Daring (The Candomble Guard Book 1) by Danielle Bellwood is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series written by a brand new author for me to read and I can not wait to read the rest of this wonderful series that I am so hooked on. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about dystopian adventure and love story.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
It’s hard to read dystopian stories sometimes but I loved reading this one. It’s exciting and intriguing and the mystery surrounding Dari is one I can’t wait to continue reading. It’s a love story but with real life dystopian elements that will have you on edge the whole time reading.
Daring is half dystopian adventure and half redemption romance. Quick-paced and full of twists and turns, I was whisked away to another fully-developed world.
For readers that want some action, both in and out of the ‘bedroom’, you will enjoy the action-packed conflicts balanced nicely with steamy scenes.
This is a new author for me and so I was excited to see how I liked this book. I absolutely loved it, I was drawn into the plot from the get-go and there are plenty of twists and turns that held my interest. The characters are well rounded and have lots of depth to them that comes to light as the book continues. Although this is a full-length novel it doesn’t feel like it because I was so mesmerized by the plot and the characters that it ended before I knew it. Looking forward to reading book 2 in the series.
I recently had the pleasure of reading an exciting new trilogy by Danielle Bellwood called The Candomble Guard.
And wow this dystopian-fantasy world is truly spectacular filled with intrigue and danger.
The first book Daring you meet Dari Nguyen a remarkable strong and caring woman who believes in the community she lives in an strives to keep it safe.
Then there’s the new recruits several of them make themselves known right from the start and oh how they rub each other the absolutely the wrong ways posturing for positions and tons of testosterone.
This book is a five star grand slam and
I look forward to reading the next book.
Dari is tough and self-controlled. No emotion. But love finds us all. Because of something that happened when she was young Dari doesn’t love anyone except her best friend because they have both gone through heartache together and support each other. Dari only cares about her job, what is best for everyone. No emotions just logic. That’s what makes her a good trainer. But then a new trainee gets under her skin, and is just like her. Emotionless, only caring about learning his job and advancing. But when she sees another side of him her feelings change drastically. He’s not has hard has he is acting. Then on a mission, several women are killed and their group is separated. People she trained and trusted have betrayed them. Who can she trust? ONE FANTABULOUS EXPERIENCE!!!
Smokin’! Danielle mastered the breeze, spun the thread, weaving a cocoon so intricately and tight, drawing you deeper into this tangled web as this piece of perfection falls into place beautifully. Grab a drink and snack, kick back and relax, you aren’t going anywhere. Satisfying is an understatement, you get it all with this baby. A tumultuous wild ride with a bevy of inadvertent contingencies that combine this baby together one piece at a time. Sparks fly as drama, intrigue and mounting suspense spirals, blasting this baby into a tailspin with challenging impacts. Diving head first, witnessing the trials and tribulations that tests our characters in ways they never saw coming. The characters are authentic, genuine and realistic with depth and qualities that blend into amazing personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions make for a majestic backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Fantastic job Jamie, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
