#1 New York Times Bestseller • #1 USA Today Bestseller • #1 Wall Street Journal BestsellerNow you see her. Now you don’t. THE NEW GIRL. Her patent leather ballet slippers were glossy and bright. She was proper, the new girl, modest. But there was something else about her …
At an exclusive private school in Switzerland, mystery surrounds the identity of the beautiful raven-haired girl who arrives each morning in a motorcade fit for a head of state. She is said to be the daughter of a wealthy international businessman. In truth, her father is Khalid bin Mohammed, the much-maligned crown prince of Saudi Arabia. Once celebrated for his daring social and religious reforms, he is now reviled for his role in the murder of a dissident journalist. And when his only child is brutally kidnapped, he turns to the one man he can trust to find her before it is too late.
What’s done cannot be undone …
Gabriel Allon, the legendary chief of Israeli intelligence, has spent most of his life fighting terrorists, including the murderous jihadists financed by Saudi Arabia. Prince Khalid—or KBM, as he is known—has pledged to finally break the bond between the Kingdom and radical Islam. For that reason alone, Gabriel regards him as a valuable if flawed partner. Together they will become unlikely allies in a deadly secret war for control of the Middle East. The life of a child, and the throne of Saudi Arabia, hang in the balance. Both men have made their share of enemies. And both have everything to lose.
Filled with dark humor, breathtaking twists of plot, and an unforgettable cast of characters, The New Girl is both a thrilling, page-turning tale of entertainment and a sophisticated study of political alliances and great-power rivalries in a dangerous world. And it is once again proof that Gabriel Allon is “one of fiction’s greatest spies” (Kirkus) and Daniel Silva is “quite simply the best” (Kansas City Star) writer of foreign intrigue and suspense at work today.

The winning Silva formula. Very informative historically regarding Philby.
the New Girl by Daniel Silva
In the New Girl Daniel Silva steps out of his formula. He does not start the novel with background information about Gabriel Allon or anyone else. Rather, he starts right in with the story and we learn about Gabriel as the story unfolds, through the characters he interacts with.
As the other Gabriel books this one can be read as a stand alone but it does help the reader appreciate the story if earlier books have been read.
If you are a Daniel Silva fan, this novel won’t disappoint you.

Great as are all Daniel Silva’s books. Can’t wait for the next one!
Daniel Silva tells a great story
Unlike his last few books, Daniel Silva has again crafted a great thriller. The New Girl has lots of plot twists that kept me guessing. It is also very relevant to current events.
Always well researched and hard to put down.
Another gold medal for Daniel Silva and Gabriel Allon. A twist to this story is that Silva restarted/revised this story to incorporate current events, specifically the murder of a Saudi journalist in the Saudi consulate in Turkey. There are also a few times where he, in my opinion, interjects his thoughts about the middle east and its interaction with the major world powers. None of that, however, distracts from another great Silva story.
Excellent read. His books are so well written, each better than the last, if that’s even possible!
Daniel Silva is one of my favorite authors. Each new book is met with anticipation and digested with joy. The New Girl does not disappoint. If you’ve not read Silva yet, you’re in for a treat.
Daniel Silva is the master! I’m thrilled every time a new Gabriel Allon Book comes out! Working the current political world landscape into his action-packed thrillers is Daniel Silva’s forte!
Usual characters. Very political but well written. Ending ???
I started reading Daniel Silva years ago because the main character is an art restorer and that was a personal interest. Over the years, I’ve found the books uneven. The New Girl is a tense thriller based on current affairs. Great characters, twists, and action.
Typical SILVA: matter-of-fact, blunt yet descriptive, a story-within-a story, and retaining characters that have a history with Gabriel ALLON…
Fan of Daniel Silva, like the characters, locations and story moves along well.
Several twists make this a very good read. Silva brings back Sarah Bancroft, the former CIA operative, from a couple of previous novels. Other members of Allon’s merry band are also present as usual. There is a lot of reference to the storyline and characters from The Other Woman, book 18 in the series. Probably more reference than Silva has used in past thrillers, other than Allon’s basic backstory.
A necessary read for any followers of the adventures of Gabriel Allon. And, while fans of Silva’s Allon character really don’t need any incentive to read his work, the ending on this one is WOW.
A very relevant book to today’s world. Great story and characters. Action packed and thought provoking. One of Silva’s best.
silva never disappoints
