Christian is the exception to Tiffany’s rule that all males are louses. For years Tiffany has lusted after Christian and of late she can’t help but wonder what it might be like to have a brief fling with him. The opportunity to explore her secret fantasy appears when Christian offers her a job as the IT person for his practice, the V clinic. She knows if he gives her the green light, she’s going … going to have a romp with her sexy vampire. When the night finally arrives and she and Christian have sex, the experience is so overwhelmingly powerful, Tiffany backpedals and tries to turn down the heat between them. She’s human. He’s a vampire. She can’t afford to fall in love with him.
Christian has other ideas. During their sexual encounter, he discovers Tiffany is his life mate and he vows to change her thinking. His intentions are put on hold when he gets caught up in an angel of death’s vicious plan to chemically terminate V clinic patients’ pregnancies. Tiffany herself falls victim to a lethal dose of arsenic and Christian can only save her by turning her into a vampire. She’s furious when she wakes from her turning and discovers what Christian has done. She wants nothing to do with him ever again, but when she’s kidnapped by this angel of death and used as a guinea pig for deadly experiments she only has Christian to turn to save her life.

I read this book, excited to experience more awesomeness from Lana Campbell. I read Forever and a Night fairly quickly and this book was no exception. I thoroughly enjoy Campbell’s writing, her characters are loveable, thought out and expressive. Her plot lines are fairly unpredictable and always make you want more from the story. This is only the second book of hers that I have read and am hoping that she does have a series lurking about on Amazon somewhere that I haven’t gotten to yet. I don’t usually enjoy stand-alone books but I make the exception for Lana Campbell. She’s amazing and her writing is nothing short of that as well.
In Dark Experiments, the plot is very well constructed with great pacing while it tells a terrifyingly realistic journey into the world of vampires. This vampire tale takes on a new twist of vampires co-existing with humans without the usual direction other vampire novels take, it was refreshing to have them be enhanced humans rather than blood-thirsty monsters. I appreciated the plot twist, which allowed be to be taken by surprise rather than being able to guess ahead. While this is the second book in the series, it does a great job of also being a stand-alone book.
Great characters and an imaginative plot make this one a good read. I took a chance on this vampire tale because it did appear different, and it was. I did enjoy it.
This is a sit on the edge of your seat kind of book. Dark Experiments is book 2 in the Forever and a Night Series by Lana Campbell. This mystery and romance is one intense book and I loved every minute of it!! Defiantly a page turner. Though in a series you can read this as a standalone but recommend you read Forever In A Night, book 1. I am new to the PRN books and mostly read historical romances but when I was given this book I though “what the heck I’ll read it”. I am so very happy that I did. Lana has the most wonderful characters that you even love a sarcastic, no nonsense, smart mouth geek and oh what a storyline. It is one of the most creative stories that I have read in a very long time. This story has murders, poisonings, vampire turnings, evil, compassion, family love, mistrust, an anger from the past, abduction, doctors, protection, madness and a love of a best friend. Yes…this has it all and I highly recommend you read this book. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!! KUDOs Lana Campbell!
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Dark Experiments by Lana Campbell is the first book I’ve read from her. My first vampire book that I’ve read. I absolutely loved this book. Dark, mysterious and romantic. Christian is a vampire and he’s an OB Dr for his special clinic. He delivers babies from vampires and humans. He hires Tiffany who is a long time family friend to be the IT at his clinic. Tiffany is human and does not want to turn vampire. After Tiffany got hired things in the clinic go worse. The pregnant mothers were delivering stillborn babies with no explanation as to why. They found out someone was poisoning them. But didn’t know how or why. They got Tiffany to and was on her death bed when Christian took it upon himself to turn her into a vampire by using his blood. He finally realized after all these years that Tiffany was his life mate. When Christian brought Tiffany out of her induced coma, she was pissed beyond words. It took her along time to realize why he did it. Then Tiffany was kidnapped by the person who was behind it all. I was in shock when I found out who was doing it. I can’t wait to read the next one.
I loved this book. Tiffany is one firsty girl and i love it. What her n. Hristian go through for one another n the fights they face leave you ready for the next page constantly. This is a must read
i read the first book and really enjoyed it I let my mom read this one we had to get her a tablet so she could read them. I love that the family is together in these as well
I love this series so much! Tiffany and Christian’s story is full of danger, suspense, anxiety and love. I highly recommend these books be read in order, even though they can be read as standalones, because each story builds from the last and adds to reader enjoyment.
Tiffany, the daughter of Mia, and Christian the doctor has been friends for 12 years. He is vampire and she is human. She was just hired to work in his clinic as an IT person to bring them up-to-date. She still is reeling from the devastation her father caused her family. Everything seems to be going well and her and Christian hook up for one night…now nothing is the same! Vampire babies are being stillborn, vampire mothers are becoming sick! No one knows what is going on! Then an attempt on Tiffany’s life leaves Christian with no choice but to change her without her permission! All the characters that endeared themselves to your heart now come together again in this second installment to discover who is behind the fatalities and why! No one is safe~ the story takes an even more sinister turn when some patients and Tiffany turn up missing! Who is behind all of this? Again, why? What will happen to those who were taken? Will Christian be able to save Tiffany? What will become of their relationship? Did Tiffany make a huge mistake ignoring Christian and what he told her? This second book in the series will leave you wondering who is capable of such inhumane actions against others! Lana Campbell did another fantastic job of keeping us in suspense with her unique perspective of weaving Christian principles with the world of the paranormal. I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
There are two strong characters in this story and it is more than just their romance, there is murder and mystery too. The twists in this book will keep you reading, not wanting to put it down. I enjoy Lana’s characters, they always seem to draw me in. It is a romance and when these vampires mate, it is a true mating and I feel it is well written – descriptive but not overdone. This is one of my favorite PNR series.
I read the first installment of the Forever and a Night series and really enjoyed it! Campbell captures the art of paranormal romance novel writing with flare and excellent character creation! I wondered if readers would see more of Tiffany and I was not disappointed! Book two flows from book one nicely and explores Tiffany’s world in a creative, suspenseful and engaging tale. If you want an engaging read with action, intrigue and relateable characters, you will not be disappointed in this series!
Well done!
I have found a new go-to author in Lana Campbell! This series just gets better and better! Tons of suspense, romance, and vampires! What more is needed for a great book?! I am ready to dive into the next one!
How many times have you felt you don’t belong somewhere? That becomes more poignant when you feel you don’t belong in your lover’s world. Even more so when it’s a long-time friend you’ve always thought about having a fling with. This is the situation Tiffany finds herself in her relationship with the vampire, Christian.
They are given a chance to explore their love when she gets to work with him. It becomes a bit too intense, but Christian won’t let her back away. However, when they are attacked, there is only one way to save her. Of course, his actions piss her off. She walks away, only to be dragged back into his world via a kidnapping.
The characters are strong and their relationship is complex and believable, despite the paranormal aspects of the world. The mystery aspects are well-planned and while some dialogue got a little ponderous, it was a delightful read.
A smoldering passion between a vampire doctor and a young human burns bright but encounters setbacks in this well-structured who-dun-it.
Great detail in what being a vampire entails and in the ordinary lives they try and lead.
A real good story, highly recommend.
