B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree and Winner of the National Indie Excellence AwardNaomi sees her first corpse in a Colorado Springs grocery store, but it won’t be her last. With devastating speed, a plague sweeps first the city, then the state, then the world, leaving less than 1% of the population to go on. Naomi, a gentle and sheltered housewife, finds herself fighting for survival in a world … populated by desperate people, where might-makes-right, and mercy and compassion are in short supply. Fellow survivors Jack, a youth minister from Woodland Park; Grace, a 17-year-old high school student from Limon; and Naomi’s daughter Piper, a student at the University of Northern Colorado, all find themselves searching for a safe path forward…because it’s not just the world that has changed.
The plague that decimates the human race also pushes mankind into evolutionary change. Those who survive are different, profoundly so, in ways they are just beginning to comprehend. As Naomi struggles to protect and reunite what’s left of her family, she must also learn to understand and accept the changes in herself. In this strange new world, her survival, and the survival of those she loves, depends on it.

I sincerely enjoyed this book. After I finished it, I picked the other two books up and finished them within a few weeks. Very well written characters and relationships all interspersed with a wonderfully uplifting message. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
Great read
It was a very good book, but, didn’t like the way it just came to an ending just like that. there are two more books guess I will get them too.
I enjoyed all 3 of the books in this series. I wish there were more! The characters are well developed and the plot is exciting. Kathy Miner did a great job with these!
Loved it. It starts with a strange dead body in a Colorado grocery store. A pandemic spreads until less than one percent of mankind is left. The living is altered and new survival begins. Not a zombie book.
Finally! An end of the world story without zombies! Loved these characters.
Ended with buildup to make you want to purchase and read the next two books.
I loved this book, and in fact purchased the 2nd and 3rd parts as well. It’s a gripping story of a post plague world, where the survivors have to deal with horrible losses and learn how to live without the ‘norms’ of today’s society. There is also an evolutionary change in the characters. I find the entire premise to be very thought provoking. …
It has some scenes that are really hard to read, because they cause such strong emotions to come up. But I couldn’t wait to get back to it each day. I will definitely get the other books in this series! I feel so connected to the characters already.
Loved it
Not for men.
fast-paced, left you wanting to know what happens next.
Fantastic!!!
Loved this book. Different characters going through their own hardship. Some are made stronger for their loss while others may be losing their minds. Looking forward to reading the next story.
Loved it
This series of books was a twist on the Apocalypse idea. It was well written, held my interest and even caused me to purchase the other 2 books. Wish this author would have continued the books further than 3.
I stayed up all night and read the whole thing in one day. I couldn’t put it down. It’s so realistic and I got so involved with the people that I was crying through half of it.
I’ve started on the second book but it’s not anywhere as gripping as the first one. I’m getting a little put out with the lack of forward motion and I’m having a hard …
