A stand-alone USA Today bestselling comedy from your favorite snort-laughing duo! LiamThe moment Sadie Matthews walks through the daycare center door, I feel my world tilt in her direction. Again. I fell for her when I was fourteen, and I’m still not over her. Problem: she still thinks of me as a teen she used to babysit. But I’ve learned a few things about pleasing a woman in the last fifteen … a woman in the last fifteen years. I can’t wait to show her how good it could be. I need to move quickly before I lose her again. This is more than a game to me, but I still plan to win.
Sadie
I’ve just survived the worst year of my life. As a single mom of twin toddlers, I don’t have time for a man. I barely have time to finish a thought. Who knew that Liam McAllister would grow up to be so devastating? He’s everything my husband was not: tall, built, and willing to have a tea party with my girls.
I can’t possibly get involved with him. He’s too young for me. Too handsome. But he’s so persuasive…

Q & A about Boy Toy
Q: Is this really a stand-alone?
A: It really, really is. No experience necessary. Jump in anywhere.
Q: Will the age difference between Sadie and Liam vast?
A: Not at all! It’s only weird to Sadie because she’s going through some things. Funny things. And Liam’s take is… You’ll see. His inner teenager has a few things to say about the situation and you will not want to miss them.more
It was so nice for the tables to be turned and the age gap to be the other way around this time. Granted it’s not a huge age gap, only 5 years but enough for Sadie to be concerned about it. I loved Sadie and Liam’s story. She’s the single mum of twin toddlers and he’s the daycare staff that looks after Amy and Kate. He’s had a crush for years and sees this as his second chance. He is everything you would want in a guy and is out to prove to Sadie that he’s everything she needs.
It’s a story with lots of funnies, emotions, real issues, hilarious twin toddlers, one that likes to tackle things wearing a helmet and candlelit bedroom antics. A heartwarming quick read that I couldn’t put down.
I overall enjoyed this book- it was so funny and I’ve fully entrenched in this world that Tanya Eby and Sarina Bowen developed. It was great to see the other characters from this series. Now for the story, Sadie is a single mom who was tossed over by her ex. She has serious issues because of that. Enter Liam, who is a child development expert who is working at the day care where Sadie’s twins are. I adored Liam. He was a sweetheart. The age difference was a non-issue in that she was 36 and he was 29- that doesn’t strike me as much of a difference. The one humor element that was slightly overdone was Liam’s constant reference to his 14 year old self (when he first developed a very strong crush on Sadie, who was his babysitter). Otherwise, I found this really amusing and I absolutely loved the narration by Tanya Eby and Teddy Hamilton. Both are just great at playing the multiple characters.
Well, let me tell you, Sarina Bowen is rocking rom-com with this series! I started laughing on page one and yukked it up throughout the entire story. It was exactly what I needed. If you’ve read Man Hands or Man Card, you’ve met Sarah. Liam is a new character. Well, sort of, Sarah was his siblings’ babysitter when he was fourteen. Obviously, he was too old to have a sitter, but he wasn’t too old to have a crush! This is their story. Liam is all grown up and he’s now almost thirty. Although she’s only about five years older than Liam, Sarah still feels like a cougar. Can he convince her that the age difference doesn’t matter?
If you’re looking for a light-hearted story with wonderful characters and lots of laughs you really need to check this one out! You do not have to read this series in any certain order. The characters are all interconnected, but each book stands on its own. This series is definitely rom-com at its finest!
A rating. This was exactly the book I needed when I read it yesterday. It was fun and funny. The two toddler twins are amazingly well done. I just loved everything about this story, especially Liam…younger, hot guy with a huge soft spot for kids who’s also incredibly intelligent and protective? OMG, yes please! It was a GREAT read!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I wanted to roll Liam up and put him in my pocket! Can I keep him? Please………….. Sadie has had a really rough year. Her husband leaves her for the nanny before the twins are a year old……… Thankfully, Liam, who has had a crush on Sadie since he was fourteen steps back into her life.
What a gentle loving soul. He’s interaction with the twins brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye.
Such a happy ending.
Enjoyed this book. I have all the books in this series. I enjoyed them all.
Not my favorite story from this author but still a solid read.
Boy Toy was 100% engaging. It tells the story of Liam, who is currently the caretaker of Sadie’s twins at their daycare, and he also had a huge crush of Sadie when she babysat his siblings when he was a teenager. Sadie is recently divorced and not feeling that great about herself.
Liam views this run in as a great opportunity to finally get his chance with Sadie, while Sadie feels like she is too old for Liam and ultimatley that he is way too good for her. She is still reeling from her ex-husband’s infidelity and betrayal.
Liam was completely swoon-worthy with Sadie’s daughters and in his attempts to win Sadie over. I found this book to be laugh out loud hilarious at times, but also found the story steamy and sexy and romantic. I think Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby make a fantastic writing duo. I absolutely adored both Liam and Sadie as characters and thought the ending was perfect!!!
