From the world of Rylee Adamson and the Elemental Series comes a heroine with nothing to lose and everything to prove….“My name is Pamela, and I am a witch who has no equal.”Or so I thought. It has been three years since the Destroyer sundered our world. The land is no longer whole, but broken into pieces, most technology gone, and the continents shattered into an unrecognizable place.New … unrecognizable place.
New monsters have risen from the depths, adding danger on top of danger. Through it all the humans fight to survive as they compete not only with the supernaturals for food and resources, but their own kind as well.
And me? The caravans of humans I pass, they look to me to save them.
Only I am not the witch I once was. Bound by those who fear my power and my bloodline, I’m lucky if I can light a match with my magic, never mind protect anyone but myself.
Now, the darkness in me rises, offering me all that I want. Freedom from the chains I wear, and the power to make everything right. But if I embrace the darkness I will face a cost I could never have imagined…

“Caravan Witch” Questing Witch Book 2
more
I can honestly say I was not prepared for this book! I love Shannon Mayer’s stories, she has an exceptional way of hooking you and not letting go the entire book or series and Aimless Witch is no exception. The Questing Witch series is a continuation of the character Pamela from Mayer’s Rylee Adamson series and for those of us who have read and waited for this we certainly are not disappointed with her debut book on Pamela’s individual series. We find Pamela on her own with only her familiar Oka, an orange tabby cat, trying to find her way in a world amidst its destruction. Everything that was known and familiar before the Rending has now been turned upside down and every which way but straight. Now Pamela and Oka are trying to figure out what this new life means for the young powerful witch, but it won’t be that easy. With no rules and no laws and no one to protect her but herself and her cat, Pamela faces cruel humans and powerful supernaturals that only wish to see her dead, when she joins a Caravan transporting young children, women and men trying to get to a safe haven she will be faced with a choice, does she show them who she truly is or does she leave to protect herself from possible heartbreak or even death? This new adventure is full of surprises, some that will hit you right in the feelings, and all that will leave you wanting more! Can’t wait to see what’s coming next in Pamela’s new world.
The latest book in the Rylee/Elemental saga is Aimless Witch. The story of Pamela 3 years after the rendering of the veils in Destroyer. The world is nothing like we remember it, and neither is Pamela. She’s grown into herself and we find that she can handle the many changes in the world.
As a long-time reader of Shannon Mayer, I was waiting with rapt attention for this to come out, and I wasn’t disappointed. Every book is better than the last, and this is no exception. Immerse yourself in good reading with fully realized characters that make you want to root for them. If you haven’t read the others, start here, you can always go back and start the others while you wait for the next book.
Aimless Witch is Pamela’s story after she broke open the Veil that Rylee Adamson helped close with her lifes essance meaning her blood. The hope for belonging is always in Pam’s heart and soul as she searches for a friend. Oka is Pamela’s familiar , a cat and her character is spunky and she can shift into a tiger.
I loved reading this book for its action and the surprises around every turn of its pages… I can not wait to see what happens with Pamela in the next book
Having been introduced to this young witch in another of the author’s series, it was exciting to follow her solo journey as she seeks her own truths.
I just love all of her books. This series is well worth the read.

Aimless Witch: Questing Witch #1
Pamela is struggling with her decision to aid Larkspur in destroying the World, she’d broken the Veil releasing the Lynchpin which set it all in motion. The true Mother Goddess agreed with the course of action but Pam was still struggling under the sheer weight of destruction and loss of life, human & supernatural, that it caused!! She’d tried to help protect a young couple, their new born & a teen girl but the Elementals stepped in & stripped her powers placing bracelets on her that blocked her ability to touch her 5 elements! After she’d come around from that attack her tribe were under & attack but she had no magic or weapons to fight with. They slaughtered them all & 3 years later she still hadn’t forgiven herself for the failure!
She & Oka, near starvation, come upon a river full of fish. They are big, full of nasty big teeth, but filling. A caravan of human’s including a few children arrive. Oka encourages her to join them. Oka knew Pam’s dark magic, from her Mothers bloodline, was trying to take her over & wanted her to connect with her love & compassion but especially her drive to protect again! She stays on the periphery, not wanting her heart to break if she cares for any of them & they die, in the lawless & brutal place their new World has become. They eventually arrive at a crossroads for Pam, she needs to either step up & protect the kids, especially, or strike out alone, on her aimless wandering again!
I found this pretty dark & repetitive unfortunately. Pam seems to give in to her weaker self for much of this book. Relying on stubbornness & Rylee’s fight training in constant survival mode, when she could have gone back to her family, fear is ruling her though!! There are some wonderful characters we get to meet. Some old friends (ish) pop up too. I hope the entire series isn’t this dire! It’s really well written, I’m just not loving the subject matter.

To be honest, I didn’t finish. Nothing I did could make myself finish reading this book. Not the level of writing I was expecting
I won the audiobook from Mayer herself, and after reading some of her other books and finding they were not quite my cup of tea; I decided to give this one a chance after I had finished some of my other favorite series. I was looking for something new and different; and Mayer definitely delivered. I have not finished the Rylee series, and have not read any of the Elemental series which I know is in the same world, so there could have been more that I picked up on, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The book is dark like so many of Mayer’s books, but it was refreshing not to have something that constantly focused on the sunshine and rainbows. I also enjoyed reading about a witch who constantly faces adversity and how she chooses to either fight through it or rise above it. There were parts that were certainly monotonous and found myself not listening as intently as I do other books, but it did an admirable job of reeling me back in. By the end of the book, I was absolutely hooked, and will be either continuing the series, or figuring out the official reading order I should be using (haha).
This book is exceptional, guessing game to very last pages,,characters beautifully drawn and unforgettable , lovely descriptions and haunting, stays on your mind.
Kept me interested so that I read entire series
I was just stunned, absolutely stunned, at the end of this one. It’s not often this happens, but it did. Am I happy with the ending? Yes, just not in the way I expected. I admit that Pam is not my favorite character, but I’ve grown fond of her over the books. This ending is fitting. I really can’t say much as I don’t want to spoil it, but I’m hoping we’ll see more of her in the next books coming and maybe change her outcome slightly. It was wonderful seeing Rylee, Liam, etc. and I can’t wait to see more. Read this book and go through all the emotions like I did! I highly recommend this book and was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.
Series starts off well, but quickly becomes formulaic and predictable.
I love all the books in the series, I really like the dialogue and the characters.
I said I would never read another book of Shannon’s after the last one that broke my heart. I lied, I read this and fell in love all over again. This time Pam is grown up, and feels like she is all alone. She doesn’t know that there is someone out there trying to move the world to find her. This book broke me, put me back together and then kicked me again…and I would do it all over again!
This book was nothing short of amazing. I loved Pamela in the Rylee books, so I was super excited when this book was announced and it didn’t disappoint!
This book has me turning the pages quickly! Shannon never fails to have epic fight scenes. I love the mental game as well!! Must read!
I love this author. Best read in order.
As usual Shannon delivers an action packed book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This book has witches, werewolves, incubus, and other supernatural beings. It has romance but is still action packed.
Wonderful series! Highly recommended! I promise you won’t regret it. It’s a spin off from another series (Rylee Adamson and the Elemental Series) and you don’t have to read that one first, although I highly recommend it. Anything by Shannon Mayer is worth the read!
I really love Shannon Mayer and her books, Here is another fabulously written book by her. The way she can weave her words into a story to keep me captivated is just really Awesome….. Yes I highly recommend this book!
