Aunt Honore is up to her old tricks, only now she’s meddling in her mysterious nephew’s life… fashionable Breakfast Party of the Season wearing a perfectly stunning Chinese silk gown, only to discover Lord St. Evert is clad in unmentionables cut from identical cloth.
Humiliating. And insufferable! Why, the devil, must he show up in fabrics Elizabeth searched so diligently to procure? To say nothing of the long hours she spent secretly stitching her creations together. He must be stopped. She is determined to spy out his perplexing game, and put an end to his interference.

This is a fun series. A bit contrived, but the writing is light, with humor, and the characters enjoyable. I will read more of them.
Really un-steamy–a Georgette Heyer type Regency. As you get to know them, Izzie and Valen become ever more sympathetic and likable. Valen comes to some reconciliation with his past. An epilogue might have been nice to give Izzie a similar resolution–and I just generally like epilogues–not the next day kind, the ones that provide a glimpse of down the road a piece.
Very good storyline, had an interesting twist.
Cute plot and enjoyed the book. Witty
Lots of humor, I was crying I was laughing so hard in places. Loved the characters and the story. Will look for other books by this author.
It was a cute read.
Really enjoyed this book. Fun and easy to read!
This book was easy to read and absolutely delightful to listen to. Well I usually like more steam in my books even without the steam she kept my attention. She explained the heroin and hero very nicely. The writing was excellent. The little bit of medical history was interesting.
Story 5/5
Steam 2/5
Narration 5/5
Overall 5/5
Absolutely loved it for the greatly entertaining and witty exchanges between the main characters, who are very real and well developed for the Regency period!!!
Fun crazy story
I love this story!
This book was adorable. The perfect afternoon escape. Made me laugh many times.
Elizabeth seeks to marry for money and wants to impress the ton with her original creations crafted from the most expensive silk available to her. However. she has a tight budget and is unaware that the silk she purchases is part of a smuggling operation. Valen is a thorn in her side because he has appeared at two events wearing outlandish clothing fashioned from the same fabric as are her gowns. As he begins to piece together some of the mystery surrounding Elizabeth, Valen learns that she is stitching her own formal wear and rethinks his mission of humiliating her by disparaging her wardrobe through integrating Elizabeth’s fabric choices into his own clothing. Surprises and suspense are in store once the smuggled goods come to light and reinforcements are needed to protect Elizabeth from her ill chosen desires to fit in. How will it end? Will Valen enter into Elizabeth’s good graces?
The best book I have read in months. A cozy romance novel without being crude and sexually explicit, which is rare to find.
light entertaining book easy to read and characters to draw your interest.
I enjoyed her style of writing very much. Fun romance novel.
Love this story. I have read it three times!
Marmot
Yea!! No steamy sex scenes to wade thru.
The interaction between the main characters was fun. Both main characters were good foils and complex.
They shouldn’t have billed this book as humorous. It was light-hearted but wasn’t really as witty or funny as I expected. It wasn’t terrible but not great either. The author does have an ending on her website, but that shouldn’t be necessary.