Boy Toy is the third book in the Man Hands series by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby. These women are forever on my list as one of the greatest duos! I love a good series where every book makes me laugh out loud, swoon, tear up, sigh, and laugh some more! Sadie is officially a single mother to twin girls and she needs to take them to daycare. Little does she know Liam, a kid she babysat for years ago is working there. And he’s all grown up and filled out and he’s incredibly sexy, smart, funny, sweet and her girls love him. She’s a hot mess. She doesn’t have her pre baby body back yet and she feels like a frumpy old cougar. Liam doesn’t care. He was in love with her as a teenager and now that they are older, he’s not going to let a few years age difference deter him. She’s even more gorgeous now than she was at twenty. Sadie doesn’t want to be attracted to him, but how can she not. He’s not shy about his feelings for her. But can she get involved with a younger man? Even one this hot and fun? Or can they just have fun until he’s ready to move on? Guess what? He doesn’t want to move on! Liam will be her boy toy, but he’s not letting her get away that easily. Not again. He has his work cut out for him. Can he convince Sadie to take a chance on him? Oh my! This book is fantastic! I laughed out loud so much my husband thought I was losing my mind. As a mom of twins, I felt a bond with Sadie and loved the girls! I have lived some of those moments! I loved how much Liam wanted her. He didn’t see her age, her stretch marks, her flaws. He saw her beauty inside and out. She had a hard time believing someone so good looking, fun and smart would like her. Damn her ex! Overall, I loved every word! I laughed, cried, wanted to smack Sadie, swooned, laughed more and then some more! It was great catching up with Brynn, Tom, Braht and Ash. I missed this crew of crazy friends!
First off, I loved the foundation for this story. I just think it could’ve been executed a little better. I fell for Sadie and her two daughters very early on. They’re so adorable and sweet!!! I also really liked Sadie’s friends, Ash and Brynn. Their friendship was the best. I love having strong friendships in my stories.
The down side for me was the mentioning of the age gap on practically every single page. I got so tired of hearing Liam mention his fourteen year old self. It appeared so often that I couldn’t even follow along with the story without waiting on that phrase to pop up.
With the age gap issue aside, it was still a great story. I enjoyed the writing, the characters, the premise of this story, etc. I look forward to reading more from this author. Sadly, this just wasn’t a hit for me.
Disclaimer: This book can be read as a standalone.
Boy Toy by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby is the third hilarious tale in their Man Hands series.
Finally the story of Sadie. A mother of twins and recently divorced, she is now facing going back to work and having to choose an appropriate day care for her precious daughters. When she lucks out and finds one, the man in charge of her daughters’ daily care is non other than a boy she used to babysit herself back in the day. But he is a boy no longer. Soulful eyes, rippled muscles, heartwarming personality. He is everything a girl could wish for, but she used to babysit him for Pete’s sake!
Liam has had a thing for Sadie since the first day he set eyes on her. While she is a few years older than her – she was essentially there to watch his younger siblings as he wasn’t quite old enough yet. At least that is how he viewed it. She has been his dream woman since that first day and when she is newly single and he’s taking care of her twins, he finally sees an opportunity to chase that dream.
Can Sadie get over the fact that she used to babysit Liam? The difference in their ages was a big deal back then but now the difference is negligible – not to mention he is everything she could ever want in a man and a life partner! Enjoy!
GAHHHHHHH I LOVE this series so much, does it have to end??? I LOVE the constant wit and charm from all of these characters! I was so darn excited to see Sadie finally get what she deserves and I ADORE Liam!!!! The best part of this series is we continue to get to see all of the characters grow, and I think it helps make these books so special.
Sadie was everything I’d hoped for in this book! She was feisty, but we also got to see the giggle teenager and vulnerable divorcee in this book. And then we have Liam, we got to see his horny teenager self and him be more of an adult than I think he even knew he was capable of. They was just the perfect mix of everything! I loved how witty their conversations were and how both of them didn’t always know how to act around each other without embarrassing themselves. It was so great! I really hope this isn’t the end!!
Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby did it again. ‘Boy Toy’ is their third book in the ‘Man Hands’ series and just like the rest of the books in the series it is sweet, heartwarming and funny. If you didn’t read the first two books no worries because each book can be read as a standalone.
Sadie Mathews is a beautiful, smart, successful single mom. She has the most adorable 2 years old twins, Kate and Amy. Thanks to her no help, loser ex-husband Decker and her bad luck with nannies, the only way she can work and take care of her girls is to enroll her twins to daycare. What Sadie didn’t see coming is, Liam McAllister, the boy she baby-sat when she was in college, be her daughters’ babysitter. Liam is a dream comes true. He is sweet, sexy, intelligent, insightful and amazing with kids. Ohhh and he has a biggest crush on Sadie since he was 14. I loved how they complete each other. Sadie, Liam and the twins make the ideal family. Even the chemistry is off the charts between Liam and Sadie; Sadie does her best to fight this attraction. She thinks 5 years of age gap is too much. So even dating with Liam is a no go for Sadie, when Liam offers her to end her dry spell and become her boy toy, she accepts the offer. By spending more time with Liam, it is getting harder for Sadie to not to fall in love with him. However, the age difference is not even a problem considering Decker and Liam’s parents. Even though Sadie was a little slow to come around, I am glad she stops fighting against Liam and started fighting for their relationship. What I love the most is how adorable Liam and twins’ relationship. Twins love him and enjoy spending time with him. As always the Brynn, Ash, Sadie trio is amazingly hilarious together and adding a hot charming guy and adorable toddlers to the mix, you get this amazing story.
