Just because Kate ‘Middleton’ McGrath, wants a man to call ‘daddy’ in bed doesn’t mean—Oh, you stopped reading. Cool. Kate gets it. Kinks aren’t for everyone. Hell, they’re probably not for Mr Henderson, her grumpaholic boss. She really shouldn’t have crush on him, but the man is just so goddamn stern. Sure, a lot of that comes down to ‘being her boss,’ but still, it feels like there might be … might be something there.
Tyler Henderson is a golden boy who’s lost his shine. He’s old, his dream career is over, his fiancée’s left him. Now all the former firefighter can do is try and bury his troubles in paperwork and hard liquor. He says ‘try’ because he can’t get Middleton out of his head long enough to wallow properly. He’s not going anywhere near the girl. HR issues aside, he’s done with sweetness and things don’t come sweeter than a cupcake-baking engineer who knits her own hats.
A case of mistaken identity causes Kate and Ty’s attraction to give way to blistering sex. They have more in common—and more to lose—than either of them realized. When it comes to unreasonable attraction you can rarely change your mind but can you act your age?

This book is masterful. I love it so much. Read if you like kink done right.
This is a book I’d normally be embarrassed to admit I love solely because of the kink, but fuck it – I’m in love with this book and I could rave about it for hours. It’s so much more than just a kink, so don’t let that drive you away (it almost did for me!) I don’t recall the last book I read that showcased ADHD to the point of subtly incorporated it into a supporting character and, as someone with Kate’s exact inattentive subtype of ADHD, I was blown away. I relate to Kate, again, more than I’d like to admit and was happy to see her progress and stand up for herself in the final act.
The only aspect I didn’t care for was the Maria subplot. I could understand the importance behind incorporating it (to showcase Kate’s submissive tendencies), but I feel like her relationship with Ty explains it pretty well. Anyways.
Even though I love this book to death, it always leaves me feeling heartbroken and hollow for a few days after finishing despite its happy end, but that’s the sign of an incredible book and incredible art.
Eve did it again. She’s an exceptional author. She has a unique style and an even unique and awesome imagination.
I’ve read all her books, and all of them are unique, funny, hot, very well written and with an amazing story and subjects. She does a wonderful job. Her characters are the best.
She became one of my favorite authors. And every time I get a message from her I am so excited. I don’t need to read the blurb, or for her to ask…I just say yes. I know what she is capable of. I don’t have enough words of praise for her and I am very honored that she gives me this chance every time, to read her new book.

