They found exactly what they weren’t looking for.Logan:I had almost everything I’d ever wanted—career, friends, my own easy life in Sawyer’s Ferry, Alaska. I’d given up on filling in the missing pieces long ago. Now, I was more than satisfied with the perfectly practiced, perfectly predictable routine I’d created for myself. At least until Jackson Daley walked into my clinic. Jackson: Working the …
Jackson:
Working the rigs is temporary. Everything in my life is. Jobs, cities, and the guys I take home—nothing sticks, and that’s exactly the way I like it. After four years in Alaska, I’m itching to pick up and leave. I’m ready to move on and start over someplace new, until a one-night stand I can’t seem to shake has me breaking all my own rules.
Now as I get closer to walking away, my reasons for leaving seem blurrier than ever, and for the first time in my life, there could be something worth staying for.

Gage and Holden found their happiness in book one, and this time it’s Logan’s turn. When he an Jackson meet, the two are immediately in lust. What they expect to be a one-night stand keeps being repeated and extended. As the men keep meeting up for steamy nights, they also start to become closer emotionally. Logan and Jackson don’t see the future of their relationship the same, and they are heartbreaking in their reactions. They both have to make some tough decisions.
I was satisfied with the way this terrific story ended, and I’m anxious to see more from this couple and a few other characters introduced here. Sawyer’s Ferry is a wonderful series, and I highly recommend it!
This ticked every one of my boxes; two strong alpha males hit by a force of attraction so strong it knocks them on their asses; both walking into a one night stand with no expectations and neither of them not wanting any more out it but to slake their lust and move on. That was their modus operandi after all; hit it and quit it… but Logan and Jackson hadn’t factored on the relentless and growing attraction between them. This story had everything required for a great read. I adored Jackson and Logan; we got a front row seat to two amazing men falling in love. It was hard fought though because neither one of them walked into it expecting the depth of the feelings they were experiencing, and the fear of these feelings was testament to how foreign the concept of love was to the both of them. It was amazing to watch them battle against their feelings but to know, ultimately, their salvation was in each other. It just took one of them to be brave enough to jump first.
This was such a fantastic book, and one of my favourite reads this year, without a doubt. Cate Ashwood is a go-to author for me now and I can’t wait to see what comes next in the series.
Great installment in the series!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book two in the Sawyer’s Ferry series. It’s not really necessary to read book one, Alaska, first but I would personally say you should. Gage and Holden play a huge part here. And their story is really rather good too!
Jackson walks into Logan’s clinic and sparks fly. I mean, even Logan was thinking about going against his doctor/patient rules. But Logan passes Jackson’s case to Holden and all bets are off. But both men have a no-repeat rule. So just why are they going for round two, three and more?
Logan is Gage’s partner at the hospital and best friend. We met him in Alaska. I’m glad he got his story!
It is again told from both men’s point of view in the first person. Not my favourite, but Ms Ashwood seems to somehow negate that fact and I really am enjoying this series.
I loved the fact that this . . . Non-relationship kinda creeps up on both the guys. Its very much a slow burn in regards to the emotions involved for them both. Steam and passion? Immediate and powerful but the emotions creep up on them and it takes a while for them to see. Loved that they both fought it, hard.
Loved how Logan made Jackson admit to his feelings but not what got them to that point! Scary, I was worried!
We never did get to the story about how Jackson has a gunshot wound from 6 years ago, but it’s only when typing this up that I realised that!
I gave Alaska 4 stars, but I found myself far more engaged with Logan and Jackson, than I was with Gage and Holden, so. . .
5 full and shiny stars

