An emotional romance with a bit of healing thrown in.
Brogan has walked away from his family for some pretty strong reasons when he stumbles upon another small family trespassing on his land. But Ciara didn’t realize she was trespassing when she and her sister, Orla, camped for the night in their covered wagon. Once he realizes that it’s been a misunderstanding, he invites them to stay on his ranch if Ciara will work for his so they can save up enough money to head back to St. Louis. But the longer they stay and get to know Brogan, the more he thinks he wouldn’t mind if they stayed.
This is the third book in The Kavanagh Brothers series and really needs to be read in the order it is written as it’s about a close-knit family.

I have so enjoyed this series of the Kavanagh brothers of Texas. In this story, Brogan who had retreated to the Maguire Ranch after discovering that he is only a half brother to the other boys and his half sister, Gemma Maguire married his eldest brother. Brogan is like a horse whisperer. As he goes to check on his herd, he comes across a broken fence, missing horses and a wagon sitting on his property. Two woman have been “squatting” on his property for a few days. Ciara and Orla Doyle are sisters who just recently lost their parents while on a wagon trail going west. In the process of burying their parents, they became separated from the rest of the party. Poor Ciara, has no sense of direction and she hopelessly gets lost. Ciara is also a guardian for Orla. Years early, Orla fell from a horse and only has the mental capacity of a fourteen year old. Brogan is a loner but he takes the two women in as their situation is dire.
The road to Brogan and Ciara’s HEA is one that is wonderful to read. This book, like the rest of the series, is written in a dual POV format. That really helps me to relate to the characters so much better. This book was just a little different from the rest. I just felt that something was missing from this one that wasn’t in the others. Also the ending here was just a little more rushed.
This is a sweet, clean Christian-faith romance. There was nothing in this book that would offend anyone.
Emotionally engaging, action packed, heartwarming journey filled with interesting charters, witty dialog, intriguing twists and exciting slow simmering passion… was a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed this sweetly emotional old west adventure.
This is book three of The Kavanagh Brothers series and although it’s my first book in this series I wasn’t lost. But, I will be checking out the first two books very soon. I loved the sweet connection between the sisters Ciara and Orla. Brogan and Ciara have been through a lot in their lives and don’t let people in but there’s something happening between them and there is a spark. This is a sweet romance and I look forward to reading more books by this author.
loved it
Book three of The Kavanagh Brothers series a well written story with a great storyline. I can relate to Ciara as I have no sense of direction, the connection between sisters Ciara and Orla was a joy to see. Brogan had been hurt so much in his live that he had a hard time trusting. I also like the connection between Orla and the horses. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Can one event bring a family back together?
Ms. Ball has written a lovely western with good characters. It is not often where you have characters that have disabilities incorporated into a piece but Ms. Ball did a wonderful job with this book. Left on their own Orla and Ciara have a beautiful bond and Brogan had such a deep and strong inner core. This is a book I would gladly let my granddaughter read. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Ciara was impulsive and quick to take offense. She kept wanting to take off with her sister every time Brogan offended her, which he did often by laughing at her. She admitted she had no sense of direction but still wanted to leave without considering any other options. Brogan was the unwanted bastard and so he has trouble letting people in and accepting love. I loved Ciara’s sister Olga, who even though she spoke with no filter and had trouble understanding had an amazing way with animals. This was a clean historical western romance.
The strength and the determination of those who settled our country out west comes through in this wonderful story of loss and finding the strength to build trust and companionship.
Ciara and her sister Orla ended up on Brogan’s ranch when they got lost trying to make their way back to St Louis. After losing their parents on the wagon train they only had each other.
Brogan was a bitter man, lacking trust due to his family’s betrayals and was building his ranch and raising horses to earn his living.
Reluctantly he takes the two in so they can earn their keep in supplies to continue their journey. But fate steps in and they find much more than ever expected as they heal their wounded spirits and learn to trust. An amazing story that I could not stop once I turned the first page!!
Wonderful book about a family that held secrets and when those secrets are found out they can effect a person in a way that cripples them. Brogan finds out he is not a full blood brother to his siblings and feels less than so he leaves their ranch and strikes out on his own but when two young women find their way onto his land he wants to help them. Ciara and her younger sister Orla have lost their parents on their way west and get lost and end up on Brogans land and even when he does not want them there he will not turn them away but Ciara has already fallen for the handsome Brogan. When there is talk in town about the two women staying with him they decide to leave but Brogan knows he has fallen in love with Ciara and goes after them. Can he get catch up with them and convince them to come back with him?
Wonderful story…
This is Book #3 in the Kavanagh Brothers Series and is Brogan and Clara’s story. Clara and her sister Orla are attempting to return to St. Louis after their parents died along the Oregon Trail. Clara has all the responsibility of the trip as her sister had been damaged in an earlier accident and imagines herself as being 14. The pair takes a wrong turn and end up in Texas and on Brogan’s land. Then the sparks fly. Brogan attempts to help them but Clara stubbornly insists things be done “her” way. The pair have a long way to go and lots to work through if there is to ever be a HEA. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it. It is a real page turner and I know you will enjoy it.
