From USA Today Best Selling Author, Ali Parker… Everyone seems to be in love but me. Why is that? Relationship after relationship, and nothing. I’m always the bridesmaid, but never the bride. It’s getting old. Fast. And just when I start to give up, he walks into my life. Sexy, strong, older. The father of one of my students. It’s against the rules to feel the way I do about him, but I … students.
It’s against the rules to feel the way I do about him, but I can’t help myself.
A single father with a sexy demeanor and deep pockets.
But that’s not what gets me about him.
It’s the way he looks at me. As if he already owns me.
The relationship can be our little secret.
Or can it?
This is book 1 of a continued series. It will end in a cliffhanger. You will need to buy the other books to continue the story.

So I was liking this book as an easy read with a great Older man younger woman story until the end when I was hit with one heck of a cliffy. When I have a moment, I will be reading book 2.
Frustrated and angry to be left hanging with no conclusion.
This book is about a gentleman, a little older, who has lost his wife a few years ago, and now has a daughter that’s a teenager. Enough said about that because you know how a teenager will have treat her dad if she gets a chance and he is running a business and has not given her all the attention she thinks she deserves all the years since her mother has been gone. He has not dated all these years and it has affected his daughters bringing up an her actions in school and how she reacts with her friends. Finally after all these years, Andrew, her father, meets a lady, Lanie, a teacher, at her school. Ugh Oh! The ending will blow your mind. Now you will not be able to wait to grab the next book!
fast moving great characters just love this
Looking forward to next book in series. Couldn’t put it down
Didn’t realize it was a cliff hanger
I love this book the whole series was great. A must read for romance..
Wish I didn’t have to buy 4 books to get the complete story
The book was good but I hate books that at the end with a cliff hanger And say to be continued. They make you have to buy the next book to find out how it ended. The next one does the same thing. No thank you on any more of her books.
Should have been two books instead of four. I didn’t read the last book.
My Father’s Best Friend was an okay book. I had my hopes up expecting more taboo. Instead, the first half of the book seemed pretty G-rated to me. The book was well written, but the characters could use more development. Lanie seemed a little flat and undeveloped. Erica, the best friend, was funny and the best friend anyone would want to have. Andrew and Raven, father and daughter, had a tumultuous relationship which thanks to Lanie was starting to improve. Ali does a great job of depicting grief and the long road it can take to improve. I’ve read Ali Parker before and her books are usually 5 stars and great. I would recommend this author to a newbie.
This is one epic story in more ways than one. Yes, it’s much longer than the average romance these days. But more importantly this story is epic in it’s own right. High school counselor,, Lanie, calls a parent teacher meeting with Andrew Marx and her whole world gets turned upside down. I enjoyed this story and the writing was as wonderful as I’ve come to expect from Ms. Parker, yet to me it felt a little too long. Some elements felt like they weren’t necessary. But on the whole this is a very enjoyable book. I request a copy of this book so I could post a review.
Absolutely loved this book! Andrew is a wealthy, widowed father raising his teenage daughter on his own. He works constantly to provide for her the best he can. When Raven, his daughter, gets sent to the new school counselor, Lanie, there is an attraction he feels for her that he hasn’t felt for anyone since his wife. Lanie is younger than him but they don’t feel that is an issue. The issue starts when they realize that she is actually his friend’s daughter. Then an accident involving Raven he pushes Lanie away. Will he see that the love they share is strong enough before it’s too late or did he push her too far away already? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
