ABOUT THIS EPISODE“I’m sorry.”A stage play turns into high drama when the leading man’s mutilated body takes center stage–and the remorseful note pinned to his chest is Malcolm and Seong-Jae’s only clue to finding the killer. What should be a simple case is complicated by secrets and lies; as more and more of Seong-Jae’s past surfaces, every deflection and careful half-truth builds the walls … deflection and careful half-truth builds the walls between partners-turned-lovers higher still.
When Malcolm and Seong-Jae can no longer see eye to eye…will the closing act of their story turn into a tragedy?
ABOUT THE SERIES
Baltimore homicide detective Malcolm Khalaji has his own way of doing things: quiet, methodical, logical, effective, not always particularly legal. He’s used to working alone—and the last thing he needs is a new partner ten years his junior.
Especially one like Seong-Jae Yoon.
Icy. Willful. Detached. Stubborn. Seong-Jae is all that and more, impossible to work with and headstrong enough to get them both killed…if they don’t kill each other first. Foxlike and sullen, Seong-Jae’s disdainful beauty conceals a smoldering and ferocious temper, and as he and Malcolm clash the sparks between them build until neither can tell the difference between loathing and desire.
But as bodies pile up at their feet a string of strange, seemingly unrelated murders takes a bizarre turn, leading them deeper and deeper into Baltimore’s criminal underworld. Every death carries a dangerous message, another in a trail of breadcrumbs that can only end in blood.
Malcolm and Seong-Jae must combine their wits against an unseen killer and trace the unsettling murders to their source. Together, they’ll descend the darkest pathways of a twisted mind—and discover just how deep the rabbit hole goes. And if they can’t learn to trust each other?
Neither will make it out alive.

CRIMINAL INTENTIONS Season One, Episode Eleven: CRESCENDO by Cole McCade is an awesome story that I have read. This is book number 11 in this awesome series that I have loved reading very much. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves to read about suspense,LGBT and paranormal romances in their stories.

The story is getting more intense by the minute! I can taste it! Both Malcolm and Seong-Jae are circling around each other – one is scared to ask and the other is scared to have to answer the inevitable questions. They pretend that everything is as it should be but the facade is quickly crumbling. Malcolm is at a loss about how to keep Seong-Jae from bolting, and Seong-Jae is ready to snap mentally and physically.
It is right there – the big elephant in the room but both men cling to any shred of normalcy they can. There are moments when they seek each other out for support but they are few and far between. It doesn’t help that Seong-Jae is craving again, that Sila is getting too close and that he doesn’t know how to keep Malcolm safe except with distance. This was very emotionally charged read, I could cut the anticipation in the air with a knife. The ending left me on edge honestly, as if I want to know the truth but a little bit scared (good scared though) to know!
The case this time was very interesting. I loved reading about temperamental actors, the theater scene, and how Malcolm and Seong-Jae worked together to discover if this murder was the case of mistaken identity or mad obsession. I so didn’t see the outcome coming but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The brief verbal sparring with Anjulie was very amusing and kept both Malcolm and Seong-Jae on their toes, and smattering of humor that was so typical of both men lightened the dark mood of the story. All in all, this was awesome! I loved how the author left it the end. Just whetted my appetite! I am ready for the next one!
Fuck. Fuuuuuck!
I knew it was going to happen. I was on edge the whole time because I was waiting for it and it still hurt like a bitch! They are killing me!
What the fuck, Cole? And I’m going to kill Sade! Why, damn it!! For fuck’s sake Seong Jae, talk to Mal.
I cannot ever be good for you, but I am too selfish to let you go.
Oh I just wanna hug Mal. My heart hurts for him. He’s so perfect and I just want both of them to be happy.
Cresendo is aptly named. Shit is just going to get wilder. Loved the case. Sila terrifies me. I know the shit is going to hit the fan soon and I’m so not ready for it. I’m not going to say anything else ’cause I don’t want to spoil anything.
I love police procedurals and romantic suspense, so of course I was excited when this author announced this series idea and shared insights on his Patreon way back when. I knew it would be good. I mean he’s an auto-buy for me for a reason, but I honestly couldn’t have fathomed just how amazing this series would be. The slow burn romance between Malcolm and Seong-Jae is incredible. Their chemistry palpable in the little touches, snarky comments, and sweet moments, has created a couple I’m utterly invested in. Add to that, these cases that are different every time I pick up the latest episode- offering up a range of emotions and ways of solving each particular case. Then there’s the ribbons of long-game suspense, specifically Sila, that keep me reaching for the next book while nervous for what it will have in store for these characters I’ve come to love. Taken singularly each of these aspects would make for great reads, but when you combine them and mix in the author’s pacing, descriptions that transport readers, and his ability to create unique, multi-dimensional characters…it’s magic.
Crescendo offered a unique case with a great twist at the end which I loved. There’s also a lot of frustration-inducing moments within Seong-Jae and Malcolm’s relationship. Not frustrating in such a way that I feel the author took the easy way out to create and draw out conflict, but where you see things start to fall apart and wish you could step in and right them. Really, this is simply a testament to how caught up in these characters I am. The tension building in this episode, especially as things slot into place toward the close of the book, promises for an incredible finale that I am sure will blow me away.
On stage is a body but there is only one clue to who is behind it all is a note pinned to the body. How are they going to find the murderer? How hard will. They have to work to find them? Follow them to see how they get on

This is a very brief into the storyline of Criminal Intentions. As I did not read the previous episodes it was a bit confusing so I suggest you read the whole series. What I can say is that it is action packed and very descriptive. It had interesting characters who were very distinctive. Having read this snippet I think that I would like to start at the begging as it did peak my interest. The narrative is colourful and creative and the dialogue is expressive. My advise start with the fist Episode and continue on if you like it.

It’s not love that conquers all, it’s communication! Seong-jae & Malcolm are both so stubborn. The tension is so strong, one can probably string it between two buildings and stroll across. How much of a distraction is their relationship? The mystery is always intriguing and the relationship thread adds that little kick. Mr McCade slays it as always. Nice job, well done! This was a very quick instalment into the series. It’s basically the calm before the storm. I quite liked the case Malcolm and Seong-Jae are investigating — it was creepy and entertaining, especially as you try to guess who the culprit is (I guessed wrong).
But the main point of this novel is to up the tension between Malcolm and Seong-Jae before the finale. Seong-Jae and Malcolm are drifting apart slowly: Seong-Jae is guilty and Malcolm can tell something is happening, and doesn’t want to push Seong-Jae. There were so many feels and I was right along with both of them getting upset — and wanting to smack them both upside the head.
So the next books are the last in this season, and I’m scared. Crescendo showed that something bad is on its way — Sila — and that there will be no more happy Mal and Seong-Jae for the rest of the season.
But I’m still keen to read!

The author has done it again, eleven books in an I am still invested in the story of Malcolm and Seong-Jae. This entire series is so character driven that I cannot help but become invested in their relationship as they struggle to bridge the distance between them. I am so looking forward to the next book.

Srsly, does every murderer lately have to be a complete psycho? I guess it rather fits with the crime though. McCade knows in our hearts we are all capable of monstrosity when our moral compass is knocked out of us by life. In the case of soldiering society does it to us deliberately. In the case of Yoon and Khalaji, someone started early and damaged Seong-jae’s ability to relate to love. It’s getting in their way now.
They don’t explain the perp quite so well this time because Malcolm is trying to figure out his partner too hard. But they get it done because despite it all, both have intact moral compasses. It’s going to save them, you can smell it.
