As an architect, she designs beautiful buildings…But will her heart ever find a place to call home? Taylor’s architectural firm enters her in a contest to build life-sized gingerbread houses. After the contest, she’s likely to get a promotion to a position in another city. But it’s a team competition, and Taylor’s temperamental partner soon backs out. Taylor needs a replacement–fast. When she … needs a replacement–fast.
When she meets Adam, a baker and single dad, she convinces him to be her partner in the contest. After all, winning would give his bakery much-needed exposure.
For years, Taylor has avoided thinking of anywhere as “home.” When she was a kid, her family was always on the move. But the time she spends with Adam and his daughter Brooke, decorating for Christmas and enjoying Philadelphia’s holiday traditions, has her questioning everything. Could she have found a place to call her own?
This book includes an original recipe for Best-Ever Gingerbread.

It’s a heartwarming & moving story.
Everything you want in a true
Christmas romance. Taylor, Adam & Brooke, will steal your heart.
A MUST READ STORY!!
A Gingerbread Romance is a warm, enjoyable Christmas romance that’s also involves family relationships. The book is well written and flowed well until the end. I thought it ended a little abruptly so I was happy to see there was an epilogue to let us know what happened. The epilogue made me smile and brought the story to a happy ending.
I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book received from Hallmark Publishing for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Excellent read with great characters
If you’re looking for a feel good, Christmas romance then this is the book you want! I loved seeing Taylor & Adam try to figure out how to get along to win the competition! And when Adam’s daughter, Brooke, was involved…just so sweet! I enjoyed their chemistry and how they learned what was really important to them! Definitely the perfect book for the holidays!
This is a sweet, clean romance. Taylor is an architect that has dreams and goals of a corner office. Her parents were both professionals and traveled for their jobs. Taylor moved all the time and dreamed of a home of her own. However, this never happened so as Taylor matured, her dream was of the high-paying prestigious job. No white picket fence for her and most likely no family. Now to get that dream job she must design and build a life-size gingerbread house. The baker her boss thought would work with them has decided to work with the competition. In steps Adam, a baker who would love his own shop but has no culinary degree.
This is a heart-warming romance. Taylor and Adam think the time is not right to fall in love. However, Cupid has other plans. I enjoyed the characters and the story. I did get tired of Taylor putting her job first, but ultimately both parties get their priorities straight. The writing was easy to read and the story was fun and entertaining.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and offer my honest opinion of this book.
Ms. Baker is a new to me author and will definitely be on my TBR list from now on. This is a perfect story to curl up next to a fireplace with some hot cocoa. From the beginning you are taken on this Christmas journey with two people who have found each other by chance. Ms. Baker brings us a feel good holiday story that will most likely leave you full of the Christmas feels. Definitely a must read!

A Gingerbread Romance: Based On An Original Hallmark Movie
By: Lacey Baker
*REVIEW*
The older I get, the more I appreciate Hallmark movies. A Gingerbread Romance is a delightful read. Taylor, an architect looking for a promotion to Paris, and Adam, a single dad and a baker, end up working together to build a life size gingerbread house. Although they both have dreams and goals to pursue, plus ideas of what life and home and family mean, they are not similar. As they build the house, commonality begins to show, and unexpected feelings are found. Adam has an adorable daughter, Brooke, and she only helps bring her dad and Taylor closer. Taylor begins to question who she is and what she wants. Despite some baggage and issues, these two might have a chance for something more. It’s a truly heartwarming story with all of the hallmarks of a Hallmark! The characters are flawed and human, thus easier to relate to and like. The spirit of the season is in the pages, and it comes across in wonderful ways. I enjoyed this book, and I recommend for anyone looking for an excellent holiday story with all the feels.
4 star review of A Gingerbread Romance by Lacey Baker
What’s not to love? It’s the most magical time of the year and also happens to be my most favourite holiday. I love any story that is centred around Christmas; it’s a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate.
Lacey Baker is a new author to me and I enjoyed A Gingerbread Romance. This book is a little different than those I usually read and review, in that it is based on a Hallmark movie.
I had a little trouble relating to Taylor at first but she quickly grew on me whilst I loved Adam and his daughter from the start. Taylor has always focused on work and her career so she is not looking for romance. Entered into a competition by her company she has teamed up with Adam, a baker and single dad to help her win a giant gingerbread house competition.
A Gingerbread Romance was full of feel good moments that which had my face aching from smiling so much; the banter and chemistry that built between Taylor and Adam made me smile. A sweet, heartwarming festive holiday romance that will surely put you in the mood for the holiday season.

