Nursing Myself Back is the third and final book in the Tryst of Fate series by Kara Liane, and it is a contemporary romance novel. The book is written in the alternating characters perspective of Caleb and Liz.. The story is about a 44 year old recently widowed woman named Liezel “Liz” Carter, who works as a registered nurse in a Cardiology practice. Liz has three teenaged children, who she’s been raising without the help of her late husband, William, who was a terrible father. William was an alcoholic, and their marriage was not a good one. Her three children are the loves of her life and the best thing to have happened to her in her horrible, loveless marriage. Liz feels no sadness or grief due to her husband’s death, in fact she feels nothing. William was not a good husband, and Liz hadn’t been touched by her husband in years. She doesn’t remember what it feels to be touched by a man.
The story is also about a 34 year old man named Caleb Daniels, and he is a divorce lawyer. His parents have died, and he has no siblings. He had a baby brother when he was a young boy who died of SIDS, and Caleb can barely remember him. Caleb has never been married, and has always been attracted to older women since he was a young teenager. He is a very handsome man, which Liz has definitely noticed. Caleb’s best friend is Liz’s boss, Dr. Alexi Graham; Liz helped him open his Cardiology practice after working with him for many years at the hospital. Because of Caleb’s and Alexi’s friendship, Caleb and Liz’s family have been acquainted for quite some time. Caleb is very attracted to Liz, and is more than happy to be Liz’s friend until she’s ready for a romantic relationship. Will Liz’s and Caleb’s attraction for one another turn into a romantic relationship?
I enjoyed this book by Kara Liane, but I gave it 4 stars because it seemed like the story moved a little bit too slowly. I definitely enjoyed the backstories of the two main characters, which definitely helped me to better understand the ending of this story. This is the first book that I’ve read by this author, and I’m looking forward to reading some of her other books. I would definitely recommend this book to lovers of romance novels.
Nursing Myself Back: (A Tryst of Fate Series Novel – Book 3) By Kara Liane. While a part of a series you can read this story as a standalone without confusion but I do recommend all the books just because they are all great. This story is about Liz and Caleb two people trying to find right where they belong. Liz’s character is just someone you’d love to say you know in real life. Caleb while known as a player is ready for something different in life. It’s fun to watch these two through the story. From page one I was completely hooked and didn’t want it to end ever. The characters are special and engaging. The storyline is well written and thought out. The author does a wonderful job of bringing every emotion right to the surface. I’m adding this to my read again list for sure. Giving this wonderful story a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.
Nursing Myself Back to Health (A Tryst of Fate Series Novel #3)

Rated 4 stars
When I started this story I was not impressed with it. There is too much thinking in their heads and not enough dialogue for me. Just over half way something changed. I think there became more movement from the characters. Things started happening and the narrative didn’t see to bother me as much. Then at about three quarters of the book being done i was hooked! I just wanted to know how things would finish.
Caleb is not a typical male in a romance book. He is almost a female brain in a male body. He is kind, thoughtful and he worries about the female. Although Inside his brain there are much dirtier thoughts going on. He is looking for a “cougar” and he seems to have found one in his own group of friends. He has been “all in” from the beginning. But her husband just passed so she isn’t outwardly interested in Caleb. Again inside her thoughts…beats a different drummer.
This is my second book by this author and in this series. I’m not sure her writing style is for me. The story seems to drag for me when there is narrative. I much prefer dialogue and activity among the characters. We did get to see and hang out with the previous books characters. The second half of the story we see a lot of these guys. Well other than Alexi…he is there from the beginning.
Nursing Myself Back: (A Tryst of Fate Series Novel – Book 3) by Kara Liane was a sweet, hot, good free book that got me in all the right places.
My first read by thids author and wow, I was captured instantly. Told in dual POV, we get both sides of this hot, frustrating tale of learning what it is to truly love, and open up to love. I will say that though this is part of a series, it reads as a stand-a-lone, so no worries if you haven’t read the other books.
What was frustrating for me was knowing that both Caleb and Liz, wanted each other, but both were too safe, you could say, to really act on it, unit it got to the braking point. And when it did.. oh boy did the temp rise, it’s one of those scenes where if you’re in public you look up and to make sure no-one knows what you’re reading, based on the look of your face. Cause man oh man.. I needed a smoke after that.
I don’t want to give anything away, but this story is a good mix of rebuilding after loss, and letting go of the past, with hot steamy smut. No details are spared and, just as a PSA, this is an very adult book, I’m talking 18+ on the smut scale.
Overall, I loved this book. I will say there is was some over explaining, and repeating, mostly on Caleb side of things. So I did do some speed reading during those times. It was mostly when he was he was thinking of Liz. I got it buds, your head over heals. Other then that, the writing was smooth, the plot was on point and the tone matched the ups and downs. There was realism in this wonder, and I loved how on both sides, how miscommunication and dumb love can mess up your perspective.
I give this book my super high recommendation, and I will be checking out the other books, cause there are some characters in here that I need to know their story and, how they came to be.
Happy Reading

Nursing Myself Back by Kara Liane
Four Stars
I think the word cougar being used for older women who date younger men is funny. Liz is an older woman who just laid her husband to rest. But you start to see that he was no great husband or father. I liked the message in this story. It was very relatable even with the age difference. The thought of putting yourself back out there after a break up or even death is scary. You’ve been out of the game for so long that you feel awkward and uncertain. The only difference with this story is that Liz had someone waiting for her to be available. I did enjoy the author’s writing style very smooth and straight to the point.
What an emotional rollercoaster in the best of ways! I read this book as a stand-alone and did not feel at a loss by doing so. This book was well developed. The plot pace was steady and the characters were full and rich. I am thankful to have read this book. I look forward to reading more from this author and will definitely recommend this book to others.
