jonesing for the abovementioned female? Delirium, the latest book from Myra Danvers.
You see, Iris took something belonging to Big Evil and he wants it back at any cost. Now having found her again, old wounds that never quite healed resurface and complicate matters further. Along with a colorful cast of characters such as Maahes the cat, Daxx, Shantz, Oriana, and Ben (who may have a secret agenda of his own), Myra has set the stage for an edgy sci-fi saga.
Our story takes place in the “After” where Iris and Big Evil cross paths again after many years apart. In the “Before” they were Fleur and Levi when a life-changing event occurred that under normal circumstances would have destroyed a normal person, but not these two. Instead, their broken history binds them in ways they’ve yet to understand which leaves them with unfinished business.
Iris is a Mech genius who can construct or deconstruct anything from scratch. One particular incident shows how well she is at adapting to her surroundings by using a very unique tool on a Nannybot. And the language that comes out of her mouth exemplifies the creative genius of Ms. Danvers. Hysterical to say the least! And what about Big Evil? He is definitely one man you don’t want to mess with. Despite his bad attitude toward Iris, deep down I believe he really does have a soft spot for her. And unfortunately for Daxx, he needs the skills of Iris and Big Evil to complete his own nefarious agenda.
I can’t wait to see where the next chapter of this “edge-of-your-seat” story will take me, but I am buckled up and ready for the ride. So come along if you dare for high adventure set in the cosmos. You won’t be disappointed I assure you…heard?
Great book!!! When’s book 2 coming??!?!?
Oh my holy fuck, because yeah, just fuck. This book is amazing, compelling, insane, possibly psychotic, and definitely a must read.
When I started reading, I knew it was going to be a great space opera kind of story, but I didn’t expect the roller coaster ride that I ended up taking. Myra Danvers tied me to the car and turned on the roller coaster and it sent me spinning around and around. And yet, I never wanted to get off the ride.
I love Iris. I’m pretty sure that I don’t want to be anywhere around her, because, well, disaster follows her, but I would love to watch the chaos that surrounds her, with a big bucket of popcorn. I wonder what goes on in her brain, because I’m pretty sure that it’s really scary in there.
Big Evil is just… wow. And I can’t wait to see more of their back story, because what we have gotten is just magnetic.
I can’t wait for the next installment of the story, because it’s going to be a helluva ride.
I’ll start off by saying that I read this all in one sitting – I just couldn’t put it down! The heroine is so bad ass and I loved it. She’s sassy, snarky, and a little crazy (but in a good way). The rest of the characters all had their unique quirks and I wanted to learn more about everyone, even the supporting characters were so well crafted.
And the world building – wow! Ms. Danvers has created a unique sci-fi universe that’s built out nicely. You learn more about this universe as you read on, and you can feel yourself in it since everything is described so vividly. There’s mention of a “before” and I’m really intrigued to learn more in future installments.
I will say that it ends on a cliffhanger that leaves you dying to know what happens next. As with the rest of the book, there was never a dull moment and every scene was filled with action or unravelling of more secrets. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
I love an author that is adaptable and the comparison between this book and Danver’s debut novel, Ravenous Innocence, proves that she is just that! And I love both styles!
Delirium features an incredibly strong, if slightly crazy, female lead. It was a lot of fun to read with a strong vein of sexuality backed up by an excellent storyline, complicated and damaged main character and an engaging foe/love interest.
Couldn’t put it down!
Omg this book is so good. I love it and can’t wait for what’s next from this author. I couldn’t put this down .
This story has so many ups and downs! Intense moments, funny moments, intense moments that end up being funny, etc. It seems to have a strong redemption theme, and I absolutely love stories of redemption. Iris is the baddest bitch in the universe. Her brilliance, foul mouth, and fierce independence made her an immediate favorite for me. She’s strong, she’s a survivor, and she lets no one stand in her way. The whole cast is brilliant, funny, and amazingly written, but Iris is far and away the star. Big Evil is a great character too, and though I started out disliking him as much as Iris does, he becomes more likable as the story goes on. I fell in love with their characters and I’m dying to read the next one. You will not regret reading this story.
