Steeplechase jockey Christmas “Kit” Fielding has had more than his share of close calls both on and off the course. But trouble hits close to home when a grudge between his family and his sister’s in-laws turns into a blood feud.
The usual Francis formula. I find his novels enjoyable and full of side details. Good read.

Yet another great tale in Dick Francis’s collection and just as eminently readable as his first and last. If you have just a little interest in fast action tales you owe it to yourself to try Francis – you won’t regret it.

Dick Francis, a former jockey for Queen Elizabeth, has the background and experience to bring realism to his stories. He is a great story-teller and makes the world of horse racing, in all its aspects, come alive. I have read all his books with great pleasure.

I try to read every one of his books. Don’t know anything about horse racing but it matters not as you can enjoy the plot and get lost in the story.

I love Dick Francis books. Easy reading, fast paced and I learn more than I ever wanted to know about English racing. This is one of the better books and it will quickly engage you. I only get annoyed that in all his books, I see the ambush long before the protaganist. Think, for crying out loud!
