NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR, ELLE CASEY, brings readers Book 1 of 4 in the YA Dystopian APOCALYPSIS Series, suitable for older teens and adults.
KAHAYATLE. My name’s Bryn Mathis. I’m seventeen years old, and I live in a neighborhood outside of Orlando, Florida. I live alone because my dad died almost a year ago, along with all the other adults in the world. I’m almost out of … other adults in the world. I’m almost out of food and the gangs of kids that roam around my town are getting more vicious by the day. It’s time for me to leave and find another place to live… a place where I can find food and shelter… a place where they won’t be able to find me. Alone, it might have been possible, but now I’ve got company. I’m worried that I don’t have what it takes to get from here to my final destination, and I have no idea what might be waiting for me when I get there.
Content Warning: Mild violence and some foul language. Meant for older Young Adult readers (age 15+). This book is in the Dark Science Fiction / Horror / Post-Apocalyptic genres, featuring teen characters only.

Well written (only a few type=o’s), a real page turner
I started with the first book and had to keep going. I did get the whole series and I loved it. There are parts that bring tears to your eyes and parts that make you happy. She writes a spinning tale that keeps you reading.
Loved it. Great young adult read
I really liked this book (got it for free) and was anxious to read the next one so I bought it. I was really enjoying it as well until the language got to be too much. I didn’t bother buying the third one because I wasn’t going to read through all the filthy language. I understand the situation the author was writing about would have been very difficult, but the language still wasn’t needed in my opinion. The storyline was good enough to stand on its own without the filth.
I downloaded this book a while back, but kept putting off reading it thinking it would be like other dystopian society type books, but boy was I wrong. This book captivated me throughout. The main characters were well developed, and their reactions to different scenarios were realistic. It was suspenseful and emotional with some minor romance. The desperation of these teens was easily felt through the attacks, scavenging, and survival instincts that were well told by the writer. The only complaint I have is that at the end of the book, it started getting slow and then finally when something was possible it ends. Not sure if I will continue on with this series since I felt the writer did draw out the end, just putting in words to get the count up, not sure how much farther she can take this.
I was really hooked into the book in the first few pages. The characters, situations, twists and turns were unexpected, but very possible. Ellie Casey has created a horribly realistic dystopian world.
Fun and creative writing, great character development and sense of place make this a very worthwhile read!
Gripping and overwhelmingly entertaining page after page!
I don’t typically read this type of book. I am SO glad I did! This entire series was SO fabulous and I am STILL thinking about these characters a LONG time after reading it!
This book was great. I love the characters and the fact that the main female character is not a pushover without being unrealistically superpowered is great. The action scenes are very descriptive and you are able to picture the scene perfectly. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Amazing book! Will most likely be purchasing the other books in the series.