Oh hell…I’ve read some crazy female leads before but it seems they have nothing on our girl Iris/Fleur. Depending on who’s in charge, you never know exactly what’s gonna happen and whether or not which one is the sane one of the two personality. Iris/Fleur is one smart “B”. She’s been on her own, exactly the way she likes it until the past, otherwise know as Big Evil, catches up with her and she gets caught in a trap. Too bad those who think they got her don’t realize how her brain is already working on a way out.
Big Evil, even knowing how her brain works, still gets a lot of surprises from Iris/Fleur. There’s lots of history between the two. Some of it gets revealed, especially the one that broke the camel’s back. I have a feeling not all has been revealed and whether or not there’s any chance for a reconciliation between the two, it remains to be seen at this point. If you ask Iris/Fleur, most definitely not, LOL.
Myra Danvers weaves an extraordinary tale in this new sci-fi series. The female lead have me rooting for her and yet at times, I’m wondering if I should be condemning her for her actions; she takes extreme to the max! I’m looking forward to reading more, especially with that cliff hanger! I want to know what Myra Danvers have in store for us.
What do you get when you blend a bit of angst with a touch of humor?
Iris
What do you get when you have a dash of genius mixed with a dose of madness?
Fleur
Let me start by saying this ends on a cliff hanger – most really good series do (just like a television shows season finale) I just want you to know this going in
Now on to my thoughts regarding the absolutely entertaining and complete madness that is Delirium!
I am in love! Iris (and all her sociopath personalities) is the bomb! She is a genius with no #@k$ left to give! Which makes her quite dangerous but very very entertaining
This story is filled with so many fantastic cast members! We have Levi, Big Evil, Daxx, Maahes, just to name a few.
How Danvers brought together such a vastly different group of personalities and made them so vivid .. Makes me wonder what it looks like inside her mind?
This is one of those series that you just do not pass up!
The story line is complex yet it is presented in a flawless manner keeping the reader engaged and entertained
I found myself drug through the black hole that is my kindle and captured from the opening scene to the closing
I need, want the next in series
Ummm….WOW!
What a gripping story with complex, intriguing, unique characters! This story has elements of sci-fi, dark romance and is dramatic. With so many elements layered to produce a fantastic story that is a must read!
Delirium is so good!! It took me awhile to get into but once I did, it was great!! The story follows drug addicted Iris, an arrogant yet talented Mech who is happy to live her life alone on her ship. All of a sudden Big Evil, a man who did her so wrong in the past that Iris cannot say his name, comes along and disrupts that solitude.
The story is humorous and on more than one occasion I got crazy looks because I was laughing out loud. There is strong language, but I think it only enhances Iris as a character. As usual, Ms Danvers does a great job with description and world building. This book was such a pleasant surprise and I truly look forward to the rest of the series.
I loved, loved LOVED this book. Myra Danvers has mastered describing this universe and the characters. The story made me laugh, cry, scream and completely addicted. Now impaintley waiting for book number 2, I can see Myra Danvers fast becoming one of my favourite authors!
Oh Myra, you have done it again. A book that had me captivated from beginning to end. Iris is is one bad Bitch and she knows it. I’m falling deeper and deeper in the world of sci-fi.
This book was way out there!! It helped that Iris was sh**bag crazy and a total genus!! I loved it! Not sure if this was really dark, or just really sinister read. I had fun reading this book.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I picked up this one but the premise and the “heroine” are so different and unusual -she’s a little crazy – but it works for the story. If you like sci fi are craving something different, give this one a try.
How do I even start to review this? Its one of the best books I have ever read!!!! I love Iris, and kind of hate her a little bit too. Big Evil, hate him. But love him a little. Should Iris kill Big Evil? YES! But, I am also rooting for them as a couple. The world the author creates is fascinating, scary, brutal, intense, creepy and sexy. This is sci fi at its best. A bit of romance, and I use that term loosely, violence, bad guys that may be a bit good, good guys that are mostly bad, a little sex and lots of other great stuff in between! MUST READ!