The love and sex surrounding him with his two best friends is bringing out the “what if’s” in Logan even though he’s trying hard to deny it. Never in the market for more than a night of mutual release, he’s generally happy and fulfilled. At least that’s what he tells himself. It isn’t until he’s struck speechless by a tall, dark, and seriously hot patient in his exam room that those denials sound more like denials rather than perfectly reasonable justifications. Jackson is in the same boat. Hookups only, rarely goes back for seconds, and keep moving; his way of life has suited him fine so far and he’s not looking to change anything up any time soon. But after indulging just once, it starts something deeper than either man ever expected and if they can’t find the courage to admit their feelings they might lose the one person that could give their heart a true home.
If you’re looking for seriously hot chemistry right from the start, look no further. Jackson is fierce and hot, Logan is just as passionate but we all know that hot sex does not a relationship make. I enjoyed their texting conversations and the way their accidental slips in openness moved them slowly into relationship territory. It was a bit difficult to see them both, but mainly Jackson, downplaying and dismissing the depth of what they were feeling just because it wasn’t what was planned or expected.
Getting them on the same page took almost losing everything and I admire Logan’s courage. While the reunion was fraught with worry I think that it should have been the other person to make the effort. One of them already laid themselves bare emotionally and the one who tried to shut it down was the one who really needed to be the one to ask, to verbally admit what their heart truly wanted. Never before had they felt the freedom or fear of asking for what they wanted and the words of reconciliation should have come from them. I’m not upset about how it played out, I just wish it were slightly different is all.
Both men were worth getting to know, though I feel like I could have gotten to know Jackson a bit better. Especially where he begins to make peace with his less-than-stellar upbringing, we’re lacking that part of his evolution. I enjoyed this story and definitely liked the side characters. The cast, especially the sweetheart that is Witt, will definitely bring me back for more. There was quite a bit of happiness to bolster the passion that seemed to carry both men for most of the story. I’m glad there was a bit of a balance there and I’m super interested in continuing this series as this is my first foray into Sawyer’s Ferry. I’ll definitely be back for more!
Bishop Ridge is a great addition to the Sawyer’s Ferry series. Logan and Jackson have an immediate connection that they try to convince themselves is only physical. Before you know it texts turn into daily calls. They want to see more and more of each other. I loved watching these two fall in love without either of them realizing it had happened.
This story grabbed me from page one and I read it in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for more in this series.
I liked this book immensely. The immediate attraction between Logan and Jackson is evidenced with hot, sizzling chemistry that is sustained throughout the read…whether face to face, sexting or as phone calls. The writing is as excellent as I have come to expect from this author. Character development, descriptions of scenery, work places and homes all make this story real. The secondary characters like Witt, Spence, Ollie and Frankie all add to this and make me impatient to read more of this series.
My one gripe is that this book didn’t have as much of a plot as Alaska did. It’s mainly Logan and Jackson both believing they aren’t looking for anything serious and how their relationship then develops. Luckily, though, their personalities and the heat were enough to keep my attention from start to finish, with no moments of boredom at all.

4 stars- Bishop Ridge is the second book in the Sawyer’s Ferry series. While there is an overlap of characters, I think these books read just find as standalones. Overall, I found this a light-hearted enjoyable read that boasted fun characters and dialogue, while keeping the angst to a minimum. As in the first book, the immediate sparks that fly between the heroes lead to a lasting connection, but it didn’t feel too much like insta-love in this case. The easy, unassuming rhythm of the book was reflected in the pace and writing style, keeping Bishop Ridge light while offering up a sufficient amount of character depth to keep me invested.
I liked Logan as a secondary character in Alaska and was thrilled when his character was equally likable as one of the heroes in Bishop Ridge. Better yet it offered up something different from the previous match. Although Jackson and Logan are just as cute and lively as the first couple, this ended up being more of an opposites attract romance, thus setting it apart from the other book in the series. The romance between Logan and Jackson also felt a bit more drawn out than in the first book and I found it more believable in general. And of course there’s a good level of heat between the men, delivering a solid physical chemistry that enhanced their emotional connection.
Thus far I’ve really enjoyed the Sawyer’s Ferry series. The town is eccentric and interesting and the characters have a quick wit that make me eager to return for more. If you’re looking for a lighter read that still has character, I’d certainly recommend giving this a try.
