Can a dominant, damaged alien possibly fix the human whose mind got shattered?Sage:I find out their secret, so I am stripped naked and thrown in a cell with a gigantic alien who is too damaged to speak. He defiles me repeatedly, body and mind, while we are both put through experiments. Nothing is what it seems, and eventually I no longer know what is real and what is not. I don’t even know who I … is not. I don’t even know who I am anymore.
Algers:
I was crazed and broken when they forced me to pair bond with a human. Now she carries my child. I am the rightful ruler of this besieged planet. If the humans knew who I was, Alaxia would fall to them. I will leave this place, take my human plaything with me, and wage war on those who would dare imprison me. But will it be too late for Sage?
Publisher’s Note: Even though this is book two in the Unbreakable series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. This is an extremely dark romance with graphic scenes, mind control and other dark elements. It is meant for mature audiences. The heroine’s character is intentionally inconsistent. If alpha aliens in a post-apocalyptic world with total power exchange offend you, please do not purchase.

this book is not for the faint of heart, there’s allot of mixed world living, along with a lot of abuse and rape, along with non-con/dub-con. really good story if you can get past all of the other crazy
I’m torn how to rate this book, for one it was a “VERY DARK ROMANCE” much darker than I prefer and it’s heavy with BDSM. While working for the Grande Pharma company, Sage overhears Dr. Harker talk about “the rats” and goes to check them out. She finds that “the rats” are humans and when the company finds out she knows, they throw her into the test project where she’s drugged, debased, hurt and tortured by the VD program. She’s then thrown into a cell with Algers who also was experimented on and drugged to mate. Algers, a Alaxian, is a Prince and his race are very dominate males through out this book. Can they find the way to work together to escape the clutches of Grande Pharma? This was a well written book that despite it’s darkness kept me entertained to the final page in this Sci-fi romance as Sage is thrust between the VD program and reality in this book. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.
Defiled is the second book in the Unbreakable series. Sage works for Grande Pharma, but when she discovers one of their major secrets, she becomes an experiment herself. Sage is thrust into a new world where half is reality, half is VR, and half is suppressed memories. When you don’t know what’s real anymore, who to trust, and when up is down, how can Sage survive and how does the alien fit into her life?
Holy Darkness, Batman! This book in intense. It’s not for the faint of heart, this is not a sweet romance, and my heart and my mind both hurt reading this book. But holy smokes, it was SO GOOD!! Sage and Algers were incredible and this was a shocking journey. Sage, that girl, my heart just broke for her. Not being able to realize what was real, what was from the VR, what memories were true… I honestly can’t even imagine what that would do to someone. I loved that her brain processed things the way it needed to, I loved that Algers kept her as safe as he could, and I loved that while they didn’t want their connection initially, they were wonderful together. Algers is the Prince, but he’s just as active in fighting for survival as any other military member. I loved that he had to face some difficult situations, I loved that he didn’t always know what was best for Sage, but I loved that through everything they went through, he still gained her trust. What a follow up to the first book in the series, with lots of twists and turns and events that I was not expecting and didn’t know I’d love as much as I did. I’ll say it again, this book was dark and intense, but I seriously loved every second I spent reading it!
Sage is a scientist who believes that humans are the only ones on Alaxia. Until she sees something that she wasn’t. Now she’s being experimented on. Sage isn’t sure what is real and what is VR. Algers is an alien that lives on Alaxia. He was captured by humans. Then experimented on. One of the experiments were with Sage. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. ~Diabolical deeds~
Torture of the hapless and innocent Sage Ash via vile VR non-con situations takes this second book in the series into an even darker turn. While exponentially darker, there is light at the end of the tunnel for both Sage and Algiers, and I know now to expect the unexpected with regards to what happens next! Director Harrow is not someone to under estimate!
This book by Aria Adams was definitely on the dark dark side and very twisted with the perverted sexual actions. One of the amazing things about the writing was that the author made it difficult for the reader to tell what actually happening in real life as opposed to virtual reality. There was also a developing romance between the two main characters, Sage and Algers, as well as a happy for now kind of ending. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Blushing Books.
This is book two in the series – It can be read as a standalone but WHY would you want to?
(IMO) The scenes have more weight to them if you have read the first in series and acquired a bit of background – also I felt it increased the darker aspects to the secondary characters making for a greater emotional connection for me
Talk about messing with someone’s mind – my heart broke for Sage – What they did and tried to do to her – Even I had trouble at times differentiating between what was real and what was VR and the prejudices and resulting behaviors (by both sides) !
Algers – not sure if I like him or not I think he could have been a bit more patient? understanding? Not sure if he redeemed himself in the end
I do want the next in series NOW! This is a deliciously addicting sci-fi series
This does contain dark and dubious subject matter
This was well written. The story, although hard to read at times, was perfectly setup as a sci-fi story with a paranormal aspect. The world was interesting and imaginative. The trauma to her was unimaginable yet believable. I found it mesmerizingly effective when the author included her thoughts as she wondered if what she was actually dealing with was real or not. It gave the story an emotional connection far beyond the connection that the two main characters had together. Well done.
Whoa.
Im not really sure what to say.
This was most certainly a dark romance.
There were moments, like while watching a movie, where I wanted to look away but I couldnt. It was impossible to stop reading.
A mixture of dark and tragic. Hot and sweet.
I know I am looking forward to book 3.
Happy reading!