Iris/Fleur is one bad mutha, wrapped up in a whole lotta crazy, and packed in a psychotic, heat-applied clamshell, sprinkled with glitter – cause we all need a little glitter ;). I Love it!
I was skeptical – sci-fi is not my thing -and honestly I struggled with the long awaited/anticipated Ravenous Innocence-Last Tritan, however it eventually stuck and I’ll continue with that series, but I’ve digressed. This book, I devoured in hours – gave up sleep to finish and man-oh-man was it worth it!!! I love Iris, she makes me laugh with how diabolical she gets. I won’t give much away, but if you’re a fan of Tritan, you’ll love this too. Well done Myra-your writing makes me smile/laugh out loud with your characters and this one will make it to my re-read collection
Shhh!
That’s the sound of silence, caused by me being in total awe and wonder.
If I knew how to add a gif, I would be adding a ‘mind blown’ one. This is sci-fi ‘romance’ as it should be. No dominant strangely coloured humanoid aliens come to ‘claim their one true mate’. No this is life on the frontier of space, with a deranged heroine, an evil hero, a possible third and also fourth to the story, along with magnificent world building like you wouldn’t believe.
It ends on a soft cliffie, but so what? I used to read Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, David Eddings, Julian May, Marion Zimmer Bradley and they all had cliffies too. We didn’t moan about that AND we had to wait sometimes a year or more for the next book. And yes, I am putting Myra Danvers up there with all those greats of the sci-fi/fantasy world because, goddamn, this woman can write.
I couldn’t read this book quickly enough, I absolutely loved Iris. Forget book boyfriends, she’s the kind of girl I could switch sides for. Bloody hell she is one crazy, f’d-up bitch of the highest order. I want to be her when I grow up. Big Evil, well I don’t think we’ve fully explored all the depths of him yet, so I’m reserving judgement, though I’m liking what I’ve seen so far.
It most also be noted that his has a female supporting character, who isn’t a bitch or a piece of totty and whose sole purpose is not to irritate/upset/annoy the heroine of the piece. I am so looking forward to seeing more of Oriana, not to mention the devilishly sexy Daxx and the intriguing Ben.
Whilst this book might be about Atom (Iris) and Evil (Big Evil), it is about so much more too. It doesn’t rely on cardboard cutout, just-change-the-name characters, identikit plots and a story that could just as easily be set on Earth. I can’t believe this is only the second book this author has released, because *insert whatever swear word you wish* it dragged me down the rabbit hole of insanity, chaos and delicious deceit into a world I didn’t want to leave.
My favourite read of the year.
Myra Danvers delivers once again! The ability of this writer to suck you into a believable alternate universe is un-canny. This time we are sent into space and the not so distant future. You are dropped unceremoniously into Iris’s lap. She is a foul-mouthed space engineer with considerable mechanical talent. I was caught in Iris’s spell from the start. She is a heroine of surprising strength for one so obviously damaged. The plot is deep, twisty and dark, dark, dark…. her nemesis is just as devious as her! As you watch Big Evil (and others) try to manipulate Iris, you can’t help wondering what she will do about it. So, so, so looking forward to book 2!
I’m a huge fan of Sci-fi mixed with my steamy novels, and this book does not disappoint. I won’t spoil things here and ruin the fun for new readers, but I will say I love how fast paced and engaging the story is. You’re going to read this cover to cover like an addict and be craving more. I can’t wait for the next book! Iris is unique and amazing and I can’t wait to get more of the history of these characters Myra is building. I’m a bit sucker for a well developed history and background in a world and I could roll around in this book’s universe for a long time. I need answers to these mysteries!
But seriously, this book is fast paced steamy fun, with a female character who’s not an insipid heroine or a cookie cutter idea. She’s fierce and real, and I love it.
