When Brady Bunson first meets Jesse O’Neal, she’s sick and dying from one of the illnesses that have ravaged the small shifter population. As a shifter squirrel with a tiger ancestor way back in her family line, Jesse is actually an ideal candidate for Dr. Montgomery’s work in changing DNA to save the smaller shifters… all the pain the doctor put the Bunson family through will finally save a … life.
Although Brady is falling for Jesse, he doesn’t really know what to do with his emotions. The Company is still out there and his family won’t be safe until they’re taken down – and now that Jesse is a successful experiment using the same science, she won’t be either. Having spent most of his prime dating years in a lab, all of his relationship experience from high school tells him it’s unfair to ask Jesse to put her life on hold for him in a long distance relationship while his focus is entirely on taking down The Company to ensure the safety of those he loves, even if she’s included in that group.
But he has more trouble letting her go than he thought he would.
Chasing His Squirrel is approximately 65k words and contains an alpha male and a young woman grabbing hold of her second chance at life with both hands.

The second part of this series is just as much fun to read as the first. This is the story of the eldest of the Bunson siblings,Brady. He falls for Jesse, who at first is slowly dying….Until the evil doctor that turned the Bunsons into bunnies, has a cure. Luckily. While they’re not fated mates, they do love eachother and the road to their happiness is different. A fun read, not tóó deep…..but fun. I enjoyed it,a lot.
Change is in the DNA
This book follows so smoothly behind the previous book that you hardly realize there was a break between the two. I love how the author continues to insert geek culture references, hello Harry Potter and was that a little Doctor Who, to bring some humor into those intense minutes. The author manages to widen the scope of her over riding storyline while giving us another HEA for these Big Bad Bunnies. I have no idea who will fall for love next, but I just know this author won’t disappoint me. I can’t wait to queue up the next book.
These Small Shifter Stories will grab your Heart and Make you Laugh!!!!
Such a fabulous series! A doctor loses his fox-shifter mate to disease and he experiments on others to find a cure. Brilliant and so very wrong, except now those who were freed from his lab may be the answer for others. One such victim, Brady, is quite taken with Jesse who needs a cure before it is too late.
Equal parts struggle, romance and humor in this unique shifter series. “So yeah, physically hot, but he was also funny, sweet, caring, and super protective of his family. Geez, and she really thought she might have a chance with a guy like this?”
Truly one of my favorite series!
Big Bad Bunnies Book Two.
Jesse O’Neal has been afflicted by the Torch, an ailment that is deadly to small shifters like her. Jesse’s entire family has been decimated by the Torch and the only ones still standing are Jesse, her brother, Daniel, and their aunt, Penny. Now that the Bunson siblings have been rescued from the Company, Jesse’s family may have hope. When Brady Bunson meets Jesse and her family, he immediately feels a connection. If his family’s suffering can save the lives of another family, he might be able to live with the tragedy of his past. As he continues to stay with Jesse, his feelings grow.
If you’re looking for a different kind of shifter tale, this is the series for you!

Fun shifter story
Golden Angel’s Big Bad Bunnies series continues with Chasing His Squirrel the second book in the series. I had not read or listened to book 1 and this worked well as a stand alone with enough background to understand the continuing arc of the story.
I thought Brady and Jessica were a fun couple. Both have strong family ties which plays an important part in the book and series. I thought there was some serious chemistry and the Harry Potter references made me smile.
I must admit the narrator Killian Heilsberg was sometimes hard for me to listen to because of the pitch of her voice but that’s just a personal preference. Check out the sample to decide for yourself.
I was fortunate to receive an audible credit via Audiobook Obsession.
This was different from any other shifter book I have read before. This had a lot about smaller animal shifters and science experimenting on them. Plus I am wondering if this audiobook is part of a possible series. This had a sweet romance and multiple things going on behind the romance. In addition, there is some action and suspense. It was different but good. I have never heard the narrator before but enjoyed his voice and felt he did a great job on the entire audiobook. Lots of enthusiasm!

BradyJesse! Great Story! Great Audible Listen
Chasing His Squirrel
Big Bad Bunnies, Book 2
By: Golden Angel
Narrated by: Killian Heilsberg
I just adore this fascinating and imaginative world Golden Angel created. It is original, well written and captivating from start to end. The storylines and characters are interesting and complex. It is great how the paranormal shifters are a mix of different animal breeds. I enjoyed the banter and dialogue between the leads, loved how Brady looked out for Jesse and her brother as they worked to get them cured. There is a lot of drama, action, twists and suspense in this story some caused by having the evil Dr. Montgomery in captivity and the Company on their tails. But in addition to all that there is great humor and romance. Golden Angel, thanks for another great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Killian Heilsberg is a terrific narrator and voice performer. She brings the characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for great listen

The second book in the Big Bad Bunnies series, but you can read it as a standalone.
It features Brady, the oldest Bunson and Jesse a shifter squirrel. What I loved about the book was the way Brady muddled through how to do a relationship and also trying to listen to his shifter side. That side was much easier and no nonsense. That made me laugh.
Loved Jesse, she was a wonderful character.
A fun and exciting story that will keep you interested till the end! These books are addictive! This is my second book read from this author and I am now a fan! The story continues from Chasing His Bunny, but can be read on its own just as well. It is stupid good. I couldn’t put it down and I’m dying for the third book in the series to be released! I loved the original characters and their zest for life, their humor and their loyalty. Jessie is my number two favorite character, Bailey is outrageous and spunky, I can’t wait to see if she gets her own story too. Jessie and Brady make sense but he is clueless. I love the build up and then the mistakes they make in their burgeoning relationship but I adore the casual violence that is so well written and seamlessly dispersed in the book. I can go on, but you should just go ahead and buy the book and read it instead. It’s amazing!
The Big Bad Bunny series is just totally awesome. Chasing His Squirrel is a relatively light and easy read. Yeah, there’s angst and conflict and bad guys, but you have to have at least some of those things to make a story good. But, what this book has more of is love and devotion and the experience of watching a relationship build over time. That’s awesome.
Brady Bunson spent many years trapped in a laboratory with his siblings, being experimented on by a mad scientist who turned them into shifter hybrids. Now that he’s free, he’s been trying to catch up on everything he can, including dating, in the time-honored bunny method. But, when he meets Jesse, everything changes.
Jesse, her aunt, and her younger brother are squirrels. They are fighting off a disease called the Torch. They have come to Lakewood to get the cure. The thing is, that the cure was created by that mad scientist, and it will change them. While they are waiting to see if Jesse and Daniel can even take the cure, Brady sits with Jesse and they talk every day. She catches him up on pop culture, especially Harry Potter.
One thing I really like about this book is that it doesn’t appear that Brady and Jesse are fated mates the way that Brady’s sister Bethany and her mate Steele are. That means instead of having to mate immediately or be forced to it by their inner animals, Brady and Jesse have the luxury of time to date, court, and build a relationship before they go through the whole mating thing. You don’t see that in a lot of shifter stories. They tend to be heavily fated mates. I’m not knocking fated mates, but it’s nice to have a change.
I can’t wait to read the next one and to see what’s going to happen to the rest of the family.
That was a sweet heartwarming story in full romantic mode – not as lol-funny as “Chasing His Bunny” but so typical #dontshowweaknesswithyourlove and with a solid portion of Shifters life.
Reading was captivating, in a good speed, fluently and interesting.
This book is definitely unique when it comes to paranormal shifter books. I really enjoyed learning the new way of shifters and watching this relationship grow. Definitely a fun book to listen to.