After her last books (with the female dominant) don’t get me wrong, I liked the books, but they are nothing compared to this one, or with one where the guy is the Dom. I like it much more. This story right here was pure dementia, in a good way, from all points of view, the subject of the story, the characters, everything.
Kate is the sweetest thing. She’s 25 years but looks like 17.
She’s sweet, girly, funny, sexy, smart, young (too young, some say), had a rough childhood, and she has an account on Kinkworld. She has a Daddy kink.
One misunderstanding brings them together. This way of discovering each other. Although they fight the attraction between them, they can’t stay away from each other.
Ty is 45 years old and he is a sex god.
Dominant, arrogant, authoritative, rude, sexy, and he is so hot that “everyone had a crush on Tyler Henderson, woman, gay man, straight man”.
Kate had a crush on him since she met him on her first day on the job, two years ago. But as long and as much she desired him, as much he avoided and ignored her. Even to the point of making her think that he hates her. He’s simply the first-class A-Hole and he’s Kate’s boss.
Kate was a great character. Weak at times, but most of all, strong. She knew what she wanted and went after it.
I hated Ty most of the time because he was a real jerk. He didn’t treat her bad, no, Daddy was so goooood. But he was afraid of what people may think of their relationship and afraid he will get his heart broke again. He kept her like she was “his dirty little secret”.
I’m very glad Kate woke him up. Loved her letter to him, actually both letters, and especially how he crawled.
So…if you think this book is like the other “Daddy” books, you are so very very wrong.
This book it’s like the Daddy of all Daddy books. So don’t waste any more time, and just read this masterpiece.
This book took me totally by surprise. I have been intrigued by the DD/lg dynamic, but so many of these books go way too far to the “icky” side of this and don’t focus on the feelings, wants, and needs behind it; the why of this type of relationship. This is the first book I’ve read that didn’t demean the relationship or the people who engage in that lifestyle. This is the first non-icky “Daddy” book I’ve read. Definitely give this book a read if the DD/lg relationship doesn’t freak you out. It’s a really good book.
I bought this off a recommendation of a group I am in and god bless them. Seriously, they deserve sainthood. Though the church may have issues with the story… but I sure do not. This was magical and heart breaking and cloyingly sweet and deceptively dirty and now I need a shower.
Eve did something with a very svelte hand. This is not your normal kink book. This is something that you pick up and don’t put it down until you finish the book or pass out from too much left handedness.
This was breathtaking in the best of ways. I cannot wait to devour more from Eve.
you know five-star books are like buses there’s none for a while then two come along at once and this is how I felt about Act Your Age By Eve Dangerfield.
I really Adored this story, not that I have a daddy fetish, I just absolutely love age gap romances and if you’re not hurting anyone, whatever floats your boat is what I say.
Whats one persons eww is another’s aww.
I myself have been with my partner for twenty-two years we have four boys and with a twenty year age gap it really can work, I am living proof of that, and yes originally he thought he was too old for me too sweet.
So you can see why I devoured Act your Age It Was sexy and hot but also unbelievably sweet, you could feel the emotion rebounding off the page and I fell in love with both Tyler and kate.
I was rooting for these two flawed individuals all the way, like a one-woman cheer team.
So a brief description of Act your age is we have Kate ‘Middleton’ McGrath she is twenty-five and has a massive crush on her grumpy bad tempered boss, she also has a bit of a taboo fetish she wants someone to call daddy in the bedroom.
Enter Tyler Henderson Kate’s boss, ex-firefighter, dumped by his fiancee, feels his life is on the skids, forty-five and feeling sorry for himself, he’s also a massive grouch, well to kate anyway.
Well, what starts as a purely physical endeavour between two consenting adults with a certain kinky itch to scratch, quickly escalates to what neither party ever expected.
So phew the heat factor between these two is off the hook, a case of spontaneous combustion.
There really wasn’t a thing I disliked about act your age it ticked every single one of my boxes and more.
I also adored All Kate/Princess Bleach’s Roller derby buddies, I thought they were a great comic addition to this tale.
Rapunzel was a firm fave from me so funny, I especially loved how she referred to Tyler as Dexter.
That had me chuckling away.
Even Maria, when I could work out her vibe had her place here.
Really fabulous character and world building.
That’s another thing I really liked about this book it seemed real, it wasn’t easy and brushed under the carpet there were big obstacles just as you would experience in real time.
Act your Age was so much more than a bit of kinky fiction it had a very deep vibe to it.
There were all sorts of issues running beneath the surface that pulled this for me into another league.
These two lovers laid bare all their vulnerabilities and came with an immense amount of baggage.
This made you feel oh so much closer to their story in all its glory.
And finally, if you are put off by the daddy vibe, don’t be this was a beautifully told love story and it didn’t feel icky at all.
In fact, it was very romantic in places and the emotion felt so real.
Give it a chance you might surprise yourself
So If you’re looking for a read that will get you all hot and bothered but also make you go awww
This is the story for you just make sure you’ve got a cold shower ready for aftercare.
Thank you to the Author for providing me with an ARC of Act Your Age. This is my own honest unbiased opinion.

Ok, Wow. I Feel Dirty. And It Feels Good.
Very different than other daddy kink books I’ve read. Dangerfield explores the Daddy Dominant niche of BDSM with respect and insight. Kate and Ty’s shared predilection serves as the frame within which they each find what satisfies them and, in turn, how they satisfy each other.
Usually in books like this, the alpha male is confident and experienced in his dominance, while the girl is unaware or unaccepting of her kink, and I appreciated the switch here. The emotional arcs of the characters – the ways they grew and became better – were beautiful and compelling and pitch-perfect. Dangerfield built the story and revealed the people in it with poetic style and unexpected humor, which made for a book I couldn’t put down.
Other highlights: roller derby girls, Australian slang, and possibly the most humorous author acknowledgements ever.
