Absolution (Tribari Freedom Chronicles #4), my twenty-seventh (407 pages/9-hour 15-minute) read from author Rachel Ford. No matter the genre a Rachel Ford book can be counted on to be entertaining & enjoyable. “I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.” I look forward to reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
What a great finish to a series. Wonderful characters with distinctive personalities that engage you in the story. I recommend reading the whole series to get the full scope of the story. The storyline is complex with great twists, surprises, plenty of action and unexpected twists that keep the reader interested until the end. This is a well written, very creative book and series that plunges the reader into other worlds and societies. Changes in the characters and as a result improvements for a whole society requires great sacrifices and you will need to read the book to see if they are willing to do so.
Good story continued. It does rely on character development from the previous stories. Hints in the story foretell the outcome but I still stayed up way too late to finish it.

People come together to restart an empire – 4 stars
Starting with pre-revolution era brutality, greed and mismanagement we have a front row seat in the provisional government. Idealism and good intentions often result in inability to govern. Many life topics from mundane to serious are considered at length.
After the revolution, we see new leaders try for great things and old leaders try to enrich themselves.
We watch the inexperienced representatives learn their trade. Two strong female characters, Nikia Idan – pregnant by a now-martyred husband – and Governor Nees – a mature elected official who aligns herself with the common people.
Two men come to the fore as people of concern, Admiral Lenksha – a ruthless enforcer for the old order – and Davis Telari – who wants to be the new Supreme Leader.
Doctor Kel is a physician who holds the people (and the plot) together.
The characters seem credible. There are scenes or battle and courtship which proceed with fits and starts just as in real life.
I enjoyed the relationships in the making and the politicians wanting to do good but often arguing about inane, unimportant details.
This novel could be the basis of a blockbuster motion picture.
What an outstanding ending to a great series! This final chapter in the Tribari Freedom Chronicles is full of action and intrigue that will keep you reading way past your bedtime. The entire series makes you feel like you are one of the characters, living, fighting and dying for the greater good of all. There are hero’s, villains and then there’s politicians and plot twists that put them all into play. I’m kind of sad that this series is over but, look forward to Rachel’s next world to escape into. Buy this series, you will love it!
The battle continues in this installment of the story. There is plenty of drama and action as good and evil battle each other. This book held my interest from start to finish, it’s a page-turner and an exciting read.

“Politics is a blood sport. I don’t trust people who enjoy it.” Chapter 1
Set aside two days (or one extremely long day) for this well-written PG15 space opera in which the battle between Good and Evil is not fully resolved but there are temporary victories (I am just not saying which side).