MY REVIEW
This is my first time reading anything by this author. I have not watched the movie either. The one thing I really loved about this book was the pictures of gingerbread houses on each chapter, it was really a nice touch. For once I wished I had saw the movie first so I could saw the giant gingerbread house being made. Parts of the story were slow and seemed to drag on in the middle of the story. However after that it really took off. I could not turn the pages fast enough. I loved reading Taylor & Adam’s story and fell in love with Adam’s daughter Brooke. Most of the characters were very likeable and relatable. However I did feel a little bit bogged down with so many characters. A Gingerbread Romance is a great reminder of what is really important. If you are looking for a Cute Hallmark read give this one a try.
Many thanks to Hallmark, NetGalley, and the author for a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A Gingerbread Romance: Based On the Hallmark Channel Original Movie
A Gingerbread Romance is full of sugar and emotion. Taylor and Adam are an addiction that proves itself calorie free and heartwarming. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new. It could be the best way to find a happier you. Baker brings out the best parts of the heart all year around. A tasty treat.
Recommend this heartwarming holiday romance for your holiday magic.
When an architect, intent on relocating to Paris for her dream job, is expected to complete one final assignment to build a life-sized gingerbread house for a competition, she doesn’t anticipate an unexpected romance to present her another option. But when she seeks the assistance of a handsome baker who happens to be the single father of an adorable ten-year-old daughter, life throws her a curve ball. This is a light festive story with gingerbread, holiday spirit, romance and dreams that come true.
Architect, Taylor Scott has teamed up with a baker and single dad, Adam Dale for a giant gingerbread house competition. At first, they don’t see eye to eye on anything but the more time they spend together, the more they find themselves enjoying each other’s company and learning new things about themselves. This is a sweet, lighthearted Christmas romance. It has all the wonderful things I look for in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Likable characters, family relationships, a heartwarming romance, and a festive holiday atmosphere. This book is based on a Hallmark movie and I am really excited to see it! Overall, I recommend this book to anyone looking for a feel-good romance. Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this ARC. The opinions expressed are my own
Beautiful Xmas story wrapped up in a bow…..
What a wonderful romantic Christmas story. This story made me feel all warm and cozy like a mug of hot chocolate.
Taylor Scott works for an architect firm and she is very good at her job. She has travelled the world but has never put roots down in any one place she visits. That all changes when her company tasks her with entering her in a contest to build a life sized gingerbread house. That is not her usual choice to create, but it would mean getting her closer to her dream job of working in Paris. Taylor has no issues with the structural end of creating a gingerbread house, baking one is another matter. After losing one the most famous chefs in the city to help her with this project, she turns to a down home baker extraordinaire Adam Dale to help her win the contest. She did not count on him being so handsome, stirring feelings in her that have been dormant up to this point.
Adam a single father with an adorable daughter named Brooke is an amazing baker, but lacks the confidence of taking his skills to the next level. Reluctantly at first Adam faces his fears and agrees to help Taylor with the gingerbread house. Taylor and Adam start out being professional with each other, but their feelings for each other escalate quickly.
This was a feel good story about what is important in one’s life and the choices you make that will give you happiness in the end. The Christmas festivities in this story brought back many wonderful and loving memories for me. Lacey Baker was on point in describing everything magical and inspirational about the Christmas Season.
A Gingerbread Romance is a charming and sweet read. I thought Taylor and Adam are delightful characters. This book is well written and a wonderful story line. If you love hallmark movies you love this book. Thank you Netgallery and Hallmark Publishing.

A Gingerbread Romance is a charming, holiday romance! Taylor has always been moved around by her parents since she was little, so she’s focused on a career and skipped having a personal life. When the promotion she wants at work, rides on her participating in a life-size gingerbread house contest, she’s decidedly out of her element. The more time she spends with the baker she’s roped in to help her, she finds herself wanting someplace to call home. Adam’s daughter is definitely the scene-stealer in this book and you’ll find yourself wanting a cup of hot cocoa and a warm piece of gingerbread.
A Gingerbread Romance by Lacey Baker was such an amazing, heartwarming, sweet, and adorable Hallmark Christmas novel. Yes, ut had romance, but it was so much more.
Ms Baker created a visual landscape of Philadelphia and of the Christmas Gingerbread home process that makes the reader feel as if they are also participating in the competition. It is a story of hopes, dreams, finding friends and family, and realizing that it is never ever too late to find what matters most to you and to make that happen.
I loved the individual characters of Taylor and Adam and I loved their banter and their chemistry. I felt the relationship and the addition of Adam’s adorable daughter, Brooke, were fitting and perfect. I was rooting for the couple the whole time. The ending was perfect as well (including the tiny surprise at the end).
A perfect holiday read for any day of the year.
5/5 stars enthusiastically
I enjoyed this sweet and gentle Hallmark romance. I haven’t seen the movie on which it was based, so I loved the detail that prompted the pictures in my mind as I read each scene. I liked the pace of the plot and the character development; backstory is filled in as needed to move the plot forward and make sense of actions and reactions. As often happens, there is foreshadowing of trouble ahead as two people “accidentally” fall in love when they have different plans for their future, but the end is satisfying.
I voluntarily read a copy provided by the publisher and I offer my honest opinion in response.

I’m becoming addicted to Hallmark books. I’m already a sucker for their movies, all seasons, but they do Christmas right. A Gingerbread Romance, by Lacey Baker, is the format we all love, sweet and has a happily ever after. Available September 17, 2019, the book is based on the original Hallmark movie. I’m wondering if it’s too soon to put a tree?
Taylor Scott moved around a lot, really a lot, during her childhood. She caught the wanderlust bug from her parents and now embraces it to the fullest. She’s hoping her architectural firm will promote her to the Paris office. Paris, France not Paris, Tennessee. The problem with Taylor is she’s rigid, a control freak & a workaholic. Not one bit of balance in her life. Her firm wants to build a life-size gingerbread house in a city contest. Guess who gets to design it? Not happy but taking one for the firm.
Adam Dale is a baker deep in his soul, been cooking since he could reach the countertop. He’s a widower with a 10 year old his and has had to find balance in his life, no other way to make it through the day. He and Taylor are different sides of the same coin. They balance each other out, smooth ruff edges. Of course, they don’t like each other at first but are attracted. Fight the feelings, learn to work as a team and fall in love. Perfect Hallmark plot. The author has made me want to spend a day shopping and sightseeing in Philadelphia, her descriptions are fabulous. Happy reading.