‘Boy Toy’ is sweet, inspiring, funny, sexy and heartwarming story you will definitely enjoy. I hope Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby continue writing together as a duo because I really enjoy their funny, witty and sizzling hot romance novels very much. And there are too many siblings I want to know more about 🙂 There is Sadie’s sister, Braht’s brother and Liam’s brothers and sister, so I am hoping for at least five more books.
Would I recommend this book: Yes.
Would I re-read this book: Yes.
Would I read future books by these authors: Yes.
Fantastic. My heart melted over this story….5+stars!
I loved this romantic comedy, it was such a delightful story. Just everything about it tickled my inner romantic girly heart.
Liam McAllister and Sadie Matthews have a bit of history. They met when Liam turned fifteen during the time she was hired by his parents to babysit his siblings for the summer. Sadie was twenty then, and going to college. Liam had a crush on Sadie and since then, she’s been his teenage fantasy.
Fast forward, 15 years later Sadie is struggling as a divorced single mom raising her twin daughters. I adored Amy and Kate, they had so much personality. The twins attend the same daycare Liam works. Sadie later discovers Liam is working towards his Ph.D. in child development and his time at the center is temporary. There are sparks between them and Liam decides to finally act on his attraction to Sadie. He’s the guy who’s going to break her dry spell. For Sadie, Liam is the “boy toy” she needs in her life to distract her from the daily grind of being mom and supporter.
Though Sadie thinks she’s in it for the sex and fun, Liam’s been in love with her since he was 15 and he is determined on winning her trust and love. But can Sadie trust what her heart wants? I adored Liam. He’s both smart and fun, a real man who’s strong, sexy and kind. He’s protective of the girls and Sadie. I want my own Liam McAllister. Liam and Sadie have a great connection.
Boy Toy is sassy and witty and filled with humor. It has melt-your-heart moments that reduced me to goo. I cheered for Sadie and Liam and the resolution to their dilemma and adored the romantic ending. Sarina Bowen comes through with a heartfelt romantic, and humorous story that will stay with you long after you finish reading. A definite must read. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Fun read
Great story with great characters.
4 1/2 out of 5 stars
This book was so fun. It was hard to put down because I couldn’t wait to see what crazy was going to come next! Sadie runs into Liam at daycare for her twin daughters. She hasn’t seen Liam in years and doesn’t even recognize him as the same scrawny kid she babysat one summer. Liam however, doesn’t have any trouble remembering his teenage crush. He’s loved Sadie since he was 14 and too old for a babysitter, but thankful his parents’ got him one anyway!
I enjoyed the banter and the crazy thoughts of Sadie and her two best friends. I thought Liam was THE MOST amazing guy! He was perfection – mostly because he was so intuned with and fond of little kids! I couldn’t help but cheer loudly every time something went right for this couple.
The authors did a great job of creating characters and a storyline that felt so real and drew me into their lives so completely. This is definitely a book I highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun read with just enough drama to keep you involved, but really just a great story about love and healing.
*** I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***
I love this series so much!!!! It’s the perfect balance of funny and emotional. I can’t get enough!
Sadie is still picking up the pieces of life after her ex-husband cheating and leaving her for the nanny. When she enrolls her twins in daycare, she sees Liam, the boy she used to babysit for, who’s definitely no longer a boy. Liam was 14-years-old when Sadie babysat for his family but he loved her and wanted nothing more than for her to see him as more than a kid.
I loved the progression of Sadie and Liam’s relationship. Even though she was hesitant to pursue anything with him, Liam was so perfect. He showed her how amazing they could be together and that she’s better than anything her ex-husband may have believed about her. I need everyone in this series to get a HEA!! I never want it to end!
Oh how I loved this book. Liam was luscious. Sadie was an awesome heroine. & those twin girls. Omg. How cute & hysterical. Lol. This was my favorite of the series. Absolutely perfect
Boy Toy is the third Man Hands title by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby. I absolutely love this series and it feels like the latest becomes my new favorite.
Boy Toy is Sadie and Liam’s story. I was laughing from the start and continued to do so many more times while reading.
Bowen and Eby hit the mark with a fun, sexy romance that will keep the pages turning until you reach the final page. Boy Toy doesn’t disappoint and can totally be read as a standalone. I’m looking forward to whatever this writing duo delivers next.
