Assassin’s Choice – a review by Rosemary Kenny
The assassin of the title is Altermichan, a hybrid immortal and executioner for The Council, hired to eliminate the leaders of their enemies the sables and the wolves, to end the war that’s spreading to their own realm.
Also involved in these events is Tish, a Seer and a Native American Indian Shaman, Ash. Although Tish ostensibly works for the Council, foreseeing any future events that might prevent their current tyrannical rule. Yet once she meets Matisse and Gabriel, the intended victims, she realises it’s not them who has malign intentions – but Cantrix her boss.
With mature scenes and themes, it’s for over 18s only, but that doesn’t mean you won’t love the book overall…try it for yourself and see if you agree!
I liked the twist to the triangle. Strong female heroine. Story was just over average, but not enough for me to crave the sequel…
This book had a storyline filled with intrigue, suspense, action and drama. It was an interesting read that had characters whose stories piqued my interest and made it an enjoyable read.

I loved this story, it pulled me in and held me in its grasp and wouldn’t let me go. I couldn’t put it down and enjoyed every last bit of it. The plot had a clear goal in mind and was maintained through the whole story. The characters were different and unique from each other, creating a diverse cast. There were twists and turns and the main female unravels what is really going on in the paranormal world and deciding the best way to handle what was going on. The end left me crying for the sequel because I just want to know what happens next. I want more.
I give this a five out of five stars. The plot was clear and the characters were a diverse bunch. It was well written and left me begging for more. I look forward to the sequel and reading more works from this author.

Amazing story. Don’t start unless you can read it in one sitting. The story grabs you, holds you tight and moves quickly. This is a new series by an author I’ve enjoyed in the past and she continues to produce stories that are complex and compelling. You’ll meet characters you love and some you hate. In this case there is more going on than first appears and Trish, our heroine, is on the front lines. She has been sent by the ruling council to prevent a war that a seer has predicted by killing the two leaders that will start it. However Trish is more than she seems and knows there’s more going on. Trust her to keep everyone guessing while she pursues her own agenda. She is tough, smart and more than she knows with her own thoughts on the situation. In spite of a spy for the council, mysteries she continues to uncover and a prophecy that shows her the way, the story moves quickly and you won’t want to miss a sentence. VERY eagerly awaiting the next book. Definitely a 5 star read (and I’d give it more for originality and the underlying nuances). (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
