Real-life flight attendant Heather Poole has written a charming and funny insider’s account of life and work in the not-always-friendly skies. Cruising Attitude is a Coffee, Tea, or Me? for the 21st century, as the author parlays her fifteen years of flight experience into a delightful account of crazy airline passengers and crew drama, of overcrowded crashpads in “Crew Gardens” Queens and … Gardens” Queens and finding love at 35,000 feet. The popular author of “Galley Gossip,” a weekly column for AOL’s award-winning travel website Gadling.com, Poole not only shares great stories, but also explains the ins and outs of flying, as seen from the flight attendant’s jump seat.

If you fly at all, you will enjoy this behind the scenes look at airlines from the point of view of a long time flight attendant. Her stories are really funny and some of them are unbelievable. Very entertaining!
I love this book, read it three times. Informative and interesting. I didn’t know a thing about flight attendants until I read it. Recommend.
Anyone who deals with the public will find a variation on their every day trials in this hilarious book. The perk of flying to far off destinations made most of us want to be flight attendants but the realities of th job are just not for faint of heart.
As a retired flight crew member, I could hardly fail to see this was about my own airline. Though I started out with another airline, this one took over ours and I had ample time to see the differences, good and bad, before I retired. But I’m with her. It’s the best job out there, but also one of the worst for long-time flight attendants who take on altitude radiation and tend to get cancer. I got it also, but taking care of oneself by not eating out, drinking, or medicating oneself to excess will help to offset biorhythm disruptions embedded in this job/career. It’s a good book to read for people on the fence about whether to try for it or not. Good luck!
Loved this book. Have a few found respect for airline stewardesses now.
Gives you a brand new perspective on the life of a flight attendant
Couldn’t get through the first few pages. As a former flight attendant it seemed wildly exaggerated.
Ok
Light reading, life as a flight attendant
Wordy, boring.
Interesting information about the life of a flight attendant
Great anecdotal account – fun read as a frequent flier!
Good book about the life of a hostile. Light and entertaining just what we need sometimes to escape what is going on around us sometimes
Not terribly well written but it is an insight into being a flight attendant.
Somewhat disjointed memoirs
Not enough stories from the flights.
Interesting reading
Meh. Interesting bits of info about how life revolves around the job, and how things work in the industry, but these were not strong enough to carry the book. Those bits came in small doses between lots of junk. Most of the book felt very gossipy, and in this case, I think that’s all that sells it. Definitely puts a negative image on flight attendants in general (if we go by this one woman’s story) portrays them as shallow, cheating, backstabbers. No interest in any sequels.
Nothing new or exciting. The book is really dated.
I enjoyed this book