Dark Dystopian Future
“Defiled” is a well written, original, fast paced, darkly erotic, sci-fi romance featuring; chills, thrills and … cringe worthy trepidation. The ultimate evil corporation, grossly unethical and inhumane experimentation, a caste social order as well as the utilization of artificial reality as a form of control, combine to create a totally mind-bending story-line. Both the human heroine and alien hero are subjected to hideously inhumane treatment as well as a forced, lifelong pair bonding. Initially, the act of mating for the couple is unbelievably repulsive and deadly for the heroine, due to vile anatomical changes perpetrated on the hero by the evil corporation. As the coerced and gruesome mating takes place, the heroine is further exposed to horrific experiences, by the corporation, using artificial reality technology. Throughout the story, the heroine has difficulty separating reality from artificially induced horrific events, keeping the reader guessing as well as providing the narrative with a “Nightmare on Elm Street” dream vs reality effect. Although a very dark, disturbing read with a multitude of obstacles to overcome “Defiled” also manages to deliver hope, love and eroticism within a D/s relationship.

First off, if you have sexual assault triggers, this book will be pretty hard to read. It is dark and with scenes of non-consent. Beyond that, the storyline was an interesting concept. I had not read book one but this was pretty much a standalone. Reading book one might help, if nothing else, just being introduced to what Grande Pharma is. The couple from book one does not play a part in this story until the end.
Sage and Algers were taken through a mind tripping experience of reality, virtual reality, mind control, and behavior controlling drugs. Many times, Sage had trouble determining what was real and what was not. She wasn’t the only one. I often had trouble figuring it out, too. Instead of being frustrated at that it made the reading experience better for me because I could relate to Sage and what she was going through. At times, this was difficult to read. The torture Sage was put through was unimaginable. At times, she wanted to give up (and I don’t blame her) but, for the most part, she was a fighter.
I like dark stories but there are only certain sci-fi one I enjoy. This was a little different for me but I liked it. I want to go back and read book one, as well as read book three. I can’t wait to see what happens with Director Harrow.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this magnificent, deliciously dark & twisted futuristic post apocalyptic alien Sci-fi romance but please be advised that this book is not for the faint-hearted. The plot is excellent with unexpected, devious events & extremely dark elements. It definitely grabs the reader’s attention. The unique characters are complex with well-developed personalities & display some deviousness combined with determination to achieve their goals & react with realistic emotional feeling to the situation they find themselves in.
There is: a young female who sees something she should not have seen (Sage), an captured & drugged Alaxian alien, a company running unethical experiments (Grand Pharma), a devious mind control program, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, danger, evil, enemies, violence, mind control, torture, abuse, experimental atrocities, drugs, forced non-consensual intimacy, terror, defiance, punishment, spanking, BDSM, reality, false memories, strange abilities, attacks, retaliation, explosions, deaths, plans, mates, acceptance, contentment, consensual intimacy & a tantalizing glimpse of a future book.
I really would recommend this futuristic post apocalyptic alien Sci-fi romance to people who enjoy reading this genre. I sincerely doubt that you would be disappointed in this book.
Wow!! What a stunning dark very hot and amazing book to rea. Aria Adams has done a excellent job of writing this story. I couldnt put it down, honestly, i had to know what was going on with the characters.
Sage saw and heard something she shouldnt, next thing she knows she is in a cell with a monster, one that wants to hurt and kill her. She wakes up the second time and manages to communite with him. Little does she know that he has been captured by the humans for experiments and he is a prince. But he has been given something and is in constant rutting mode.. poor Sage doesnt knoe if ghings are real or not. She is determind not to be broken
Sage, i loved her strength of character, she is strong, even though they think she is broken. She fights even though her mind is miles away, protecting the man who is hers.
He is taken and his mind messed with by them giving him drugs. She is taken and put in with him as his plaything. She is just as messed up at the moment. He uses and abuses her and mates with her without realizing it. She gets pregnant. Things are so messed up. It is exciting, dark, hot, emotional and so much more. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Dark, suspenseful and a big mind trip, this book will seriously keep you on edge as the story unfolds. There is a lot going on here, so expect drama, intensity, twists and heat. This book (and series) does contain content that will not appeal to every reader. So be sure to do your research before buying. I found the characters compelling and complex, the plot captured and held my interest and the world well developed. A good book in a good series, that I hope to see more from.
Defiled by Aria Adams is book two in the Unbreakable series and my second story by Ms. Adams. When I one-clicked on a copy, I assumed that it would be dark given the title and summary and she did not disappoint. So. Wow! Fair warning. This story has some seriously dark elements mixed in with some great dystopian science fiction. If this is your cup of tea and you enjoyed story 1, then snatch this baby up fast because the darkness and erotica are scintillating. Not so fair warning, but one nonetheless, Ms. Adams will make your head spin as you, much like like Sage, will have difficulty telling the difference between reality and VR and that makes the story that much better. Storytelling at its darkest that makes the light at the end shine that much brighter.
