Terrific suspense, so much so that I finished it in one day. This is the last in this series, and it’s sad to see it end. The group of main characters throughout these books feel like a family, and it is a thoroughly enjoyable, suspenseful series.
The last book can be read on its own, but I do recommend reading the entire series. This book has two separate mysteries/ storylines taking place. It increases the pace of the book and made it a real page turner for me.
Plus I had been looking forward to Luke’s story, and it didn’t disappoint.
This is a well done mystery/ suspense read as Dani Pettrey continues to produce!
I received this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
This is a “no spoiler” review. I’m not going to write anything about the plot because I don’t want to lessen the suspense in this book in any way.
My first thought when I finished this “every-page-has-a-heart-stopping moment” book was that I could finally breathe normally again. My second thought was to wonder when Dani Pettrey would have another new book published. If you’ve followed this series, you’ll agree that this is the perfect ending to all the storylines through the books, However, you can read this book without having read the others and it will still keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved the fact that it was completely clean Christian fiction with no bad language or embarrassing scenes.
Forget watching your favorite TV drama. The suspense, intrigue, romance and faith in this book will far surpass any TV show. This book gets five stars from me.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review. I was not required to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Here’s a grand finale to the Chesapeake Valor series!
Enjoy this stunning series conclusion as the whole Chesapeake Valor group works diligently to stop two separate killers–one serial and the other a terrorist. Dani Pettrey weaves another masterful and inspiring tale to reach a much-needed conclusion to the two cases and all the series’ favorite characters, especially and finally for Luke and Kate. Prepare for several surprises and twists along the way.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
This action packed five-star book is the conclusion to the Chesapeake Valor series. I have to admit I am quite distraught. There are just some books where you become emotionally invested in the characters and you don’t want to say goodbye. This one of those series, but it’s a great conclusion. Whether you’re male or female, Dead Drift will hold your interest. It has mystery, action and just the right amount of romance. Each book has focused on one of four childhood friends and this book is all about Luke and his love interest Kate. Readers will finally learn who killed Griffin’s sister, which has been the mystery throughout the series. And, the action revolves the team’s efforts, especially Luke, Kate, Declan, and Tanner, as they race against time to stop a catastrophic terrorist attack. The only thing that could make this book better is if it weren’t the last book in the series. I’m going to miss this crime fighting group.
So very sad to see this delightful series come to an end! Everything you’ve wondered and questioned while reading these books will be answered in this last installment. Luke finally returns and the whole gang has limited time to solve a case that could result in a deadly terrorist attack if left unchecked. Honestly, I think my favorite part of the whole book is Kate and Luke’s chemistry. The fact that she’s waited for 7 years to find out what became of him and has to decide whether or not to let him be apart of her life again. Hard choices and hard questions. You also find out what happened to Jenna McCray as Griffin investigates that situation further. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and rooting for the team to come through! These are such steady characters. Dani Pettrey does an awesome job developing characters but also keeping their personalities and storylines consistent throughout the course of her series, especially Chesapeake Valor. Loved it! Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!!
